The Nkana-Sewe Sport game will go ahead as scheduled today, Nkana have officially revealed.
Nkana secretary Ken Mwansa said the decision was reached after an emergency meeting in the early hours of Saturday involving club, CAF, FAZ and ministry of sport officials.
“CAF, according to their regulations, are likely to give us only a 72 hour postponement so we are playing today, thereafter we can go and mourn,” Mwansa said.
“In our culture this accident happened on Friday night, so we are talking about burial taking place on Monday.”
Mwale reportedly died on the spot in the Baluba area on the Ndola-Kitwe Dual Carriageway at around 19h30 on Friday night on his way from his base in Ndola to Kitwe to join Nkana in camp ahead of today’s 2014 CAF Confederation Cup Group B home game against their visitors from Cote d’Ivoire.
