PF calls on old members to accept new comers

The Lusaka Province Patriotic Front (PF) Executive has called on its district and constituency officials in the province to accept and work closely with defectors if
the party is to grow strong.

The Provincial PF executive, which comprised the Provincial Secretary, Horace Longwe, Chairlady, Margret Mumba, youth Chairman, Kennedy Kamba, youth Information and Publicity Secretary, Alickson Nkhoma, and Maximo Kankombe, made the call when they addressed the Luangwa District and Constituency PF officials at the Civic Centre over the weekend.
The committee advised party leaders at district level not to segregate anyone from another political party who has come to join them.

Provincial Secretary, Horace Longwe, who was the delegation leader, said the PF was a party for the people and should welcome anyone that joins them in working for the people.

Mr Longwe further called on the party officials to be working closely with their area Member of Parliament if development is to be enhanced at constituency and district levels.

And Provincial Youth Chairman, Kennedy Kamba, warned that the PF will not tolerate any leader who is not utilising his or her position in mobilising and strengthening the party.

Mr Kamba said the PF wants more members, hence the need for the district and constituency officials to work hand in hand with their PF Members of Parliament in telling the people what the PF
Government has done and what it intends to do for them.

He said the PF will not tolerate any leader or official who is not performing because President Sata is a person who wants to work for the people in alleviating poverty, hence the need for those surrounding him to be seen working.

Speaking at the same meeting, Luangwa District Acting PF Chairperson, Lackson Membe, thanked President Sata and the PF Government for fulfilling the campaign promises made to the people of Luangwa and the country at large.

Mr Membe, who is also Luangwa District Council Vice Chairman, said since the PF Government came into power, the district has not been left behind in terms of development as can be seen in the upgrading of the Luangwa D145 road to bituminous standard, completion of the Day Secondary School and provision of two ambulances among many other developments going on in the area.

Meanwhile area Member of Parliament, Patrick Ngoma, thanked the provincial team for bringing unity between him and party officials in the district.

Mr Ngoma said he was finding it difficult to work because some senior party district officials were shunning him for reasons best known to themselves.

He said that it was his hope and wish that the coming of the provincial officials will make a difference in party organisation at district level.

  1. It’s only in MMD where new comers are called names by Kaingu and Group. They don’t know that any organization which does not grow dies. And the mistakes which were made by the so-called old/senior pipo can better be corrected by new pipo with insight.Kaingu’s Doctorate in Culture can not address the intricasies of life today.
