Press Statement from MMD youth
It has come to our attention that a group of disgruntled men and women in the MMD have regrouped and are scheming to unseat Dr Nevers Mumba from his position as MMD President.
As MMD youths, we have received intelligence information that this group of visionless men and women has never accepted the fact of history that Dr Mumba was democratically and overwhelmingly elected as Party President.
Using our highly sophiscated and efficient intelligence system, we have managed to trail the activities of this group and we would like to expose its underhand activities to the nation for all to see.
We can reveal that this group comprising Former Petauke Central MP Dora Siliya, MMD Vice President-Politics Michael Kaingu, MMD Vice President-Administration Brian Chituwo, Former Solwezi Central MP Lucky Mulusa, Senga Hill MP Kapembwa Simbao and unknown lady has been having dark corner meetings for the past three weeks to strategize how to remove Dr Mumba from his position.
This is the same group that is being quoted by some sections of the local media as unidentified sources of a story alleging that Dr Mumba’s draw a hefty salary from the party secretariat.
We have come to conclude that the publication was intended to cause embarrassment to Dr Mumba and dent his credibility.We are however aware of all such moves by this group of men and women who are hell bent on removing Dr Mumba from his post.
This group met as recent as last Sunday at Pamodzi Hotel by the bar area with the sole purpose of finalizing their evil plan to hijack the MMD.
We also know the venue in the Light Industrial Area where this group has also been having similar meetings from.
As MMD youths, we wish to sternly warn this group that we are watching their moves and we shall ruthlessly deal with them if they do not forthwith abandon their evil intentions.
It is evident that this group does not mean anything good for the future of the MMD because some of the members of this same group have been coming to us to give us information on the plans and strategize of this evil group.
Our Youth National Coordinator Bowman Lusambo was phoned around 19-20 Hours Sunday evening by one of the members of this evil group to come and witness the meeting and he saw with his very eyes as these people schemed to ruin the MMD.
We therefore challenge them to leave the MMD immediately. It would be selfish of them to further weaken the party which has given them so much especially that some of these people heavily contributed to the loss in 2011.
The MMD is on a path to recovery and we will not allow a few disgruntled individual to derail its well-intentioned plans to return to power in 2016. Zambians are now witnesses to the ruin taking place under the PF and they are now able to see the good works that MMD left.
The MMD, the Movement for Mighty Party is the only solution to the sufferings of Zambians and is the only political party that offers hope for Zambians.
As MMD youths across the country, our loyalty still lies with Dr Mumba’s leadership. Our role is to respect and protect the party’s constitution and we know that Dr Mumba was elected constitutionally and therefore deserves our support.
Moreover, our interest in protecting the MMD is beyond Dr Mumba as an individual but the office which he is currently occupying. We have in the past pledged to offer similar support to anyone who would occupy that seat one day.
As youths, we further commend the decision not to ratify the appointment of Kapembwa Simbao as MMD National Secretary. The decision offers the party an opportunity to find a better replacement for Mr Simbao. The MMD today requires a National Secretary who is vibrant, energetic and one who will be accessible to the media and protect the party’s interests.

You made a blunder by electing Dr. Mumba. MMD is gone and buried, you are the cause of the mess we are in now. The reality is that Nervous Mumba is a liability to MMD. Several people are ready to support MMD if they can field another presidential candidate
It is not Nevers Mumba. It is MMD itself. Maybe if you rename the party then maybe people can be fooled. As long as the name is MMD, then to the minds of the masses come corruption, arrogance of leaders similar to what we are seeing today, denying us a people driven constitution etc. Even if an angel was recruited to run MMD, he would lamentably fail. Those who want Nevers out simply want to keep the Northern, Muchinga and Luapula provinces vote intact. Period.
Suggest a name of that presidential candidate that will turn the political fortunes to MMD!

I am surprised that Scorpion Kadobi is still around. These are the chaps who were attacking us as students at UNZA when we were fighting Chiluba’s 3rd term bid. He was in his late 20s or early 30s then and now he is still a youth. Wonders shall never end.

MMD should be careful with its youth wing or this die hard whatever. Who doesn’t know Kadobi or Lusambo? These are paid hit men of PF. I hope Mumba does not suck to this group. They do not have his interests. Nevers needs to work very hard to prove himself worthy otherwise if he is not careful, he will soon have just a shell of a party. If Dora, Maxwell, Kazonga and Kalima decide today to stand on the PF ticket, that will be the start of the demise of MMD in Eastern province. If Kaingu and Chituwo move on, the cranks in MMD will widen. And if Simbao decides to follow suit, then MMD will soon be on its knees. Nevers needs to work really hard to keep his party afloat. He needs to work with HH. He has no choice. Kadobi is nothing!
