Coach Beston Chambeshi has regretted Nkana’s failure to defend the FAZ Super Legue title.

The outgoing champions officially surrendered the league title on Saturday after succumbing to a 3-0 bashing at Zesco United in Ndola.

Chambeshi said it is painful that Nkana will not play continental football next year.

“It is painful but this is football we have to accept maybe it was not our year,” he said.

Chambeshi said the absence of key players who were with Chipolopolo in Niger such as Ronald Kampamba, Christopher Munthali and Donashano Malama affected his teams performance against Zesco.

“When you are playing crucials games like this and you miss your regular players this is the result.”
Chambishi is already focusing on next season.

“Next season we have to organise ourselves and see where we have to improve and in terms of beefing up the team,” he added.

  1. Thought he said we missing key players but have enough good players to cover.anyhow, think nkana has done well this season still, it’s greater task to be involved in continental football at the same time.waiting to see power win this league as per earlier prediction.let’s wait shall we?

  2. Bringing Chambeshi to Nkana was the worst mistake that was made. I am not a prophet but I don’t see this team going anywhere under this man. It’s the same thing with the national team under Janza
