Nkana stun defenceless Warriors

Share

Nkana eclipsed archrivals Power Dynamos today after a resounding 5-0 home win over Kabwe Warriors at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.

The result left the current league leaders Power blushing after rallying to force a 1-1 away draw at Stylish Roan United in Luanshya.

Nkana did not spare struggling Warriors thanks to an inspired performance by Evans kangwa.

Kangwa scored one goal but played a huge role in Nkana’s two other goals on their way to finally picking up their first league win of the 2014 season.

The Zambia striker put Nkana ahead in the 5th minute when he headed in the opening goal.

Reynold Kampamba danced his way past Warriors defence in the 26th minute to make it 2-0.

Kampamba struck again in the 32nd minute this time finishing off a rebound after Kennedy Phiri parried Kangwa’s shot.

Two minutes after the break, Kangwa’s shot hit the post only to land at Kelvin Mubanga’s feet who made no mistake for goal number four.

Warriors then succumbed under pressure for the final goal when defender Panji Sikanyika turned the ball into his own net on the near post after failing to deal with Kampamba attempt on goal.

The win was Nkana’s first competitive victory in seven successive games since March 8 when they beat KCCA of Uganda 2-1 in a 2014 CAF Champions League first round game in Kampala.

Since then, Nkana have produced five scoreless draws, one 1-1 result and a 5-0 defeat away to Zamalek in the Champions League.

Meanwhile in Luanshya, Arthur Kasoloki put Roan ahead into the 20th minute against Power Dynamos.

Power snatched a late equaliser through Richard Kasonde to see them maintain their three point lead at the summit of the 2014 FAZ Super Division table.

Zesco too drew after squandering a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 away at Red Arrows.

Cletus Chota put Zesco ahead in the 45th minute but Stanley Nshimbi stole the three points from Zesco with an 85th minute equaliser.

  1. The game involving Zesco & Red rrows which was televised on select channel was the game of the week. However,Zesco should have carried the day had they not resorted to defending the one goal they had scored in the 45th minute, they played the second half defending and this gave arrows a leeway to bring in strikers to attack and it paid off the 79th minute when they hit the cross bar and finally got an equalizer in the 92rd minute.Zesco should learn to play attacking football as it is the best way to defend.Could it be true that both Zesco and power went to the same witch doctor to seek fortune to win the league?how come that, both teams wins, draw on the same day and are every week separated by 3 points?lets wait for this week and prove me right or wrong.
