The Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President George Mpombo has called on the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) to abandon its alleged cheap political shenanigans on the constitutional making process and release the document to the public.
Speaking in a telephone interview with Qfm news Dr. Mpombo has observed that the ruling party seems not to have learnt anything and risk repeating history if they continued standing in the way of a people driven constitution.
Dr. Mpombo commended the Opposition Members of Parliament for seeing through governments gimmicks by calling Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba’s recent Ministerial statement on the current state of the constitutional making process as a bluff.
The PDP leader noted that as people entrusted to represent the views of the public, the Members of Parliament should be supported on their stance as the ruling party has allegedly betrayed the people’s wishes on a people driven constitution.
The opposition leader has also predicated that, in view of the current happenings in the country, the PF’s Boat is at the verge of being swept by a Tsunami if they continue to resist the wishes and aspirations of the people in delivering a new constitution.

The constitution definately will be out but not with the so called 50+1 which is costly and time consuming and a catalyst for Tribalism and Regionalism. Zambia needs to develop we 1000 yrs behind. So we should not waste our resources on things we can avoid like 50+1.
A good constitution is not cheap @Njalamimba! If you are serious, let us invest in a good document that will never be changed by selfish politicians…..If you are looking for cheap my friend then continue supporting your animal driven constitution.Remember the man behind the third term in the Chiluba days…….Our MP’s are right because you are dealing with someone with a dengerous history!

I don’t know where George Mpombo stands at the moment. Sometimes the man is quoted in the Post Newspaper condemning fellow opposition leaders. Sometimes he supports PF. I wonder if I can really trust this type of a man. Recently he condemned opposition leaders who accompanied GBM to Woodlands Police. This are type of politicians who eats with both hands. He is not different from Mr. Milupi. Mr. Milupi also in a turncoat who does not know anything.
Coming to constitution – Zambian people should not cry too much. Sata received support from the same people today who are complaining that the people driven constitution be released. The catholic is one such type of an example. This time around catholic is behind PF no wonder they are quiet on this issue. The Post Newspaper is also…

Thought this man was in jail. What happened. Seems we have two set of laws in Zambia. The known are jailed outside while the poor go in forever or what. Some one please educate me
I always condemn the statements issued by George Mpombo,but for this one I really support him.Pf under Sata is a political failed party.We need to change this dirty pant frustrated party because it’s stinking corruption,tribalism & segregation in giving positions in govt parastatals.

Those thst cannot see what George is seeing are ” batidye naye Sata and his pf wait for the next biellection , the boat wont just be swept away but will sink. I never thought of supporting the opposition , Zambians regrate voting in pf and its president. May GOD forgive us for the mistake made.
