Government has expressed its disappointment at the manner in which developmental projects were being implemented in north western province.

Provincial permanent secretary Amos Mapulenga has since warned heads of government departments in North western province to stop frustrating government efforts or face dismissal.

Mr. Malupenga was speaking when he officiated at the provincial development coordinating committee in Solwezi today.

He said development in the province is lagging behind due to lack of commitment from heads of government departments in the region.

He wondered why K500,000.00 meant for the construction of maternity wings at four different health centers in the District is still lying unutilized when government released the money in February this year.

Mr Malupenga also sought an explanation from the department of water affairs in the province on why Solwezi airport has continued operating without running water.

Several officers from different government departments were at pains to explain why government projects under their care have stalled.

The permanent secretary has since called for the change of attitude among government officials in the province adding that they must work to fulfill the expectations of the public.

  1. MALUPENGA THATS WEN U HAV COME 2 KNOW NWP TOWARDS GENERAL ELECTION BUT ALL ALONG PEOPLE HAV BEEN CRYING BUT U DECIDED TO SHUT YO EARS WITH YO TRIBLE GROUPING IN ORDER 2 TAKE DEVELOPMENT TO MUCHINGA AND THE NOTHERN REGION.WESHALL WAIT FOR HH NOT U SIR

    • I do not believe a word any PF minion says. The money Malipenga is talking about is just a promise or a PF lie. That money is not there at all. So don’t be cheated.

Muzungu Opuusa also lied that PF had released over a billion Kwacha for FRA to buy maize from the farmers. But up to now most farmers in all the provinces are angry due to non payment of their money after having given FRA maize more than three months ago.

Only idoits believe what PF says.

  2. Set objectives and review them every quarter. Fire them if they fail to meet their objectives period! Don’t waste your time warning them

  3. This is all the fault of the Luvales, Kaondes, Lundas, Luchazis and Kachokwes. You are a people that tolerate a lot of BS honestly. If Zambians were docile then you are pretty much sleepy dead. How can you allow your resources to leave your province and benefit Muchinga? Do you think that would happen with the people of Muchinga? Would they allow revenues earned from fish farming to go and build a university in Chavuma? Let me very blunt with you—you will not see the so called development in your area not now not tomorrow and probably never. In fact, what you need is to develop your attitude first. You need to learn how to articulate national issues, you need to learn how to educate your own, you need to learn how to stand up for yourselves. Most importantly, you need to learn how to vote.

  4. I agree with malupenga. it´s either we have old and tired guyz in the positions of HOD or These guyz are ant PF.
do´nt expect anyone to clean yo home when u have all the Tools at Hand. if we N/westers are going to contue folding our arms and do nothing but enjoy watching the underdevelopments in the province while we have funds lying idle, surely then we can´nt blame the PF OR the MMD but our lazyness
Or maybe we are waiting for the Lusaka guyz to speak on our behalf.
where is the so called Council of Elders of N/W, they should be picking up such lapses and make followups.

    • Don’t blame the workers when the money Malipenga is talking about is not real but just a promise.

PF do not develop areas where they have no MP.

  5. Mr.Malupenga if you have nothing, its only wise to remain quite otherwise its hopeless leaders like you who are contributing nothing to this province.
Don’t blame civil servants but your PF government which has no agenda for North Western province.
Are you not ashamed of your self that no any single road is being worked on under link Zambia 8000,no single township road is being worked on under pave Zambia and no single clinic is under construction apart from what MMD left.
Its the MMD of Sata that left nothing to the province.
Now to fools look Wise don’t take North Westerns for granted, you want us to carry guns? otherwise this is the cause of civil wars when left unchecked.
What PF goverment has managed to achieve in three years is the construction of toilets at Solwezi market…

  6. But during the mangango by elections we were told ‘there is massive infrastructure development countrywide’ So some areas have not seen any good road pf always sings about? Surely, there is selective development pa zed.

  7. The people frustrating govt programmes are anti PF, remnants of MMD and UPND double agents. The govt needs to fire and prosecute many of these troublesome civil servants that are disturbing the govt programmes. These are the same ones causing delays in the running and execution of service delivery be it in the councils or the ministries.

  8. First of all, people must understand that Kansanshi Mine started its full operation in may 2005,now before that time money was coming from copperbelt to develop infrastracture such as roads and hospitals ,so dont try to overzealous over one or two mines that u are having at the moment.

  9. Agony is to be a northwesterner, sitting impotently, watching wealth of the province being stolen by muchinga and everyone else! O God, am one. the word to describe our failure to act does not exist yet.Not even “stupid *****s!”Just look at the quality of leadership, eg, MPs. You want to vomit. Locally, one would count on chiefs to lead their people to demand and get what is due-do we have? Anyone with balls enough to join me?

  10. Is Solwezi growing with a plan or just haphazardly? Its the latter. Structures are built the way of mushrooms. This is because everyone who has come to the town since the province’s mining boom is only interested in their pocket. Unlike Northwest, the British colonisers planned for the Copperbelt mining towns of Mufulira, Kitwe, Chingola Luanshya. These towns had engineers who even if racist still organised structures.

  11. Teaching Service Commission should cancel the interviews held chipata college of education. Peo and his team have shame. They were not free and fair
