Agriculture and Livestock Minister Wilbur Simuusa has warned that the PF risks losing the presidential by election if party members do not unite.

Mr Simuusa said it will be tragic for the PF to lose the presidential seat because of ongoing party wrangles.

He said all factions in the party should come together and mourn late President Michael Sata in peace and dignity.

“If we lose the election, it will not only be this clique or that faction that will lose. It is the entire PF family,” Mr Simuusa said.

He observed that conflicts in the PF will only work to give advantage to the opposition.

“We should all rally behind the candidate that will be selected to contest the election on behalf of the PF because this is the party that Zambians trusted to manage national affairs in 2011.”

Mr Simuusa said wrangles in the ruling party will strengthen the opposition and force Zambians to turn against it during the poll.

Mr Simuusa who is also Chingola MP also denied reports that he is a member of the infamous cartel that is said to be working on imposing their preferred candidate on the party.

    • No one other than Edgar Lungu would receive sympathy votes of Zambians to possibly retain the PF mandate to complete the 2 years reign. Otherwise, this is for the taking of a United opposition.

Wait until President Sata’s body is interred 6 feet and foreign leaders leave the country. Zambians will lock up the country politically to reclaim their land, democracy and constitution in a quest of restoring a new order of accountability, constitutional reforms, justice, development, national unity in diversity and enduring peace all alien to PF cannibalism.

    • Imwe ba so called Senior Citizen? such sweeping statements are not even found in dracula the movie “Zambians will lock up the country politically to reclaim their land, democracy and constitution in a quest of restoring a new order of accountability, constitutional reforms, justice, development, national unity in diversity and enduring peace all alien to PF cannibalism.”… how do you even manage to come up with such nonsense? impressive!

    • It’s non of our business.

PF must be voted out of office. Sata and PF despite promising rule of law have left us at the mercy of the cartel and panga weilding cadres. Now we fear the cartel more than we fear the ordinary citizens of this country who should be the employers of the president. We need sanity.

    • The behaviour of the opposition has been very impeccable so far during this period of nation mourning of the late president of Zambia HE Michael Chilufya Sata who died in London on 28th of October 2014. Search your souls and ask yourselves what kind of party and leader you would want to lead Zambia going forward. Do you remember the litmus paper test? This is it! The PF have been tried since September 2011 until now and their catalogue of errors is free for all to see. MMD brought multi democracy to us until the wheels came off finally in 2011. I urge all voters to turnout in numbers and vote in UPND to give HH a litmus test until 2016 with a seal approval to continue beyond 2016 if performance is trending up. Two PF failures stand out. Failure to tell the truth and the constitution.

    • …multiparty democracy and seal of approval suffice to say the message is in the writing.
What has been going on in The PF ranks has been astounding and will go down in history as the lowest ebb the nation ever reached in its young democracy. You saw the ugly face of politics right there on the centre stage. Remember that you are the referee and you are the trophy at the same time. Whom would you like to win you over and take custody of your trust right now? PF, MMD or UPND. To help, here below are the candidates of the main respective parties.

      1. The PF…………Candidate: Mr Any Hyena
      2. The MMD……..Candidate: Mr Very Nervous Mumba
      3. The UPND……Candidate: Mr Hurray Hurray

    • …..^^ Astounding??? astonishing is meant…..predictive typing issue. Any one seen my PA /secretary Mushota? I might give the job to George Chellah. Zambian name ending like this one …..lah, is questionable but this is where we at right now! Just Kubeba!

    • HH akosefye kwati ba yama ba late MCS lost how many times and did not get frastrated. Lets teach HH how to be a patient and strong man by not voting for him.

    • no no simusa we dont trust, you guys are embiciles and liers u showed us your true dont ukubeba colours no more. kick these iddiots punishing zambians with wedge freeze

    • Mr Simuusa in September 2014 dared UPND MPs to resign if there is no Presidential bye-election in 4 months. As fate would have it, there will be a bye-election in January. So UPND MPs will not resign, but will HE?

  1. Simuusa & Sichinga r the ONLY LEARNED GUYS who shud stand for Presidency NOT thse Stup!d Kabwili. & GBM.
We want learned guys to run our economy!! NO MORE GRADE 7s.
If Sichinga, Lungu or Simusa wont stand PF will loose

    • Are you of a sane mind? How can you honestly suggest that a muppet like Sichinga is presidential material? I suspect you must be taking some illegal substance that requires the visit of DEC officers!

    • Really in PF you have a leadership crisis, you mean shi Noono is on the cards as well. Which ministry has he managed successfully so far? For Simuusa he knows the feeling of Chingola voters based on his performance as their MP.

    • Don’t forget there is also ka Given Lubinda very bright lets wait for Wed next week it will be interesting people

    • @A Chisala: It seems you are just too educated to the point that you no longer know how to use your educated brains. The most educated are not necessarily the best Managers; the Best Managers are not necessarily the best manager. It’s about how one applies himself well to the call. People go to school for different reasons. If a grade 7 can paddle a canoe using a tactic that is cool enough for me to be safe on water unto the other side of the river … then that’s the man for me. Tell me how many successful Presidents where proper intellectuals. You waste your time talking school instead of perfecting your skills. So, what degree do you think goes relevant to Zambian Politics? Is it a Degree from UNZA (Political Science)? School is there to help you bring out a skill you can from…

  2. Mr Simuusa the best thing you should do as a party is sit down scrutinize who is bringing all these wrangles and send him out of the party. There some big fishes within your party trying to fueling up Guy Scot to behave so arrogantly. We the people of this country has seen positive development going on country wide and we need you to continue and conclude the project.

  3. Zambia believe in continuity but not at the cost of condoning revisionists of colonialism, chaos and all inimical conduct seen from the PF. No doubt this is for the taking of the Zambian people through the credible and responsible opposition. A united opposition is set to dump PF into the dungeon of political history.

  4. All this mess is due to lack of isomo on the CEO.. Where in the world does some one pick a Deputy a vice in this instance but does not want them to deputize when he is away… Why appoint him in the first place ??? A learned person is needed and young for new ideas.. I hope fossils like Banda ,Chikwanda will keep away this time….

  5. Wilbur Simuusa Wilbur Simuusa Wilbur Simuusa Wilbur Simuusa Wilbur Simuusa how do you expect people to vote for PF in chingola when you as their MP have disappointed the people in your constituency??
    Please Simuusu!

  6. EVEN THOSE WHO ARE CALLING THEIR FRIENDS AS A CARTEL ARE ALSO ANOTHER CARTEL. IT JUST DEPENDS ON WHICH CARTEL YOU BELONG TO.

    • The only candidate for PF is Guy Scott, PF is out if they do not put Scott, Edgar is not presidential material seriously, dont just support because he is from the east or he is black zambian, i mean if H.E Sata MHSRIP is still alive , no one would have even imagined of Lungu being a president. The time we will waste in experimenting with leadership will cost us dearly. Zambia Forward!

  7. When you walk or drive through nchanga’s area , pot hole roads, high, unemployment rate, eratic water supply, poor planning of new plots, no drugs in hospitals and other problems will great you in that part of chingola. If simuusa who claimed to be Mr. Wind full tax continued pushing his goals up to now, no doubt that most of problems mentioned above would have been thing for the past. It is shocking that even the roads leading to these MPs houses has pot holes and residents still expect better roads in their areas? Abash PF in Chingola and its Halaise Halaise this time

  8. This badly fused PF rocket is gonna explode on the launch pad. It’ll be tragic if Zambians retain PF after all their toxic leadership.

    • Pf members enjoy plundering each others bottom with extra soya sauce while mmd enjoy enjoy rubbing each others holes with honey garlic sauce; evans mfula at evaduco reporting live from lusaka and living in a servant quaters

  9. ZAMBIANS DONT LEARN THE SAME MISTAKE WILL BE MADE,THIS THE TIME THEY SHOULD A CIVIL, SOBER AND LEARNED GOVERNMENT NOT BA KAPONYA,AS FOR CADRES YOU ARE USED LIKE USED CONDOMS YET YOU ARE THE PEOPLE WHO STARVE AND LEFT TO DIE LIKE A DOG AFTER BEING USED NA PANGA

  10. Until such a time when Zambians will become disciplined enough to exercise proper judgment when selecting leaders, the drama will continue. Many countries in Africa have long passed that stage.

Democracy does not mean that anybody can be a leader. It means citizens are able to scrutinize their prospective leaders and vote for the best to rule over them. So far, that has not been he case. It has been BUYA ZONKE – THIEVES, DRUNKARDS, etc. have been voted for as leaders, as long as they are not from the next village!

    • Totally agree with you @13,just across the Zambezi,Botswana has just held a very peaceful election. What a shame that Zambia has gone back to pre stone age era.

  11. If Zambians are disciplined enough, they should send PF into early retirement. It is not a party of civilized people.

    • Iwe chi matungu shut ur mouth, its clear you are pro UPND,regardless of wrangles in PF,still the ruling part will win, your HH has no patience,he doesn’t have what it takes to be a president, even the manamayo voted for HH last general election they ve vowed to give PF more votes.

    • @Mazabuka fan,It is obvious you are a die hard pf cadre and even if a frog stood as presidential candidate for pf,the majority of the members would vote for the frog because it is pf.
I sincerely urge you fellow citizens not to vote on party or regional lines but to consider the profile of the candidate. The most important question is,
1.will the person unite Zambia under ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION?
2.Will he find solution to the youth unemployment.
3.will he develop the country equally, not his region only.
      4.will he uphold the constitution
5.will he reduce the size of cabinet
6.Will he release the draft constitution
If lungu ,Simuusa,Lubinda,HH or Mumba can answer at least 2 of the above, then vote for them.

    • @mazabuka fan: You can check my record on this blog and elsewhere. I am not affiliated to any political party in Zambia. There have been numerous instances in the past, when I have castigated UPND and sneered at Tonga tribalism. On other occasions, I have attacked MMD and its myopic leadership.

Here is the point. Just as Tonga tribalism cannot be sincerely denied, so is Bemba tribalism, which is far more rife. Just as UPND may have issues, PF’s issues are far worse and disgusting.

What is my choice? It is a choice between two evils, UPND being the lesser of the two. It will be crazy for any Zambian who loves mother Zambia to decide for PF in the forth coming by-election. The sooner PF are bundled out of office the better off Zambia will be.

  12. Guys please educate me…Are all the parties going to be putting up their candidates or is it just PF for President al bye elections?
I am confused what Wilbur Simuusa is saying?

    • Yes, other parties are eligible to field their candidates as well. In 2008 RB barely scrapped through via a rigged vote.

  13. The answer to Zambia’s problem is to make sure to remove the PF government. Infact I for one I have never considered PF as a government but a an organized group of criminals. To prove my point take for example as soon as they come to power without planning they quickly borrowed huge a mounts of money from private criminal organization in the name of euro bond at a high interest rate without any care how we shall pay back and kick start projects without proper tender procedures all road contracts were cut at state house. They quickly became rich through kickbacks and yet making famers and other Zambians poorer by removing subside. Now they imposed wage freeze because of there careless spending. This is why they are fighting like this they fear the new president will expose them. The answer is…

  14. Rather, it will be tragic if PF wins. They are a bunch of rascals and cut-throats. They do a better job as an opposition party but not as the ruling party.

  15. Infact it will be better for PF to lose so that we have peace in our country. The demise of Sata has shown that PF was only him and that there was never unit in the party as each member was pursuing their own agenda. Now to prevent anarchy and wanton confusion, it is better for PF to lose.

  16. Simunusa is talking nonsense, it’s common knowledge he is one of the useless minister in PF and only survives on the whims of the cartel. This guy has been a mess on the economy of the country. I work with him . He has been dismissed in just about every job he held, ask his zccm contemporaries. He has no plans on how to pay Farmers Pf must get rid of him for the good of progress.

  17. I hope simuusa will support Edger Lungu.Otherwise ba Simuusa u can’t win even in Chingola.U’re the only MP in copperbelt who has failed people. Please support Lungu .Your cartel(Membe) won’t win anything

  18. PF what type of lies will you invent?

I bet if Zambians a myopic, then they will be cheated again. Even if you attempt to carry a sack of stolen money, let see if you will bribe 15 million Zambians

    Things to consider
Holding our paramount chief Chitimukulu Sosala hostage in his kingdom/land, no respect for the shilubembas, Western province, – cheated over baraotseland agre
    1. Youth:
    a) No jobs for you for the past 3 years which you were promised
    b) No bursary for those that wanted to go to colleges and university
    c) Wage freeze for employees and cost of living is high
    d) Fuel cost & staple food if high
    Farmers:
    1) Country wide, your produce are rotting and FRA has not bought your maize
    2) Police harassment / and no constitution

I would like to see if Zambians…

  19. I can bet a billion dollars, PF won’t loose. In fact it will be a landslide. The same way the opposition were taught a lesson in which PF won 4 out of 6 by election in opposition is what will recur in January 2015. Take it or leave it. PF can put even a bottle of champaign as a candidate and still win.

  20. Its already tragic. However UPND would be another tragedy. MMD worse. But I think HH can make a great leader for the nation. Mudala HH kalandeko naba Guy Scott bakubike mu pact elyo ngafyatampa ukwenda bwino ukabe ntambalukuta

    • There is no solution in what you are saying. Everything that is PF is bad eg wage freeze, panga wielding cadres, internal conflicts, Cartel nefyashala – atase. My vote will surely be influenced by the wage freeze and the firing of nurses.

  21. Simusaa what is tragic is that the Zambians were duped into voting for a bunch of incompetent liar like yourselves. It will be a great day for this country when you are finally given the boot, and its gonna happen man. Twatendwa!!

  22. YOU CANNOT BLAME THE PF FOR THE CURRENT LEADERSHIP CRISIS IN THE NATION. THE OPPOSITION HAS ALSO NOT PROVIDED A CREDIBLE CANDIDATE SO FAR. THE ONLY ALTERNATIVES MMD AND UPND ARE PROBABLY THE WORST. MMD WITH ITS EMBATTLED MUMBA AND A HISTORY OF PLUNDERING THE WEALTH OF ZAMBIA CANNOT DEFINATELY BE A CHOICE. UPND WITH ITS REGIONAL CHARACTER AND ITS INABILITY TO REMOVE ITS TRIBAL TAG IS STILL YET TO FIND ACCEPTANCE AT A NATIONAL SCALE. THE OTHER PARTIES MAY BE GOOD BUT ARE TOO SMALL TO REMOVE PF FROM POWER. SO WE ARE STUCK WITH PF. YES, PF IS PROVING TO BE A VIOLENT PARTY. IT HAS DONE SOME GOOD. WITH GOOD LEADERSHIP THEY CAN HELP THIS COUNTRY. SO FAR NOT SO BAD WITH PF. SOME 90 DAYS PROMISES WERE BASICALLY UNATTAINABLE BY ANYONE. BUT LET THE OPPOSITION PUT ITS HOUSE IN ORDER FOR 2016.

    • I agree with you Chisenga. Completely no leadership in the country. Imagine President Kambwili! President Nawakwi! President Miyanda! All wrong

    • Perhaps UPND doesn’t practice dirty politics to waste time on removing the so called Tribal Tag which they know its just a campaign saga by its enemies.!

But now that PF is entangled in Bemba Tribalism , how is it going to remove it ?

I guess its through Imposing Edgar Lungu even though its well known fact that Edgar is not presidential material, right?

Such kind of politics shall never help develop zambia and will continue being subjected to mediocrity leadership.

      The choice is your.

  23. Can PF rise above its factional challenges? This is a moment of truth and an opportunity to heal of the disease of intra-party factions. This political malaria is not unique to PF, the MMD is also hit. I pray that you guys don’t disintegrate. In the long run political establishments (parties) in Zambia will have to undergo structural reforms where party “Sponsors” organise party leadership election activities to avoid and dissolve party presidential powers. The sponsors will determine whether it is fit for people like HH to fail the party 3 consecutive times or 10 times or falicitate the election for a more vibrant UPND candidate to take it to Mazoka time. I hoped this was constitutional. Don’t tell me Sata made it to SH on the 3rd attempt, ishuko lyamunobe, talyendelwa.

  24. Simusa be fair to yourself, I am PF myself deep in my heart, but are you happy that as PF we have brought a culture of cadres wielding pangas and threatening people. Are you sure as PF we should continue being in office, no ways. As a responsible PF member and true PF, we should give power to others who can bring sanity to this nation. I feel for our children to start growing in such an environment.

  25. Timely warning to the Zambian populous: Mind the irresponsible, toxic and unethical media circles that think they can use their God given talents to try and sway your innocent course of electoral conduct. We have two notorious media conveyors, one online and the other print; they are like venomous snakes capable of dragging the nation into unrecoverable turmoil and untold chaos. I hope Home Affair and Defence will minister the affairs of the nation post SATA in a more professional and admirable tone to make Zambia shine in the eyes of God and the rest of the World. Let me remind you also that we just celebrated our Golden Jubilee. Let its meaning live up to the peoples expectations. Ine nasosa! Sosa Sosa ichalo chilekumfwa! Nalikwebele lobe!

  26. Please read article 39.
It says that the President will appoint another person to perform the duties of the office of the President where:
    “The Vice President is incapable.”
Why then should be quarreling about the capacity of such a person when the President is dead.
The President, under the law, saw it fit to appoint another person to obviate and avoid the issue of automatic succession.
Why is this so hard to understand. It is all in the constitution.

  27. The only way forward for Zambia is to eliminate the PF and get them buried with their leader. The PF is a symbol of anarchy, lawlessness, corruption, lies, tribalism and confusion. See how they are destroying each other to be president even before Sata is laid to rest.
How can they be expected to lead Zambia to prosperity? No way!
Zambians, open your eyes and avoid falling into the same pit twice.

  28. …slowly but sure the senior members are now openly acknowledging that there is a serious division and existence of a so called ‘cartel’….
….why is he using the word ‘if’ instead of ‘when’………PF loses..??

  29. This is the same dude who dared the opposition UPND members ‘to quit if there will be no Presidential by- elections in 4 months’. Wondering what he would say now.

  30. Simuusa tell your senior PF that advice and not us.its you people to lose and not us PF lovers as you dont give us anything!your right man to defeat any opposition candidate is Edgar Lungu!you’re busy making noise instead of collecting views on the ground.use OP too.so many voters are only talking about Edgar Lungu!HH is not a factor as his party only has southern province!

    • Eddy HH is a factor.wacth the space. In 2011 he 568,000 votes to win this election he just needs another 500,000 votes. This a penalty to HH. Thats why he is calm ,he has already done his home work. Zambia shall experience an election campaign that has never been seen as HH rolls out his machinery already the ports in Europe are packing some campaign staff. In Zambia bicycles and other materials are being transported all over Zambia. Iam a ware that PF will have there convention on 22 Novermber and call for election sooner than January to catch the opposition by surprise. What I have given is special data.MMD has no money its asking 10,000 from MPS,what a shame.

  31. Who is this cartel causing people sleepless nights? Some people are responding “I am not one of the cartels” on almost every day. Can these so called cartel come out and deny they are not the ones referred to if they do exist. If they do and cant own up then they are cowards who want to ride on others I would call FRONTS to make noise . We want unity in our country because the little understanding of CARTEL is that they can cause havoc. If we know them why not tell them off.

  32. Simusa; God appoints leaders and if He (God) was with you, lies will not have been the order of the day. He (God) would have told our leader to put his house in order and he will have left the house in order. The fact that this is not the case, goes to show that PF will not come back to power and if PF bounces back then Zambia is not led by God. Anyway we want to see or hear that MCS left a will probably Sata’s will, will clear all these issues and we will all accept Sata’s wishes but if not then God was not at your side.

  33. Those who eat roads will vote for PF. Those who do not realise that Lusaka is littered with pangas will vote for PF. Those who will be fooled for the second time with a 90 day sweet will vote for PF. Those who do not feel the pain to be told by a government official that kuimwena the government is not responsible for educating your children will pay for PF. Those who are completely blind that key government and diplomatic positions went to one tribe will vote for PF. Those who do not know that government ministers raised their salaries 3 times in 3 years and imposed a wage freeze on the poor civil servants will vote for PF. Those who do not feel the impact of removal of subsidies and have 3,meals a day will vote for PF. God is Great!,

  34. Those who eat roads will vote for PF. Those who do not realise that Lusaka is littered with pangas will vote for PF. Those who will be f00led for the second time with a 90 day sweet will vote for PF. Those who do not feel the pain to be told by a government official that kuimwena the government is not responsible for educating your children will vote for PF. Those who are completely blind that key government and diplomatic positions went to one tribe will vote for PF. Those who do not know that government ministers raised their salaries 3 times in 3 years and imposed a wage freeze on the poor civil servants will vote for PF. Those who do not feel the impact of removal of subsidies and have 3 meals a day will vote for PF. God is Great!,

  35. PF WILL ONLY LOSE THE BY-ELECTION IF THEY FIELD IN GUY SCOTT OR KABIMBA.

THEY WILL WIN IF THEY FIELD EDGAR OR KAMBWILI.

KAMBWILI IS CAPABLE TO CARRY ON THE WORKS SATA WAS DOING. HIS CHARACTOR IS VERY SIMILAR TO SATA.

  36. The opposition should just spare us the pains of a bye election and let PF go unopposed, after all they did not expect this contest until 2016. It will also help them to have time to reorganise themselves against the incumbent’s record, b’coz this time they will be coming against the momentous phantom of the late and Mighty Sata’s unmatchable record…..

    • @D’Kap
Are you making a practical joke or merely pulling our legs by suggesting that PF should be left to continue? Maybe you have never seen how vicious the PF thugs called cadres are. Ask those people at the Chelstone Police Post whose cars were smashed by machete-wielding, stone flinging, and insult spewing PF cadres on one Saturday afternoon a few months ago. The police offices hid under their desks while the marauding cadres ran amok. If this is the kind of party you people are pride of, I’m afraid we have long ways to go!

  37. Why that supposition? Is there something going on in secret that will dictate that supposition! PF just elect a credible person to steer for continuity.

  38. At the rate PF is going down digging their hole, they will soon discover oil as UPND is taking over. Bye bye Cobra and PF. You ran your race and now time for UPND. Sata was PF and PF was Sata.

  39. people who sleep upside down never reason and judge to see the presidential material like HH. as a chingola swag i see to it that only HH and UPND can improve CHINGOLA. VIVA HH VIVA UPND

  40. Myself & Wanzelu will blog seriously after the burial! We are finalising & strategising for a vivid probable walk over presido bye-election.Well done PF for the unprecedented social-economic development vividly country wide.Surely you shall win very easily.

  41. Impersonation-PF will surely booted out this time around!Which unprecedented social-economic development can it show the voters?Which lies can they design & to who!If Lungu is level headed & analytical,he will forgo the PF candidancy for fear of total humiliations & intimidations from voters.Watch this coming drama soon during campaigns.Lungu should leave this to illiterates like GBM,Mulenga Sata & Kambwili.

  42. Point of correction. Simuusa is MP for Nchanga constituency in Chingola. Chingola MP is Dr Joseph Katema. Edgar is a good man now the problem is his drinking habits. Too much KACHASU aLungu. I feel Given is the best. Hope he is in the race also.

  43. While I agree that the survival of pf depends on uniting,I think people like simuusa will make pf lose because of his incompetence.chingola is a sad site to see because of the bad roads

  44. Verily, verily, verily I tell you! If any opposition party leader should win, Zambia being the country that it is, the Panga-Wielding pf cadres will simply turn around and follow that new leader. And the new leader shall welcome them! The chaos shall continue!

  45. This by-election is a choice between two evils, Between PF and UPND, the later is the lesser of the two evils. Any Zambian who will vote to retain PF does not really love mother Zambia. The sooner PF are kicked out of office the better off Zambia will become.

  46. HH is the next president. I invite you read the article on ZWD where Sata’s document on HH’s wealth, and who is HH?

You will see that HH will is a big fish, I mean he is rich already, all he needs is power to assist the poor and put the Zambia in the global map. The catholic father wrote that Sata was the last Jubilee leader of the old generation and indeed we need a new era. HH is just 52 years, so just one year younger than Barak Obama. I rest my case
