Nkana leave for Egypt

Share

Nkana skipper Sydney Kalume says his side wants to get a good result from Sunday’s away 2014 CAF Champions League second round return leg against Egypt’s Zamalek in Cairo to secure a place in the group stage.

The FAZ Super League champions left for Cairo on Tuesday afternoon via Ndola’s Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe Airport.

Before departure, Kalume said Nkana are prepared for the match against Zamalek.

The two teams drew 0-0 in the first leg tie at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe last Saturday.

“We are going there to get a good result. We are always prepared for battle,” he said.
Kalume said Nkana are not going to Cairo as tourists.

“Playing football is our job so we are not going to Egypt to sleep we have to work hard so that we go and get maximum points so that we can go to the group stage.”

Nkana have never eliminated Zamalek from continental competitions.

  1. Kalume make sure you work hard in midfield yourself and create more chances for the Team you where not up to the task in the first encounter, same applies to Claude Bwalya …..our midfield is the weakest link now…but favor all the way and all the best..

  2. OMG is this what happened in kitwe , nkana zamalek 0-0, i can’t believe it i had no time to follow the game because i knew that we have already beaten the komboni NKANA team, WELL having drawn with underdogs NKANA , ITS OBVIOUS THAT ZAMALEK QUALIFIES because the results in CAIRO everybody knows that NKANa WILL ONCE AGAIN BE butchered. No zambian team wins in CAIRO so these fulunyembaz WHERE DO THEY GET THE GUTS to beat us

  3. Theres’ always a first time to eliminate zamalek. If Orlando pirates drew with
Al aly in South Africa, and hammered them 1-3 in their own Egypt, then Nkana can do it. GO NKANA!
