Arthur Davies to host Nkana vs KCCA CAF Champions League game

Share

Nkana have moved Saturday’s 2014 CAF Champions League match against Uganda’s Kampala City Council Authority to Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

Continuous rains being experienced in Kitwe have made the pitch at Nkana Stadium waterlogged.

Nkana secretary Ken Mwansa said the reason to shift the venue for the first round, first leg tie was technical.

“Yes we have changed the venue from Nkana Stadium to Arthur Davies Stadium, this is due to a technical reason,” Mwansa said.

The turf at Arthur Davies absorbs water easily compared to the one at Nkana Stadium.

  1. Arthur Davis and Garden park stadiums were professionally constructed by Mr Arthur Walter Davis to drain or release water fast whenever it rain or the turf is water logged.

  2. Who was Arthur Davis? Surely 50 years of our independence, we cannot re-name such infrastructure befitting a hard won republic like ours? We have had fearless freedom fighters on the copper-belt notably in Kitwe; the likes of bene Wilson Chakulya, Katilungu, Lemmy Chipili to name but a few, why do we then insist on these foreign names? Names like Arthur Davis, the Hospital in Ndola etc should be changed immediately. Little wonder we Zambians (Africans) cannot even write our own History, we leave everything to bena fyalo who not only distort the facts but down right ignore actual facts…

    • this man , as a matter of fact, contributed alot to development of football in this country. he is the brain behind power dynamos and also high contributor to the establishment of the hospital in ndola. u cant just quash a person like that just because he was a foreigner. as much as i agree with you on the other heroes, lets name the new infrastructure after them. as for these two, its OK

    • He was General manager for CPC who did a lot for football. He was in the forefront in the construction of the same stadium. He is even the one who worked on KPF and Moga in chamboli when he was moved from CPC to Circuit Holdings.

    • Arthur Walter Davies was a true Zambian of British decent who wanted to transformer the face of the Company.Ask people who CPC during the time of Arthur Davies, they will confess that he looked after them well than during the time of ZCCM’s Power Division and the CEC reign. Arthur Davies was a football referee in Zambia ,he is the one who started Power Dynamos which brought the first ever Africa Club winners cup (Confred Cup) to Zambia and another Continental Cup which they won in Egypt or Ivory Coast. He is the one who talked to KK to set the first ever professional football league in Zambia which was later abandoned FTJ’s MMD. He was in the process of transforming the KPF into a modern sports village but the politics of the Malashas and Co stopped him and now KPF is a hide out for…

    • Arthur Davies although he was a foreigner should be recognised in our republic Zambia. He gentle immersely contributed to our Football in Zamiba, built arthur Davies Staduim in Kitwe,he also heavily contributed to the building of the children Hospital in Ndola.

    • Is it the Government which constructed Kitwe’s Arthur Davis stadium for you to suggest remain of it? This man did a lot for sports in Zambia, Kitwe in particular. Maybe you were yet born but you should learn to ask before you say anything on matters that you don’t understand. Uleipusha mwana. Wilatemwa fye ukulandalanda as if you are in politics

  3. @Nkope sinyenga kwati ni mp’t isula! Arthur Davis built the stadium from the scratch and started and Supported Power Dynamos possibly the only team in our history that started from amateur leagues winning promotion every year till they reached Premier League. A friend of mine was among those who built and maintained the greens. When Davis was around the playing surface was green and much better we used to call it “carpet! He was General Manager of Power Division up to just around 1980s. He passed away a few years ago. Please stop being ignorant.

  4. AS I SAID nkana is jittery because they beat swallows of swaziland through amalilisho ka PENALTY KA BOZA, NOW THEY FACE THE REAL TEST and already changing STADIA, KCCA is here to demolish YOU start preparing dismissal letters for your CLUELESS COACH

    • At Nkana we are mature people, we do not just fire coaches or players. We believe in ourselves, we are a team of Coaches, players and supporters. It’s either you join us or you leave us alone.

Reasons for changing venue for the match have been given.

    • KCCA has never and will never beat Nkana FC. Starting from the time of East and Central Africa club championship we have trounced them convincingly and in the CAF club champions cup now the champions league. Our only challenge is when we meet to team from North Africa and probably West Africa. Not East,South and Central African teams we are the real champions of Zambia, that’s Nkana for you. There are two Zambia team that have reached the finals of CAF club champions Nkana and Power 90 all of the Diggers town of Kitwe. Fortunately and good for Power they won and unfortunately and bad for Nkana we lost it at independence stadium in Lusaka 1990. We had wanted the final to be played per chilata but FAZ and KK took it to Lusaka where ba Moddon Malitoli missed the penalty.

  5. Those of you who think KCCA can beat KALAMPA 2moro make an effort to watch Nkana you wil see & understand we are really “12 TIME CHOMPION of this great Nation of football”.

  6. If you take a cash advance service, a payday loan without credit check is probably going
to save you money on interest. Payday loans have no credit check, no faxing.
Though this is a bank transfer that is done,
you can be approved by the lender most normally includes an amount that
they will be higher than bank rates.
