The Patriotic Front in Western Province has unanimously endorsed Matero Member of Parliament and Commerce Deputy Minister Miles Sampa for party presidency.
Addressing the media today, Patriotic Front Western Province Chairman and Member of the PF Central Committee Kenneth Namutulo said the ruling party should without fail follow laid down procedures enshrined in the constitution regarding the presidency of the party.
Mr. Namutulo said the party should hold a national convention where PF members will elect a leader to field in the fourth coming presidential elections following the demise of the Party’s founder Mr Michael Sata.
He said the central committee does not have powers to elect a candidate but that the power is in the PF membership who should elect its leader at a general conference.
Mr. Namutulo explained that the patriotic front in Western Province has settled for a youthful and hardworking leader in the name of Miles Sampa.
He said after analysing those with interest to contest on the party ticket, Western Province settled for Mr Sampa because he is hardworking as can be seen by the development in his constituency.
He said the province however supports acting president Guy Scott.
And in an interview with ZANIS, Western Province Information Publicity Secretary Maxi Kasabi and Provincial Publicity Secretary Child Liboma said the entire province want to field Mr Sampa so that he can continue with the developmental activities left by President Michael Sata.
All the 16 districts in the province together with the PF leadership and all counsellors have endorsed Miles Sampa.

There is serious desperation among the ranks of the Cartel led by Mmembe, Kabimba, Guy Scott and their financier Dr. Mahtani.
To be fair, members of the PF party should think and ponder hard on the following events:
(1) Despite the fact that President Sata was a good “friend” of Guy Scott, why did Sata avoid appointing Scott to act as Republican president? There must be deep-rooted REASONS why Guy Scott NEVER assumed the Acting role in Sata’s life span.
(2) What prompted Musa Mwenye (Attorney General) to tell a BIG LIE that Mpombo was Acting President when Mwanawasa fell ill?
(3) Why did Scott rush to fire Edgar Lungu as Secretary General of PF? Who advised Scott to dismantle Sata’s appointment?

All the avoidable by elections have been as a result of an opposition MP gone wrong. Either they corrupted voters and their seats were nullified or the party on whose ticket they stood doesn’t have proper mechanism for scrutinising aspiring MPs. How do you explain the calibre of people you choose to stand on your ticket if they fall for the first attempt of enticement? Put simply, if you marry a prostitute, is it the prostitute who is foolish or you?
For the second question….awe sure!!! You expect a sitting president to pay for medical expenses when you don’t even allow him to pay for food?

In order to save and serve Zambia, we have only one credible option for PF and Zambia. The only option I see (and I hope everyone can though we seem to cast a blind eye to it) is ABC – Alexander Bwalya Chikwanda. The reasons are:
1. He is already a threat to the Cartel. They knew he is the natural choice to succeed and that’s why they attacked him first. And it seems it has worked for them. But that can change.
2. If we have to continue with development programmes initiated by the late MCS, who can best do that than the money man, who understands those plans better than anyone else – MTEF. SNDP etc.
3. He has the experience, the tenacity and maturity needed for the office of President.
4. He is easy to sell to the people in a short time since he is known by many Zambians already.
