MMD President Nevers Mumba has described the death of President Michael Sata as devastating to every Zambian.
Dr Mumba has since sent his deepest condolences to the family of President Michael Sata, to the Patriotic Front and the Zambians on the death of the Head of State.
Dr. Mumba says the death of President Sata is touching and that Zambian people are mourning with the family of the late President.
He adds that this is a time for political parties to put aside all their political differences and join the country in mourning.
Dr Mumba has encouraged the Zambian people to join hands and give President Sata a befitting sendoff.
The MMD leader has further urged the people of Zambia to pray for peace and unity in the nation during the transition period and also pray for wisdom for the Patriotic Front as they oversee the transition.
And Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) leader Edith Nawakwi says the death of President Michael Sata is devastating.
Ms. Nawakwi says it is sad that the President has died at a time the country is celebrating its 50 years of independence which he should have witnessed and celebrated with the people.
She says the people of Zambia were in one way or the other touched by the smile of President Michael Sata as he lived amongst them, Laughed and joked with them as well as made them, but that sadly today, the tears of the Zambian people flow endlessly.
She notes that the pain is too much for the people of Zambia to bear.
Ms. Nawakwi says Zambians must get together and comfort each other without looking at which political party one belongs to.
The FDD leader they belong to as President Sata was not just President for one Political party but for all Zambians.
Ms Nawakwi has since encouraged Zambians to be strong and mourn the President peacefully.
Ms. Nawakwi further states that her heart goes out to the first lady, the family and the people of Zambia.
ONLY the UNDER5 has not yet sent his condolences. still thinking of what to say. goodness doesn’t come naturally it seems.
That’s because U have a callous heart…. That is if U have a heart at all.
Iyo twabalila Ba Kateka. It’s so sad though. “Ask dem, ask dem. You are the so-called reporter, ask dem. Ati ba reporter”. We will surely miss Ba Sata.
No names mentioned , still voting me down. why make presumptions. RIP HEMCS.
crocodile tears! Mwefipondo imwe!
Well from the news I watched on MUVI TV HH was the first one they showed expressing his condolences then Nevers Mumba in that order. Maybe Lusaka Times have their own reasons for not mentioning him.
Nawakwi says the pain is too much for all zambians to bear. WHAT PAIN IS SHE TALKING ABOUT? i don’t feel no pain!
You can’t feel pain when you are brain dead. Kikikikikikiki.
NEVERS’ CONDOLONCES ARE GENUINE. NAWAKWI???? NOT SURE. HH SHOULD NOT EVEN TRY, NOT EVEN GO TO THE FUNERAL BECAUSE HE WILL JUST EXHIBIT THE BIGGEST HYPOCRICY. HE KEPT CALLING MR SATA ‘CNP’ SO WE DON’T WANT CROCODILE TEARS.
LET HIM GO TO MATERO AND GIVE MEALIE MEAL TO THE POOR.
@Katongo Nsamba, My friend thats just politics. HH is welcome to release the message and attend the funeral. Didn’t Mr Sata also call Mwanawasa and FTJ names when they were alive, and yet he attended their funerals? Mulekwata amano guys. All politicians are hypocrites. That you should get in your thick head.
@Katongo Nsambe-Dr Mumba ‘closed’the life of Sata with Love by instructing ALL the 52 Victory Bible Churches to pray for Sata before his death.Pipo may not know spiritually what this means. The next Jubilee Season Leadership, should be those of Love and Fear of God.50 Years in total:KK ruled for:27 yrs,FTJ-10,Mwanawasa-7,Rupiah-3,Sata-3:GRAND TOTAL:50 Years.Rupiah belongs to the past Jubilee. This Jubilee Season has to come up with it’s Leadership.
very True man, I don’t what HH will say, he is still constructing sentences. HH has a heart of a witch and that of a Hyena. Now what HH wanted has happened , we will see how he win the by-election. HH and UPND now you can ascend to power…90 days are just near by.
Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.
This is what happens when the only source of your news is Lusaka Times. HH was one of the first to express his condolences!
Very encouraging to hear messages of good will from patriotic Zambians and Opposition Leaders towards the demise of our President. This is how human beings should live. This is leadership. At least we can show the World that besides playing politics ,we are human beings. Everyone who lives is a potential funeral and corpse. Bravo Nevers, Edith, Elias and all well meaning patriotic Zambian who have given their thoughts about what we are experiencing right now. I would encourage the Patriotic Front to incorporate these men and women in the funeral programs to shame the devil.
We may have divergent views politically but at the end we are one and same people of Zambia. Peace, peace, peace as we mourn I pray . Our beloved God preside over the Nation, Zambia.
Awe chabipa sana Bashi Chilufya wesu mwe…..
This is how a normal person should live. Not like the U5 (HH) we will see how they will win in 90 days. Who will vote for him? Sorry maningi ngati siwuwina apa just go to your bush farm. Zakanga zinthu
We the sane people of Zambia will VOTE for him (HH) irrespective of tribal propaganda. And I speak as one from Northern Province; I belong to Chitimukulu.
No more Nkandu Luo nonsense……mwine Lubemba alaingila nokuteka.
Don’t west your time guys HH just has already spoken. Am in Zambia he spoke on ZNBC news
No one in his right mind can vote for HH. That should just quit politics. I would rather vote for Chama Chakopoka the late than voting for person who just divide Country on tribe ground.
What wisdom is there in voting for a man who dies half way his first term? It was so foolish of you to vote for Sata. You all knew that the crook wasn’t fit enough but for the sake of tribe you went ahead and made him president. That greedy man failed to groom a successor for you now your party is like a headless chicken. You don’t have any credible and marketable person to face the likes of HH and Nevers. The 90 days lie is coming to destroy PF.
I will vote for him every person has one vote. We have known you with your tribe appointments.
Time to elect Never Mumba a healthy man of integrity
Still pf bakamba,
I just hope that Zambians can keep negative comments about politics during this time of mourning. Whoever will be President of Zambia, God has already decided, no matter what anyone tries to do a say – you cannot change God’s design for Zambia!
May the soul of HE President Micheal Chilufya Sata rest in peace.
In all senses, unless the PF mess it big time, this is not the time to change for a new political party. We need PF to complete its term. In 2016, I will give HH a chance so that I can then eveluate his real national performance. Currently, we all just assume he will make a good president based on his personal successes.
Kindly, please don’t bother campaigning to me as my mind has planned for the next 10 years who to vote for.
Right now we mourn our dear departed president.
Leadership comes from God yet needful for contenders to put their names forward and favorably compete. While others will be lost into mourning, others will be busy strategizing to win next soon coming by-election. It would be important for all contending parties to apply their energy to mourning and campaign thereafter burial in order to avoid disrespecting the dead as campaigns can raise unhealthy dust. Also important for parties to be alert with sense of care to party standing. Others may be very ,very busy right now making moves how to win these elections. so all not to dose off and bury heads in sand. a rude shock may await you. Peacefully mourn but be alert to avoid crying foul. At same time parties to nip all ugly faces of confusion intra -party.
I hope the Zambian people can allow mr Scot to continue until the next elections in 2016 than having by election Now and again in 2016.Mr Sata had done it for Zambia and MHSLIP
MWE BANTU BAKWA LESA, IT’S ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION. DON’T LOOK AT TRIBES. THE AL KNOWING GOD KNOWS THE NEXT PRESIDENT.
I wish there is a Lozi to stand as President for mother Zambia.Followed by tonga.
