Nkana begin life after existing the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup with an away FAZ Super League Week 22 encounter against in-form Kabwe Warriors at Godffrey ”Ucar” Chitalu Stadium on Saturday.
Defending champions Nkana return to league action a week after being dumped out of the Confederation Cup by Ivorian side Sewe Sport via a 3-0 loss in the Group B decider in Abidjan.
Fifth placed Nkana are 12 points behind leaders Zanaco with nine matches to spare before the end of the campaign.
This match is expected to be tricky for both Nkana and ninth placed Warriors.
Warriors lost to Nkana 5-0 in the first round match played at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe on May 3.
However, this match may not be another walk in the park for Nkana as Warriors have undergone positive transformation in the last two months that has seen the club climb from the bottom of the table into the top nine.
“This is the most important game because we have to start picking points as the league is moving towards the end. We must respect Kabwe Warriors and they must respect us,” said Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi.
In other matches, leaders Zanaco are visiting Mazabuka Town to face Nakambala Leopards at Nakambala Stadium.
Zanaco have picked just one point from their last two matches.
Elsewhere, bruised second placed Zesco United are hosting Red Arrows in Ndola seeking redemption from last weekend’s 2-1 loss at Power Dynamos in Kitwe.
