Sunzu scores for Sochaux

Share

Defender Stopilla Sunzu scored his third goal of the season for Sochaux on Saturday to inspire the troubled French club to a 2-0 home win over Lorient.

Sunzu is enjoying a flying start at Sochaux whom he joined in January on a three year deal from DR Congo side TP Mazembe in January on a Euros 1 million deal.

The Zambia defender scored Sochaux’s second goal in the 78th minute to see them unbeaten at home since the start of 2014 with four successive wins.

And Sunzu’s goal came after missing Sochaux’s 2-1 away loss at Monaco last Saturday together with his compatriots Nathan Sinkala and Emmanuel Mayuka due to flight connection problems after playing in Zambia’s 2-1 win over Uganda on March 5.

Meanwhile, Sunzu and Sinkala played the full 90 minutes while Mayuka watched proceedings from the bench.

However, Sochaux remain second from bottom after 29 games played on 25 points, three behind Valenciennes in the bottom three relegation zone and have eight more games to try and ensure their Ligue 1 survival.

  1. Well done big boy Sunzu! Remain focused and you will go places. Mayuka should up his game and step up to plate.

  2. When herve decided to include clubless Sunzu on the list to Angola, all the educated soccer analyst in Zambia breathed fire. With great passion, they said all sought of things as to y the PE tcher was even trying to change the number of sunzu! Is there anybody who can remember that time or maybe most u were not born. But today Sunzu is a better player. I think he owes his success to herve than to all of us. So I fobid any Zambian to talk abt him becoz we are bunch of phds.

    • No. .he does not owe anyone anything it’s solely down his hard work and himself so what is Mayuka’s excuse then?

    • This why we never develop as we have no self worth…its this selfsame type of lazy subservient mindset that is taking us NOWHERE. You praise this god of yours the PE tutor as if he was working in Zambia as a volunteer yet its us the taxpayer’s who were over paying his hefy undisclosed salary. Why is it you never praise the likes of Moses Katumbi for giving the lad the opportunity? If Sinzu was good well someone else would have spotted him as he has belief in himself.
      Wake up!!

    • @Jay Jay, what I hate about you is not your negativity its that stupidity signature of “WAKE UP!”.
You are such people who never want to eat nshima when you visit your parents (I hope you will attend their funeral), heee hee nyo nyo, in America we eat- nyeenyee this Nshima cause pains in my stomach. Wake Up!!

  3. well done sunzu and sinkala.wats happening with mayuka.i hope its just a phase.he has to improve to win a place at southampton.remember hes just on loan at schoux.gud luck

  4. Sunzu has scored more goals than the ever under performing Mayuka who is a striker….I see Sunzu being bought by a bigger club when the PE teacher’s club is relegated at the end of the season.
Let’s be serious what flight connections problems can you have from Lusaka to Paris when you have Thursday, Friday and Saturday to travel?

  5. Well done Sunzu!!! Mayuka must shed his weight in order to be robust, playing actively is different from having romantic shows!

  6. @ JAY JAY

  7. Why SUNZU the only Congolese scoring why MAYUKA from BAROTSE COUNTRY has stopped and the only Zambian SINKALA also cant score? Investigate this congolese, he must have bewitched his compatriots because he knows them having once upon a time played together in finished CHIPOLOPOLO. This is sad reading to Zambians

  8. BaJay Jay Zambia’s football prophet of doom soooo negative about Zambia! Renard will save Sochaux from relegation and from your PHD and I will be waiting for you to eat humble pie….oops I forget you can’t be humble!
