Losing Patriotic Front (PF) presidential candidate Seleman Banda has called for unity in the ruling party ahead of the January 20, 2015 presidential elections.
In a statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today, Captain Banda said all PF members should support party president Edgar Lungu in order to win the presidential by-election next month.
“All well-meaning members of our mass party, PF and in upholding the rule of law should rally behind Honourable Lungu,” he said.
Capt. Banda noted that there can only be only one president at a time hence the need for PF members to remain united as a democratic party.
He said differences should not override the bigger picture of unity in purpose following the court ruling that Edgar Lungu was the duly elected president of the PF.
Capt. Banda has since charged that victory is certain for the PF come January 20, 2015 through Mr. Lungu as president.
These fools failed to run a convention, how can they be trusted to run the affairs of a nation. However knowing how docile and backward the general populace of Zambia they’ll will be voted into power. Shame
Who was running affairs when Sata was in hospital. Chikwanda stated that “Sata was an absentee landlord” so who was running affairs of the country? No wonder whoever comes in doesnt matter its just the same thing, coz all you talking, u just talk without unbiased analysis.

I for one will not vote for PF in the forth coming. I do appreciate the infrastructure progress they’ve made in the last 3 years (although other people are saying this has been achieved against a backdrop of heavy borrowing and corruption). The reason I won’t vote PF is their governance record especially under EL. I think he is a good man but the people around him are really mean people who don’t seem to care for human life weighed against money and power. Cadres have become too powerful in parties without anything being done. People are still losing land, they still operate stations. I don’t hear any of the politicians say anything on this. I would rather walk on gravel than my land be grabbed I remain paying a loan. Advise EL to address this please

PF cadres are hilarious.HH’s wife is by his side and supports him all the way. He is a man of strong family values and like all successful leaders in history he is able to seperate family from politics. Thats why in PF you have widows and wives that think they are entitled to inherit leadership. Nothing against women being involved inthe political process, but when they choose to they should stand on their own conviction, merits, beliefs and adjustments. .. “Not ati my husband this my husband that ” Once again this goes to show how HH is a wiser candidate than Lungu.
Mr. Lungu notes that by 2016 by the will of God, he will come up with his own vision.

I have been thinking of voting for HH since it became clear that we are having a presidential bye election though my party is MMD. I though this time just this time I am going to break with my tradition and vote for HH. Now the way HH supporters and ZWD are insulting their opponents especially Edgar Lungu makes me think twice. How will they behave if they are in power, if they can behave like this while in opposition? I think its not too late for them to change their strategy before they put off a number of undecided voters like myself!!!!!
