  1. This PF cadre also,,,,,,how do commit suicide, when ba katongo brought more ARVs with shortages?,,, Anymore RIP, the demand on nshima will reduce hopefully the price of mealie meal will go down,,,, thats way PF is addressing economic challenges in the country

    • Evidence that people in Rural areas are still ignorant about AIDS. Sondashi formula will be available soon.

    • @Ndobo- ulanjipaya kunseko na Saulosi, HIV/AIDS is not the end of the world, these days, people with the disease are even more healthy looking than those who are not infected- no need to commit suicide- I think we need information to tell these poorly informed citizens than being infected is not a death penalty, life can still go.

    • Instead of praying for the dead, you are busy advising them. Umuntu naikulika ati no no why hang yourself?
I can just imagine how painful it was to hang on a wire…. My God pardon the deceased.

  2. LT is this news worthy? People want to know why kids are dying of malnutrition while Ministers are getting fat!

  3. SAD NEWS, Who knows, had taken another test it could have come out negative.
Ignorance of a fact is defence at law.
Besides with ART he could have even lived for another 20-30 years. Please Know your status and live positively. NGOs I urge you to spend more time and effort on advocacy and save lives than fighting politicians over the constitution. You don’t need a constitution to save people like the deceased.

  4. Did you know that:

    1) The official HIV prevalence rate in the Congo DRC is 1.3%?

    2) The Zambian rate of 16% has been artificially padded by adding upto 70% of (nationally unrepresentative) women from PMTCT programs?

If that fraud hadn’t happened, Zambia’s official rate would also most likely be 1.3% or lower.

HIV exists, but ‘HIV in Africa’ has always been a statistical construct, based on an abuse of the statistical method and the testing process. (Like using a single P24 ELISA test only, instead of multiple tests – P24, P55, Western Blot.)

Don’t die of ignorance, as they like to say.

    • I agree with you but our limited budget can`t allow the ministry of health to consider doing all those confirmatory tests.Western blot is too demanding and time consuming.

    • Am assuming they used samples from the population to come up with these stats – Which i think they did because they couldn’t have tested the entire country.
Therefore,They only reflect the information about people that have gone for a test or been tested while sick in the hospital.

If the percentage calculations are based on the country’s population then they are not accurate but just estimates.

In terms of population the actual figures of people with HIV in DRC ,Nigeria and South Africa are more than Zambia.

But now people are living longer than before no need to take your life after alla we all going to die at some point !

    • ” our limited budget can`t allow the ministry of health to consider doing all those confirmatory tests.Western blot is too demanding and time consuming. ”

The cost of working off bad data is much, much greater than a few Western Blots.

The misallocation of resources away from real epidemics kills people, the stress of mistakenly believing that 16% of the population is walking around with deadly disease – those are all the costs of not doing enough testing during surveys.

    • ” Am assuming they used samples from the population to come up with these stats ”

There are two kinds of surveys. The Antenatal Clinic survey (ANC) of blood taken from pregnant women in urban areas only, usually a few hundred in number, using only the P24 ELISA test. The other is the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS), which is statistically representative of the general population (men, women, adults, children, urban, rural, etc.), over 10,000 samples (14,000 in the Congo DRC’s DHS), and they also seem to use a P55 ELISA test to confirm a positive P24 ELISA test.

As a result, the DHS consistently shows much lower national infection rates.

    • Please MrK, contact the Ministry of Health, CSO and CDC to obtain the official protocols used for conducting the DHS and the ANC surveys, so you learn what each is weak and strong at and the correct testing algorithms used. Also consult a statistician or analytical epidemiologist to understand the margin of error in each estimate yielded from these surveys, and that from the Congo estimates before you misform us any further based on questionable references.

You may also benefit from literature explaining why HIV prevalence is different from contry to country…why it is higher in Zambia than in Congo, and higher in SA than in Zambia…and why it differs between places but within the same country.

Otherwise stop quoting subjective statements meant to paint a gloomy picture about…

  5. Why did he go for the test if he wasn’t ready for the outcome ? Reason why i don`t encourage people to do these tests in the first place unless they have health issues.Rest in peace dear coward.

    • Cowards are those who fear death. The brave take wire, climb up tree and jump, they are not even afraid of heights. Now you know how to do it, we are too many on this website, 1300 viewed this story… damn.

  6. ……typical example of subjecting someone to the test without pre counselling…..

LT reports on suicide usually leaves one to wonder how it happened…..how could the police find the body lying on the ground…??…did someone cut the wire before police arrived..??…that’s not allowed……did the wire snap while he was struggling..?…or snapped when he ‘threw’ himself…..??….then chance of survival was great….

    • Man wandepula…………..@ brave men ‘re not scared of heights, indeed its bravery! With this increase in test results mistakes,i’ll never go for VCT,NO!!!!Anyway like the sayin gose,”The brave will be remembered but cowards live longer,MHSRIP.

  7. Ba LT in the paper it says alinya nokunya, HIV is not the end, sondashi formula is on the only if these manipulative manufacturers of ARV’S dont hijack the whole process for thier own selfish benefits…. bafik..la.

  8. So next time before you go for vct first start by going to church hear what the word of God say and read the bible daily you will discover life is beyond what you can imagine God is the giver of life..You come to know and believe that you will be brought back to life again no matter your condition by the owner who gives life.Besides think about the majority of people who are enduring incurable diseases where by every day they have to inject themselves atleast for him he will just need to swallow those arv tablets,do some cd4 count reviews and life goes on.
