Zambia defender Stopilla Sunzu is a doubt top face Niger in Saturday’s 2015 Africa Cup Group F qualifier away in Niamey.
The defender from French Ligue 2 club Sochaux has left camp due to a family bereavement following the death of his sister.
Zambia coach Honour Janza said he could not state whether Sunzu will be available for the Niger doubleheader that will conclude in a second leg match on October 15 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
“Everyone is aware he has a bereavement. He will say whether he is ready to go or not,” Janza said.
“From a football side, we have to go forward, the game has to be played but it brings some challenges without him because he is part of this family but we mourn with him.”
Meanwhile, the team is expected to fly out to Niger at 08h00 on Thursday morning on a five hour chartered flight from Lusaka.
I wish we had DERICK MWANSA clubmate to CHRIS MUNTALI to be his number not Muntali coz i don’t trust him unless if SUNZU can fry.
TOO BAD to his sister, May Her Sour Rest In Peace.
Use Donashano Malama or Chris Katongo
This is when Hichani Himoonde would have been handy as he did against Japan and earlier against Brazil. Playing Rodrick Kabwe and Kabazo will extremely be challenging because both players are so shaky and even worse with Munthali.
Too bad Chongo Kabaso is not reliable..I watchd a mistake he made when Tp Mazembe playd Setif in Tunisia.
Kabaso Chongo is not a player. I also watched him in Tunisia. Even in that game against Mozambique, he was a very big suspect together with Sunzu. For Sunzu, he repeated that in Cape Verd.
LET THE DEAD BURY THEMSELVES READS THE BIBLE.SUNZU SHOULD GO TO NIGER BURIAL NEEDS LESS 10 PIPO
Judge, ili tole. thanks
It’s clear janza doesn’t know what he is doing and if we go with him alone, we shall fail to qualify. I hope the new coach stays. Let’s face it, most local coaches really need to advance themselves.
Guys you don’t need a local coach. How many of your local coaches have had a successful background in football apart from Kalusha himself? The answer is non. What Zambia need is someone who has had a massive experience both as a player and a coach. Your Kalu should stop hiring all these coaches is getting from the street. They are of know help to waste your weakening kwachas.
A good coach doesn’t necessarily need to have been a successful player. Tell me which team Mourinho played for?
Where is Nkausi?
Sunzu should play for his late Sister, she would have loved him to go and play for Zambia. His the best player we have so far that plays on a regular basis for his club, unlike some of these fikalas that are just bench warmers.
