Assembly rally to shock disappointed Indeni

Share

Promoted National Assembly on Saturday came from behind to stun Indeni 2-1 in a FAZ Super League match at Nkana Stadium.
Two late goals from veterans stanley Banda and Timothy Mbewe were enough to stir Assembly to their second straight win.
After a goalless first half, Indeni went up two minutes after the restart when Dodo Kayombo pounced on a lose ball to shake the net with a long range shot.
Indeni thought they were heading for a win before Indeni equalised via a Banda free kick from the edge of the box in the 83rd minute.
Assembly’s winner came three minutes later when Mbewe tapped in from close range to beat keeper Humphrey Mwenya.

Another highlight in the action packed second half saw Indeni coach Stephen Mwansa sent to the stands by referee Francis Lombe for alleged delaying antics.
After Saturday’s win, Assembly moves to eight points while winless Indeni remain stuck on one point after round four matches being played this weekend.

  1. In kabwe, Warriors has suffered a shock 2 nil loss at the hands of visiting Green Eagles in a game that was abondoned mid way through the second half after supporters started throwing bottles and shake-shake satches on to the pitch. The home crowd could not conceal their disappointment with Coach Wesley Mondo after watching the team put up a pedestrian performance at home.
In todays game the team was conceding possession with such monotonous regularity that had Green Eagles been sharp they could returned to Choma with more goals more than they scored.Too bad for us supporters because its looks likely we will be back in Division one next season.
