Struggling Red Arrows on Saturday thumped Nkana 2-0 away at Nkana Stadium in Wusakile to ehance their chances of surviving relegation.

Second half goals from Paul Katema and Francis Kombe were enough for Arrows to collect three points in this FAZ Super League Week 29 tie.

Arrows came back from the half time break with new ideas that saw Katema head in the opener in the 47th minute.

Kombe who is on loan from Nkana stunned his parent club with a 73rd minute goal after round up defender Amos Simwanza before beating keeper Rabson Muchelenga’nga with a low shot.

Nkana were left ruing several missed opportunities wasted by striker Festus Mbewe and midfielder Shadreck Musonda.

Musonda had directed a close range shot at keeper Ken Mumba in a one-on-one situation on the nick of half time.

Earlier, Mbewe shot just wide from inside the box after being set up by Kelvin Mubanga.

Arrows now moves to 35 points while Nkana remain stuck on 49 points with one match remaining before the season ends.
