PRESIDENTIAL aspirant Miles Sampa must stop alarming the nation with his delusory attempts, because he is not a factor in the forthcoming election, civil rights activist Brebner Changala has said.
Mr Changala has advised Mr Sampa to stop fantasizing about assassination attempts against himself just because he has presidential ambitions.
“This is a political fantasy; he is trying to excite his followers. All said and done, they cannot achieve their aim, and must not start making wild allegations.
“Zambia has no history of killing political opponents, why should it start with him (Sampa) and for what gain?” he asked.
Mr Changala said in reporting to the police, he hoped Mr Sampa had named suspects since he claimed plans were advanced.
He however said Mr Sampa was merely making wild allegations which should be ignored and treated as a false alarm.
“If it was UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema or Edgar Lungu, we could have given it the benefit of doubt but for Mr Sampa that is mere fantasy,” he said.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has set December 17, 18 and 19 as nomination days for presidential candidates’ for the January 20 polls.
Mr Sampa has said that he would form another party to enable him contest the January 20, 2015 presidential elections if the Supreme Court rules against his appeal.
He has appealed to the Supreme Court against the High Court decision to dismiss his application in which he was challenging the consolidation of Mr Lungu as PF party president at the November 29-30 Conference in Kabwe.
“Status on my Presidential bid is that there are a number of cases in both the High Court and one referred to the Supreme Court.
“Notwithstanding and regardless of the Court outcome, be assured that I will be on the ballot paper on the 20th January 2015,” he said.
Mr Sampa said among his options included working with the UPND while he cemented his grounds for future presidential contention.
“Option 1: I will stand on the PF ticket if I win the court case; option 2: I will stand on my own party, form my own party, I take a leaf from the old man (Sata) who went ahead and formed his own party, or back any other political party candidate,” he said.
Sampa should not worry, let him put his name on ballot and he ll be shown the door quicker than he thought. He shouldn’t forget to resign as an MP
I understand Sampa`s frustrations. The judiciary in Zambia is rotten. Only in Zambia can you`ve a judge confessing after passing judgment that she is related to one of the persons involved in the case, and yet the judgment is still upheld.
And some of the so-called High Court judges in Zambia are not even fit to be magistrate court judges.
Young Zambians should side with Sampa. These old fox will mess our country for their benefits. The whole Judiciary system is corrupt and rotten. sorry to say but its full of dull empty old f.ools who think they will be there for life.
To get their favors they want Useless Lungu in power.
Let’s watch because PF will try to rig the election. We should be very vigilant.
This guy Changala smokes mbanja. What “delusory attempts” is he talking about? Away with politics of cohesion.
Sampa is a sore loser who resorts to tantrums when he doesn’t get what he wants. He has teenage girl syndrome.
UPND cadres really surprise me , a few months ago this guy Brebnar was a darling of ZWD when wanted medical board, but today they are insulting and demeaning the guy.
HEADLESS CHICKENS . QUACK !!!
Aaah ba sampa naimwe. go to sleep we beg you. it was ur uncle and not you.thats the problem with giving chances to relatives. he is so delusioned with being president. twanaka mwee
I agree with you bro. I wonder if politics is there for self or the masses. It is better your honour Miles to unite with your fellow members, we do not want you loose your dignity. Remember any action you take now will determine your future political life. Think twice Sir.
Mr Changala as human rights activist you take issues of assassination against Sampa serious. Paul Tembo, Baldwin Nkumbula, Ronald Penza, and others did not die without a cloud.
Great point @Austern.
It’s so strange the Mr. Brebner Changala, the so called “Human Rights Activist” can forget the cold blooded murders of Wezi Kaunda,Richard Ngenda,Cuthbert Nguni,Paul Tembo,Ronald Penza and Nkumbula by FTJ and Xavier Chungu
@ Austern and Independent, It might be that Mr Changala was not yet born to know circumstances around Paul Tembo, Baldwin Nkumbula, Ronald Penza, and others. Anybody can be threatened with assassination or be assassinated and police should take reports made by any citizen with seriousness deserved than use the Changala yardstick of determining who should be credible to raise fears of assassination
\even me iam so surprised with mr Changala .iam giving a benefit of doubt my be he was mis quoted by journalists. If its true iam disappointed with him.Cool it Sampa wont get yo Job in UPND.
He is a fake Human right Activity-it is shocking that he even has no clue of talented and accomplished politicians such as Penza, Tembo etc, who lost their lives through political enmity. Trouble with pa Zed is that there are just too many pretenders, you find people such as Changala holding on to these NGO positions like personal to holders because it is a means of survival and not a calling. The sad thing is, this saddening attitude has spread even to churches (Pentes) who hold on hold to their top position until death do them part and even then wives or sons are quick to take over even when there already more capable and accomplished non-related Pastors in the church who can take the congregation forward. Its a shame indeed……
It could be true. Sampa leaving PF can mean he leaving with followers which is not healthy for PF. Desperate situations call for desperate measures. And as my fellow blogger @ Austern has pointed out – Ronald Penza, Paul Tembo etc “did not die without a cloud”
I am now wondering what this “Human rights activist” Changala really stands for
I must say it makes sad reading and I hope its just fear. This why we have been advocating for the rule of law. An environment of impunity and violence can make citizens fear for their lives even when there is no real threat. Mr Changala, please let him speak his mind without impediment.
Changala should something happen to Miles, you will be answerable.
This boy is overrating himself. He knows in his heart of hearts dat he cant beat Hon Lungu at any convention. We waited for him & his sponsors at de GC but they failed to show up for two days, fooling us all who attended.Let him cheat those who were nt there at de GC.Infact de second GC had a lot of fake delegates.Mrs Atanga was on record havin said dat she registered 2003 delegates but when i came to voting, only about 1200 voted. What happened to the other delegates? As if dat was not embarrassing enough, other contenders failed even 2 produce de 200 supporters who where supposed to back their bids. What a shame. How can Mr Sampa grow big headed with 900 votes out of a possible 5000 votes? Immature people are difficult to handle & am sure even Dr Scott & Fred M’membe shud be…
Why do people refer to this guy as human rights activist? He’s far from it. He’s a PF supporter and a real danger to human rights promotion. Miles Sampa has a right to report threats to his life, which I find more plausible considering PF history. Didn’t they burn his personal Taxis recently? What makes Changala the custodian of Zambian history to claim that no one has ever been killed because of political ambitions? What about Kapapwepwe, Baldwin Nkumbula, Paul Tembo, Ronald Penza… The police and public should not listen to this Changala guy
I understand Sampa`s frustrations. The judiciary in Zambia is rotten. Only in Zambia can you`ve a judge confessing after passing judgment that she is related to one of the persons involved in the case, and yet the judgment is still upheld.
lets not just attack people for the sake of it. Changala is right who can benefit from killing a riff raff like M. SAMPA? the boy is surely inflating his importance yet he is a nobody. i was surprised to see him drive around in GRZ vehicle scaring himself. and y use a term like assassination instead of killing.
Mr Shula maybe you take it that you are a nobody but remember that there is no one that is a nobody as we all have a family back ground which is primary in recognizing each one of us as a somebody. Do not just insult Miles Sampa out of envy for achieving what you haven’t. For your own information there is a marked difference between ‘assassination’ and ‘killing’ do your research to have a better understanding.
What a tool, why am i not surprised its coming from
Sampa.
Meanwhile
Lungu is sailing into the state
House. ……
Mushota Mushota…am still waiting for the curtain measurements please before Edgar arrives. ..am running out of time…
I will only change the curtains in the state house living room
Please get back to me ASAP

Samoa has reason to complain! Why stop him.How can one inspire for presidency while holding on to ministerial position?? comprising the situation? All those who cover wrong things shall be answerable!! Samoa is right don’t threaten him
Option 3: Come back to reality and support your late Uncles party from which you benefited greatly!
15:56:3 Lusaka Times u ar profesional cos u balance up stories and coments unlike ZWD which is a campaign tool for UPND.Zambians ar too clever to be cheated. They can read between the lines.
I for one am impressed with Lusakatimes and would like to donate £1000 BUT THAT WOULD MEAN BLOWING MY COVER.
And this is coming from a Human Rights Activist? Sir you are a f00l. You need to see what REAL human rights activists do and say. Would have been better to keep your trap shut.
Like him or loathe him, Sampa, like every human being has the inherent right to life. There are laws to support this. Instead of rubbishing his claim, I’ll edit your statement to show you what here’s what you are supposed to have said:
“
If it was UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema or Edgar Lungu,we could have given itSampa must be given the benefit of doubtbut for Mr Sampa that is mere fantasy, and we will uphold the paramount right to human life for him and any other Zambian ” he said. You may copy this and reissue your foul statement…
Mr changala the human rights whatever do your search before you write on public media, zambia has no history of what, please which Zambia are you from?
elyashi ili ba changala its now making sense for u to talk .i totally agree with u on thise even though av been one of your long standing critic.
i also wanted SAMPA to stand on pf ticket but the people said its lungu thats n it dindnt hapen for sampa thats democracy n he shud accept.
but for him to start sicking attetion from people by claiming that there are people planing to asassinate him its un acceptable.
I’m for Sampa,it’s about time all youths stood on their feet .Sampa is a good inspire .
When are we going to support each other as youths.
Sampa is a very courageous man and very smart.
Keep fighting my brother we have your back.
Was story hunting like a big game hunter…
Wonders will never cease…
I just spotted a one sided, myopic political mouthpiece… I hear those are abundantly found disguised in electoral bushes as human rights activists. Ye gads!
This cheap political activist(PF) must be really shallow to think that Miles is not a factor in the current political scenery: Should Miles decide to join HH, which I feel would be the best option, he will definitely carry along with him a huge following to the opposition camp as well as making UPND even more national since Miles in from the Bemba speaking natives. This would be the more reason why someone would want him to get killed. Chengala must be either history blind or simply dull to deny thst assassinations have never occurred in Zambia, as other bloggers have adequately listed those who were assassinated politically.
Sampa overrated himself. His only tangible qualification in politics is that of being Sata’s nephew. The chaps is 44 years old and yet the muppet still wants to be considered a “youth”.
Changala is not the spokesperson of the Police, so he should keep quiet. I am not a fan of Sampa but I feel he is justified in fearing for his life going by the way Lungu and his gang have usurped the PF Presidency. With characters like that former U.T.T.A man (as Kambwili calls him) the young man has every right to fear for his life. Ba Brebner sometimes keep quiet about things you are not privy to. We all recall how late Paul Tembo passed away tragically just after another infamous Rock of Authority conference held then by the Mwadya Mweka Daddy (MMD) many years ago.
THE PRINCE, just to repeat what has been said before, this by election is not about age. It is about the best plans to stabilize Zambia and take the country forward. Some of the best ideas are propagated by both the young and old. We cannot afford to discard the best ideas simply because they have been given by HH, or by RB, or by Edgar, or your young Sampa for that matter. Look at the utterances of Sampa, look at his misplaced ambition, surely are you normal to suggest that anyone should desire Sampa to become president on 21 January 2015 just on the basis of his age?
So far the best articulation of ideas to take Zambia forward have come from RB, and he has the benefit of experience and a track record for guiding the national economy through a world recession.
…And if you are tracking the current world economic indicators, you will have noted that the world is once more on the path to recession. I don’t have to tell you what that means for Zambia but I can tell you that RB is able and capable to take Zambia through recessions, I can also tell you that the so called vision of PF is no more than plagiarism, i.e. UImplementing the road and infrastructure development plans which were planned by RB and his team. RB had to stabilize the national economy before he could implement those plans, and PF came on the scene to enjoy the gravy. The Ministry of Finance has admitted this publicly while defending ABC from false corruption allegations by the Past newspaper, remember? RDA CEO should also not pretend that he does not know these things.
Assassination? Wrong use of words.he does not fall in the category of people whose killing can be called assasination.he is not a national figure,we can call his death mere murder.he just want to commit suicide.he says people are urging him to form a party.those phoning him are his many girlfriends
dear u have said it. u cant use the term assassinate to a nonentity
Changsha is very right, the poor young man Sampa has become delusionary and may need psychiatric treatment. Besides, the men who are suspected or could have cleared the Tembos, Penzas etc to are all dead now, and the reasons for that are buried with them.
So any living creature can become President of my country? Ok.Even sampa? He is miles away from it.some names have a bearing on individual destiny.he will always be miles away from opportunity.sampa wants to be president & thinks to join upnd, are u going to overthrow my inlaw HH?end of sampa, remember BY,Dean Mung’omba mtsrip
Changala, who killed Ronald Penza, Baldwin Nkumbula, Ben Mwiinga, Lucy Sichone, Kaunda’s son, Arthur Wina, the people of Chawama who were killed by Sata’s machete cadres, the young men from Western Province and Paul Tembo? We can add Sata to the list looking at the scramble for PF presidency. All these people were killed because of their political stance. KK’s hands through his famous Special Branch guys are stained with blood.
Come on mate!! They would have done Scott by now!
Sampa is a fair target, he wants to destabilise Zambia. That is not in our nations interests.
Changala represents the people with right thinking as stated in His Honour Judge Chali. Changala is a man who fights for Rights of others and would not err in his analysis of the Sampa case.
Sampa makes no sense. He has already a solution to his problems. He has stated what he will do if he loses. It is a good path to take since it will lead to less friction in the PF Party. The Supreme Court should not have to deal with petty, mediocre cases based on ego.
Best option is for the Supreme Court To list his case for hearing on 21st December. Adjourned it and on 22nd throw it out of court. By so doing Sampa will be given a Contemptous hearing which is past time to lodge his ‘new party’ candidacy with ECZ.
He wants to set our cities on fire; let’s start the fire under his…
Also, the Judge must be extremely Contemptuous to Sampa;….. perhaps even fall asleep with loud snoring while Sampa argues his ‘case.’
Waking up, lifting the Gavel, banging it down and bellow loudly at Sampa, “you are an imbecile! Get out if this court…….denied!”
Let’s start the fire under his pant seat!
Sampa is deluded- not at all leadership material. A suit and bought american degrees do not prove squat.

Normal reasoning Zambians should realize that PF has always been & will always be a party of tribalism, nepotism, rascalism, violence, lumpens, scums, thieves, lawlessness, retrogression, & economic prostitution. As clearly evident from the recent happenings, this is a party that can not even uphold its own constitution. Contrary to normal expectations, the party instead promotes & condones violence & lumpenism. Surely, how can you entrust a pack of jackals like PF to rule & run the affairs of mother Zambia. Hopefully, Zambians will vote sensibly come Jan 20 2015 & salvage Zambia from these rascals and jackals!
