MMD Ndola District Secretary William Wilima and Ndola District Youth Chairman Cephas Musonda have today ditched the MMD and have since joined the Forum for Democracy and Development, FDD. The duo defected during a press briefing which was held by FDD President, Edith Nawakwi at the Shebourne Lodge in Kitwe.
Ms. Nawakwi who welcomed the duo urged other members of the opposition to follow what she termed ”the visionary decision” that Mr. Wilima and Mr. Musonda had made.” Today, is a particularly important day for the FDD Party Mobilization Calendar because we have the exceptional honour to be joined by two vibrant top officials from MMD who have visualized that FDD is the party of the future. we commend our colleagues for making such a visionary decision to join our journey to make Zambia a better place for all of us”
And Mr. Wilima said he had been inspired to join FDD owing to President Nawakwi’s record and standing on the country’s political and economical pendulum. “Having spent time in both Unip and MMD I have gained enough experience to discern a great leader when I see one. I have known President Nawakwi as a fearless and compassionate leader who has sacrificed a lot for this great country. I have seen that the MMD as a Party is a lost cause. I have therefore decided to join the FDD and my experience to work together with President Nawakwi and the entire FDD. I believe everything has time and this is the time for a woman to govern Zambia.”
In his speech Mr. Musonda said it is incumbent upon every Zambian to make a decision for the betterment of the future of our country.
He said he had decided to join FDD, not out of pressure but on his own volition. “I have decided to join FDD not out of pressure but out of my own volition. I have no doubt in my mind that President Nawakwi would make a better leader for our country”
The Press briefing was also attended by MMD’s Provincial Publicity Secretary, Mr. Mutayachalo, FDD’s Spokesperson Mr. Antonio Mwanza and other FDD Senior Party officials. Ms. Nawakwi is on the Copperbelt were she is mobilising her Party.
Recycling at its best.
Kikikiki, what discernment ? Lack of tompwe 🙂
Better move!
The common thing among these defectors is that they’re the ones who supported either Musokotwane or Mutati. From the word go they ‘ve never supported Dr Mumba. In fact they’re very disappointed because in their scheme Dr Mumba should have been kicked out a long time ago. These characters may not be aware that God allowed Dr Mumba to be MMD Leader. It’s like the Joseph Story in the Bible. His brothers didn’t want Joseph their brother to be Leader of any kind.Though Joseph was fought hard by his brothers,,he still became VP of Egypt.
Moving from MMD to a no Party FDD..thats’s ukupwa zoona!Yaba
I thought it was the right time for Nawakwi to rejoin MMD???and not the other way round.
