Alliance for Better Zambia (ABZ) President Frank Bwalya has expressed fear that the Patriotic Front government may be depleting the country’s foreign reserves without Zambians knowing.
Speaking to Qfm in an interview, Fr. Bwalya said that the PF government has been overspending since coming to power on things such as induced by-elections.
Fr. Bwalya said the Patriotic Front government has not saved any money but has continued to overspend in addition to contracting loans without realizing that such loans will have to be paid back with interest.
Fr. Bwalya has since implored the Zambian people to begin to hold the government accountable on how they are spending the money that the country is making.
He said Zambians should also remind the PF government to fulfill the promises they made to grow the economy.

LT you have lost it also, don’t misquote what pipo say…Check our Facebook page and see how popular PF is both Locally and internationally…
hehehehehehehe how popular the pf is both locally and international, are u insane? the last time i checked PF Facebook page on has 518 likes
Popular? My foot! Only in your dreams.
Bwalya needs the attention of a Clinical Psychologist, I am not even sure whether this man has relatives.
Guys this world is not fair.
This ka father is one chap I don’t and wont pay attention to….am out
PF IS VERY POPULAR BOTH AT HOME AND ABROAD.
Fr Bwalya is spot on. These PF buffoons can’t see that our Kwacha is depreciating at the rate of 0.05% per day because of the recklessness of Sata and his mad team.
They have eyes but can’t see that most projects launched by Sata have stalled due to lack of funds.
GBM has offered to complete the bus station in Kasama but out of PF’s stupid pride they turned down his offer and yet they know there is no money to complete the project.
Your blog name surely defines who you are….
Frank Bwalya is a frustrated mad man who has lost respect and trust people had in him. The future is very valuable to Zambia, what ever we want to achieve in the future is usually defined by what has happened in the pass and dictates how we build our Zambia.
The future a head of us is full of possibilities as we continue with massive infrastructure development country wide and Zambia will never be the same.
You illiterates are becoming very irritating with your obsequiousness.Fr Bwalya is more man than you will ever be. The man has principles and has clearly shown that he can not be bought. Why don’t you just get your PF bosses to publish a report of Zambias Reserves.RB never shied away from telling us.You nitwits are destroying our country and selling our childrens futures to whoever dangles a few gold coins in your faces.
Bufi, I dont think your steriotyped mind can ever see that Zambia is one of the fastest growing economies in Africa today and even the world.
I bet during the next Presidential elections, your Presidents Mlongoti, Mpombo, HH, and others will be talking about things they intend to do for our country.
Sata will be talking about things he would have done since he came into office.
The only case you may have against the man which you may use effectively in Southern Province, Western and North Western Provinces is that the man is Bemba.
Otherwise you will have no case against him…having done in two years what we were supposed to have done in 47 years.
Fr Bwalya should not say “MAY be depleting”. They have already exhausted the reserves RB left and we are now going deep into the debt trap which the colonisers (Guy Scott’s’s family) need to help sort out their financial mess there.
Bboza, I doubt whether you went beyond grade 9 in school.
Any well meaning person will know that when you put up Roads, Bridges, Shools, Universities, Hospitals, Clinics, stadiums, Airports and other infrastructure you spend big money.
In the past, all we used to hear was we cant do this and that because there is no money…meanwhile they were eating.
Today the question is where is Sata getting the money…because so much has been done?
Ask Western Governments…..you will surely learn something about the most hard working President and yet so much hated by his natural haters.
Mukayapya kuli Lesa boyi na HH obe.
Stupid racist like your failed politician brother Akaide

since when did you develop without spending money?
Ayi? Teach these dull characters.
why should we keep money in banks meanwhile we have projects.Let that money work for the Zambian people. These guys condemning the government are just jealous of all the achievements this government is doing. It is easier said than done. That Fr Bwalya is just talking and talking while others are busy working. Watch out 2016 we shall still give this man another Vote as we are able to see the development in all rounds of our country. Give him time and see the new Zambia. Haters please we can’t give Mike Mulogoti Vice Presidency of our Country as he says. Though l m UPND l will vote for Sata this time around.
I wonder if ba Father Bwalya went kufyabupatili with his heart. My suspision is he barely passed grade 12 and could not be admitted at any credible University or College and pa last baishileisanga kubupatili which he has abandoned because he did not do it with his heart, he is just an opportunist like ba Nevers Mumba.
@yaya sililo
And that is our problem, a lack of understanding and knowledge – including judgment.
We neither know the meaning of RESERVE nor understand its value and purpose. So what will stop us from depleting the reserves? Tell me!
You are just talking , if l may ask how much money have you reserved yourself? You mean the Government can’t reserve anything? The Government has Money and very Good reserves. Just because you want to know it from a Fr bwalya and our fellow men and women in opposition. We shall continue to urge from out side the ring while these PF people are working. Let us not be Bitter. Let us give solution to this Government rather than us always be in the opposite.
@yaya sililo,
A lack of knowledge is more deadly and more destructive than a weapon such as AK47.
You can have AK47 in you hands, but as long as you don’t use it it will stay idle and harmless. But wherever people posses a lack knowledge in their hands – they perish. It is automatic – for a lack of knowledge you simply perish.
When some Zambians are complaining that Sata is over spending on projects, counties like Nigeria are busy building a NEW CITY CALLED ATLANTIC CITY. They are spending huge sums of money reclaiming the land from the sea spending billions of dollars. They know that in due course they will repeat what they have sowed. But in Zambia awe chalishupa mukwai. Let Sata develop the infrustructure. They are not dull that they will spend every penny from our coffers. They have professors, doctors etc.
very well said my friend. How l wish some of these bloggers could come home ( Zambia ) and help or see what us are going through. Why running away from your own country and praise your foreign stay. Home is Home. Let us tel them how these countries are spending the monies just to build a new city. Thanks my friend.
To develop we need to spend money. There is no need to have a fat bank account if you can’t use that money to re-invest, otherwise you risk spending it on covering shocks such as funerals. In the end you have nothing to show for other than graves. Therefore, spending to facilitate growth is fine. If you do not have money, it is still fine to borrow to put in place structures that will facilitate growth and enable you to pay back. What is wrong is to borrow for consumption. You can borrow to build a house or start a business, this is okay. Let us just make sure that PF utilises the loans in generative sectors and not consumption. I have used my gold cards to improve my farm and I am paying back nicely using sales from the farm produce.
Do you even know the purpose or meaning of forex reserves? Please don’t display your ignorance.
Tell ’em Tumbuka. These ignorant fools mistakenly think reserves are like their piggybank cash.
So much ignorance by PF vuvuzela bloggers here. They display economic illiteracy just like their mafias in public office who can’t even run a simple road side stall.Economics is clearly not your forte.
2o16 PF Kuya bebele.
We love Father Frank Bwalya. Tell them Frank, bauze!
surely lack of knowledge leads to death. Is there development in Zambia? Move around the world or just in South Africa then you will know. PF is full of illiterates and lacks new technological ideas. Fr Bwalya is right. Anything sensible Zambia will vote out PF come 2016
@Hingombe @Yaya & @chester please go study about the purpose of forex reserves before you sprout your idiocy to the rest of Zambia.
If we put the reserves on your road projects how do we import oil, computers and salaulas for your impoverished relatives? THINK,THINK YOU *****S.
you are a very big ***** yourself. Have we insulted you in our views? Even if today you were put in state house you will run away from problems. We are proudly Zambians and will stay in Zambia.
Ci Frank ulepena.U had a better job at Zesco bt u quit thnkng yr…..can take u else where & had support where?Funtizo ci patili!wooo wooo its not easy
Exactly what I wanted to say. If is still saying ‘may’ ! Oh God help this man. The reserves are already depleted.
He is still saying,,.
When you hear anything saying” mukwai” , fire.”Fye” fire. That is Sata trying to make Chitimwaice eat a humble pie.
Mzambia wa zamani or whatever you call yourself. I did not mention Forex Reserve in my submission. I merely talked about the need to borrow for investment purposes and the risk of having monies that you can not utlise. Shame on you for jumping into conclusion and disrespecting other’s views. You don’t even know my profession and my academic credentials for you to label me as an I-d-iot. I strongly suspect you are one yourself and you lack self esteem because your were badly brought up.
Fr Bwalya, do you sometime remember that innocent chicken – more innocent than you – you sacrificed in Luanshya? Its blood is haunting you now.
Who told you Zambians are not seeing the depletion of Zambia’s US$2.6 Billion reserves MMD run govt left? Zambians are extremely grateful for the depletion… after-all this is what we chose. Enjoy bane, we chose you for what we knew you are capable of.
Fr Bwalya, you represent yourself only…remember Catholics are hypocrites.
