The Patriotic Front-PF is not yet ready to proceed with the matter in which the Lusaka High Court granted Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba an ex-parte injunction restraining the party from expelling him.

When the matter came up before Justice Annie Sharpe Phiri, PF lawyer Dean Mumba indicated that the party had not given instructions to proceed with the matter.

Mr Mwamba was on February 21 granted an ex parte injunction as no charge was formally communicated to him about the purported expulsion.

The Northern Province PF executive committee expelled Mr Mwamba and recommended to the party leadership to expel him for allegedly bringing the name of the party into disrepute.

In December 2013 Geoffrey Mwamba resigned from his ministerial position of Defense Minister. He explained that his resignation was as a result of differences he had been having with President Michael Sata following his visit to incoming paramount chief Chitimukulu, Henry Sosala.

He said that the action he took was out of principle adding that mid last year President Michael Sata sent him to Northern Province to discuss the impasse between Bashilubemba and government over the enthronement of Paramount Chief Chitimukulu and that the Head of State was aware of what was discussed. Mwamba said that the continued silence and disparaging remarks against the Chitimukulu by government had annoyed the people of Kasama and Northern Province as a whole hence his decision to quit from government.

“They have told me that they are not happy with the decision by government to degazette Chief Mwamba as the Chitimukulu. This matter has been discussed at length with the President. But you see people here are asking me as their MP what is happening. There is no answer. I cannot tell them anything because the President has said nothing over the issues and my fear is that when I come back in 2016 to ask for votes they will reject me because it would have meant that I have failed them,” said Mwamba.

President Sata has refused to recognise Chitimukulu, Henry Sosala who was installed by the Bemba Traditional Council. The Presidents preferred candidate is Chief Chewe of Chinsali District in Muchinga Province.Unconfirmed reports suggest that money has been released to initiate a process of over throwing Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba speaking people.

  1. The implosion of PF…..Sata will be known as Zambia’s greatest opposition leader. He provides great opposition even to himself and his party

    • If he formed a party I can see him win the next elections, he is that popular I am told from my mum home.

The should tread him with care, he is the difference between winning and losing , personally I think he is the missing link to any aspiring political party

The majority of voters are people that dont understand interest rates, depreciation of currency, what they want to see is gifts , to be talked to, to relate to someone, and this where this man comes in.
It is the same strategy the Mr Sata used and sadly it is what is lagging in Mr HH

The trouble with HH is that he doesn’t appeal to someone who can not read or write , a bus conductor etc and those are the people that win elections.

Free lessons to you people, all you got to do is ask me.

      Thanks

    • @Mushota
For once you have spoken sense with some sobriety. Unfortunately at the end of it all, you spoil it by being egoistic!

    • @ Mushota,

Credit is due where earned. You have nailed it. GBM is my inspiration. I started small in a foreign country and trying very hard bit he has earned it from home. He is a man of the people.

I think he will can it too. No wonder the fear on PF. He should just always what napped to the great Anderson Mazoka and take the necessary precaution from evil deeds and he will be fine.

As I sit here in Melbourne waiting to launch a product at the Melbourne Truck show designed and built by a Zambian being myself. The GBM makes me proud how he has emerged in business.

@ Nostradamus get my detail from delgadgets.com.au and I will one day get in touch my friendly enemy. Regards

    • 10000% indicator of massive confusion within PF. This is typical of CNP behaviour. I am not surprised at all.

So far the only organised party is UPND under the commendable guidance of HH the only Hope and Help Zambia is waiting for to restore Zambia ‘s lost integrity.

GBM to me is just an opportunist without balls of steel inherent in a man who can not be bought off or intimidated by SATA and the whole PF.

GBM has a closet full of skeletons and knows that should he disobey Sata to certain extent he will be dealt with.Thats why he is afraid to resign from PF and constantly says he is in good books with Sata to avoid Sata’s wrath

If GBM is not a wimp then let him show us his balls of steel and resign from PF and re-contest his seat as an independent. Resigning from the PF he…

    • @ Cat power, you rushed your response and therefore your lines are breaking making your input a little incoherent. I know you are better than that so I will let this one pass. I agree with what Mushota has outlined above but have just one concern. Should we celebrate other people’s ignorance (majority) and hoodwink them to our own benefit or educate them so that they learn truth and make informed decisions for themselves?

    • Probably what he means is that the party has no grounds to pursue their case. It is becoming standard practice in Zambia to drag things for convenience. Just look at how the appeals processes keep people out of jail for prolonged periods of time. In this case, they are hoping to keep GBM in limbo; neither in the party, nor out of it – but conveniently attending parliamentary duty… it is a nation of shameless tricksters.

    • @Kal
You could be right but the one who would draw ultimate benefit from the delay is GBM. His party has indicated desire to hound him out and as such orchestrated delays would not be in their interest. Mind you, it’s GBM challenging the party’s action so if they delay, then just as well for him. It’s as good as a victory because as you observe, he continues to sit in parliament and accumulate gratuity!

    • He probably is ok as a politician under Zambian standards.

But a wife batterer as your inspiration??? Uli kapuba mune.

  2. yaaabaaaa ….great bag of maize (GBM) is giving some people sleepless nights, sata performed well when he used to carry out instructions from kafupi, but the instructor himself, his head has no capacity to initiate the instructions. this time its just instructing the police to arrest or the court to prosecute. ya we have dunderheads as leaders in our country

  3. Good ! It is about time the mighty PF forgot about this man.Let him enjoy his tenure so that people can judge him and his party in 2016.

  4. They were in a hurry to hound him out of the PF now they are dragging their feet! What are they afraid of? Let them expel him so that he can now freely campaign for the UPND in the north! Albeit they are aware of the damage he will cause to the PF Party if he were to go.

  5. IT IS HIM WHO IS DRAGGING HIS FEET. WHY DIDN’T HE JUST ACCEPT HIS EXPULSION AND RECONTEST THE SEAT. THIS MANURE IS A NUT.

  6. He is going nowhere on his own..way forward GBM find a progressive party obviously not the Sinking ship MMD.if you patience enough wait for the coalition, if it will ever happen. Word of advice PF is not wining 2016 elections. whats going to win elections in 2016 is the urban vote..thuggery as it happened with PF is outdated, the urban vote will do this time. The rural vote will be split based on tribal lines… lusaka and CB will be key , so all you need is a candidate who can articulate issues and appeal to the 7 million between the two provinces…so way go UPND period.

  7. Mushota, lately HH has started making sense. For once, he has wisened enough to stroll out of his tongaland comfort zone to lands yonder as seen from the eastern province project. And he means busines, something I cant say about lazy Miyanda and radio station campaigner called Chipimo. Importantly, the PF arrogance (and boy oh boy, how waxed their ear drums are!) is handing HH the initiative. And by all standards, UPND is the only party free of internal wrangles; speaks volumes of quality descipline and clear channels of communications.

I am seeing PF quaking in their pants at the mention of HH, little wonder they will never give him space – unconstitutionally so – to sell himself, which right the former Cobra enjoyed while opposition champion. How fast times change!

  8. If Sata can not see that his lunacy over the handling of the Chitimukulu issue will only split his tally of votes next time around then the man is suicidal. Take a hypothetical situation where an opposition party promises to re-garzette Sosala if elected to power? Simple logic suggests that the proverbial cat will be thrown among the Bemba pigeons. Those for Chewe will go with Sata, those for Sosala those who are for justice and tradition.

    • Mwana Mfumu your so called ba Shi Lubemba have never had kind words for Sata. They have never respected the man from the time he was in opposition up to today when he is President.

Sata opposed their manner of function from when he was in opposition a thing which led to their summoning Sata to appear before their Council on the instigation of the the ruling Party…when Mpepo a Junior Chief and MMD Party cadre rose to the throne of the Chitimukulu. Sata however reconciled with the late Chitimukulu whom he opposed and together the vowed to follow the process which has excluded Sosala. If Sosala had not been in league with HH I bet Sata would have compromised and allowedSosala to be the last Chiti who did not follow procedure. Ask true Bembas…dont ask Tongas, they will mislead you –

    • Thank you for that piece of info. No need for the tribal ending. If Sosala did not follow procedure , then Sata is right. Thats why HH was not allowed to meet the Chief.
Post are saying GBM is buying cadres from MMD for protection.

  9. The PF would be insane to sanction GBM’s expulsion after he spent huge amounts of personal cash and other resources for their success in general elections. The PF are nothing but GBM’s paupers and he can make them dance to any tune of his choice.

  10. Let GBM continue to be in PF ofcourse as a part time member like many others who are waiting for the right time to ditch the PF titanic. Rats desert the sinking ship. GBM join other members and be useful mole.

  11. This GBM guys is popular among the 14 people in the photo ( I have counted them, with a bit of difficulties-some are a bit obscure, only clenched fists seen). Let’s include GBM himself and an allowance for my miscounting, 16 people. I would go with keeping Sata until a popular learned government moves in. We don’t need more of this, am in!!

  12. Why spending all that money to destabilising Bemba Kingdom when there is Manga Sosala the God given Chitimukulu at the expense of National development? Govt depts are complaining that they are toiling to operate as there was no February Rdc funding and March has delayed and much of attention moved to useless succession wrangles created by govt. Let us make a fast forward move, we have a lot of delopment to do before 2016.
