HH campaigns in central Province (With Pictures)

Share

UPND(United Party for National Development) opposition Party President Hakainde Hichilema, has maintained that the UPND would improve the plight of Mkushi residents if he is elected into power.

Mr. Hichilema was speaking at welfare Ground in Mkushi District on Sunday, during his campaigns for the Presidential By-election that have been slated for 20th January 2015.

He said that his party would effect the reduction of energy costs, namely electricity tariffs, adding that reductions would be effected in other items such as fertilizer and mealie-meal.

He said that although Mkushi District was renowned for being a leading agriculture production region, he was saddened to learn that residents cited high poverty levels as being amongst the pertinent challenges.

Mr. Hichilema said that if elected, his party was determined to introduce moves that would reduce the cost of production for all sectors including agriculture.

He mentioned that the UPND had plans to offload other interventions such as the support for irrigation, cheap loans for marketers and small businesses, as well as subsiding education from primary to tertiary level.

He stressed that the efforts of his party are focused on creating the environment that would avail jobs for youths as well as make it viable for businesses to thrive.

Mr. Hichilema also stated that his party would lift the current wage freeze pertaining to civil servants, as well as reinstate all Nurses that were sacked by Government last year.
He criticized the wage freeze, explaining that the move had impacted negatively on the efforts to mitigate poverty as prices of commodities had continued to increase.

The ECZ(Electoral Commission of Zambia had set 20th January 2015 as voting Day for the Presidential By-election, leading to several political parties commencing their campaigns.

  1. Introduce Dual Citizenship,
    Stop nepotism,
    Promote One Zambia One Nation
    Created genuine jobs,
    Increase govt Revenue Collection,
    Reduce national debt,
    Stop anachy & violence,
    Restore Zambian pride overseas,
If you want all the above
    vote UPND & HH2015

    • The PF cannot convince us that they will improve the lives of Zambians as they have already been given the opportunity to do so. They lied innocent poverty stricken citizens that they would have more money in their pockets but people pockets are still empty. Now they want you to vote for them again? Even a fool can tell that they are liars

      Vote HH

    • @Abana banfumu: well tabulated. I am sure the man is listening to the concerns you just listed. True perceptions have to be changed though Sata was so much full of Nepotism. Bembas and his relatives everywhere.

Let HH rule as well. good thing is that he listens.

      Vote for change. Vote HH

    • What is UPND’s plan on Building Infrastructure, Debt Reduction, upholding Zambia as a Christian nation , marriage between a man and woman and the value of life, Media Freedom, Public Order Act, freedom of speech, empowering youths and Locals with a feasible and tangible economic and productive environment , quality healthcare and zero tolerance to medical tourism, credible elections, zero tolerance to Political violence. Zero tolerance to Corruption and nepotism. Please do not direct people to read the manifesto every UPND member should be able to articulate and summarize answers when asked what the Party stands for in order to market and campaign for the party.

    • The painful truth PF is failing to accept is that these crowds are for people who willingly used their own means of travel to go and listen to the next Zambian president -HH.

Its still amazing how LT has failed to show aerial view of HH ‘s rally crowds in Kabwe and Kapiri, very small towns compared to Kitwe. 80% of the people came out to hear HH’s simple but effective message on WHAT to do and HOW to get the job done in order to improve poor people’s lives.

For Lungu’s rally, people were being ferried even from other nearby towns in GRZ buses , van and trucks to just go and quench their curiosity as to who this Lungu drunkard is.

Muvi TV even had a clip showing people complaining about PF ‘s visible failure every where.

PF zealots still have their heads buried in sand…

    • I feel sorry for Edgar Lungu. I think he will only manage 20% of vote. Even in small town like Mkushi & Kapiri Mposhi, HH is gathering crowd basa!! He is going deep in places even Sata never reached.

    • Ba LT. YOU CANT BE ASHAMED, show atrial panaromic view of HH rally in Kapiri a small town his cloud was bigger than Edgar”s in kitwe, Zambians just to ZWD and see.

    • Wrong!!! The masses want to hear that they will be given FREE things like money, beer, mealie meal. They will suck up on your empty promises but don’t want to hear that they also need to work hard.

That is why you are not popular, Sir.

    • To HH…

If on 20th January 2014 Zambian voters decide to continue with PF and its lack of respect for the rule of law, its tribalism, unworkable populist strategies and thuggery, please retire. You are not as desperate as EL and RB for personal financial gain. Go back and continue with your businesses. You cannot force a horse to drink water even if you offer water to it in a desert. Let them continue with mediocrity. Look at Somalis. They are all over the world because they could not identify a good leader even when they were presented with some. I say the same to progressive leaders like Dr. Nevers Mumba. I know you to be a kind and capable man but, well, the devil does not want such to lead us. One day, after much suffering the Jews came back to their senses.

    • Just what am I seeing here…is this HH rally or Tilyenji Kaunda. ….i mean what happened to all the supporters he had 3 Weeks ago?

      2015 vote PF ( Edgar )

      I thank you

    • HH is really trying very hard but it’s not just working out..
      Nothing is happening. …

Just take a close look at the images…..HH is all but done

      2015 vote PF ( Edgar )

      I thank you

    • @chile1

Just look at the PF Cabinet, PF PSs and people in senior positions

Why should PF senior officers always say don’t put people of the wrong tribe

PF ARE A BUNCH OF TRIBALIST that is why the reality of HH taking over is painful to absorb

HH has been saying ONE ZAMBIA UNITED and even communicates in other local languages, but PF is stuck with ……………………

      ONE ZAMBIA UNITED

ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION, ONE NATION ONE PEOPLE

    • HH has never been tribal. You can tell a tribalist by appointments one makes when in power. We all know who the tribalists are. Just check out the appointments in top Gvt positions – Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Managing Directors of Parastatal companies, Perm Secs, Foreign Service appointees you will know who the true tribalists are!

    • Iwe ci Mike HH has never been a tribalist but it’s the likes of you and others who tagged him. Sata and his team were the worst tribalists Zambia has ever known. We are moving forward with HH

  2. H.H the man who will make us believe money aint everything in life especially wen pipo don’t love you. He is going down as an example in the history books for failure to make it to presidency even wen he had money, ruling party was fighting and getting endorsement from one man parties

  3. I thank God for providing us such a leader for Zambia at last.

    He is not a tribalist?

Vote HH now 2015 president of Zambia, Im very excited right now such that I have an orgasim now.

  4. LT

YOU JUST PICK THESE PICTURES FROM HH FACEBOOK AND WATCHDOG AND HAVE PUT YOUR LT SYMBOL LIKE THEY ARE YOUR PROPERTY

YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO INDICATE YOUR SOURCE LET IT IS PLAGIARISM

    SERIOUSLY

    WE WANT BALANCED REPORTING

  5. I am perplexed because you ca not say there were many people of course there were people who are none voters (children) That is how the difference is with RB and EL in their rallies there are adults (Voters).

  6. Given all the space in the world to be handy picked as a candidate on UPND ticket and the space and time before PF kicked its campaign, it is evidently clear that HH has no chance on 20th January 2015, lets face it. Are these the people someone has been boasting about? Just look at the expression of Maureen, I think she is regretting her miscalculation.
Edgar is sweeping the country like fire despite all the spanners from the cartel and Scott.
GBM our family member will be joining the Edgar Lungu team, a confirmation that PF is democratic and is a people’s choice.

    • How irritating for someone to say PF is democratic after what we went through in the past 3 years:

      No Press Conference but Facebook
      BGOCCA attacks
Chasing HH and UPND by Police from Eastern province
Use of Public Order Act exactly the same way colonialists did
Having majority of Ministers (Cabinet) who make decisions from same region
Refusing to give constitution after promising 90 days
Serious infighting within PF showing lack of leadership
      Tolerating thugs
Remember that for 27 years you were told there was no leader better than KK.
Zambians, let us do it the Kenya way. They may have issues but look at the sincerity of Uhuru vs International Courtt or Kikwete or Kagame or even Gen. Ian Khama next door in Botswana. You are busy with tribalism and mediocrity. Tired of your way…

  7. This guy HH and UPND are wasting their time. This is a joke to have a handful of people at HH rallies , we expected mammoth rallies . Any way what can HH get except a handful. He is a lose and he is losing for the fourth time in a row.

Take a leaf from EL rallies in Kitwe and Mansa….that’s how a winning team’s rallies should be.

    • As it was in the days of FTJ’s third term bid and the brown envelopes so shall it be. As it was in the days of RB’s most expensive campaign with GRZ machinary on his side & bid for his second term so shall it be. Ask RB and Mudala KK how mammoth their rallies were but the opposition carried the day. As it was back then so shall it when polling day shall come

  8. DOES IT MEAN THESE CHILDREN HAVE ALSO REGISTERED AS VOTERS OR ??
ANYWAY U HAVE MONEY TO WASTE SINCE ITS MINES MONEY.THE SCAM WILL B UNVEILED SOON.

    VIVA EL2015

    VOTE EDGER LUNGU

    • There is one reason even the future generation(children) attended HH ‘s rally. That is their parents were assured that UPND is peaceful party and their children would be safe.

Lungu’s rally children were kept away by parents because PF is a violent party and no sane parent would risk his child getting injured or killed for PF’s lies.

PF zealots are really feeling the heat right now. They are having to drink heavily to get some small sleep.

HH is the man with a plan to restore Zambia.

  9. Campaign 01 have brought simple warmth back to the trail. Thankfully they have their own photos giving more insight. Will be looking out to see if any other campaigns are sharing elsewhere online.

All in all a peaceful weekend for all. Even the incumbents made it through with only minor disruptions. Kitwe hosted 3 parties this weekend and would probably like a break… Our capital can learn from them how possible it is to peacefully let opposition hold rallies…

  10. Bloggers frankly speaking HH will get substantial number of votes BUT winning NO WAY… Last time he got 20% this time around he may improve perhaps 20.001%.

    MARK MY WORDS.

PF is the party wiith true national interest; results are there for everyone to see…talk of infrastructure…

    • In your own dreams, as everyone is rightly saying, what you are saying is just sour grapes, deep down in your mind, you know that come 20th January, 2015, HH is the 6th Republican President. Learn to live with that fact bane.

  11. People please, why don’t you wait for January? Most of you contributors think you will change our mind tefyo. We know that you are not in Zambia and only writing negative things hoping you will change voters’ minds. Most voters are in rural areas and don’t even know how to browse. As long as they have a clinic, road, they are home and dry. Painting an ugly picture of PF will not work because people know the truth. Some of you are saying that PF has done nothing, what guarantee can you give me that UPND under HH can deliver? Insult as you wish but people know that the best ever politician left everything in place.

    • @Electorate….

Why did the late President Sata resort to Facebook if he knew that most Zambians do not have access to Internet?

      Yaaba, some people.

  12. giving the presential office to a new person is a risk because he might just think and embrace the bad vices thinking that’s how politics and leadership is supposed to be like. Vote RB now.

    NafutiNafutiRB

  13. PF are a seriously confused and violent party and they need to go like yesterday. Hate it or love if HH is a tonga and Zambia will be for Tonga’s only. Rupiah Bwezani Banda is the right choice. No time for experiments. Vote RB NafutiNafutiRB

  14. Ba LT are you trying to appear to decampaign HH?

Do you guys have an idea that for a country to develop, it needs honesty, honesty by all.

Those pictures you are showing, why are you picking ones where he was walking through markets, offices and some streets?

I sit and wonder what is wrong with africans, and remember the curse from the bible.

our minds are just as rich as much as we can move around garbage and not feel moved by it. And that is true my friend, people with an IQ that is somewhat low, but i hope not.

  15. HH has made inroads beyond the iron curtain[Northern territories], assisted by MMD MPs there. He has also made inroads in the East. There are a lot of disgruntled PF members who have joined UPND due to the lack of direction that has been seen after the demise of MCS. Some PF notables are no longer with the party. Sampa has a big following which should not be dispelled. Guy Scott is not on Edgar’s campaign trail. With these and the current divisions in PF, poor handling of economic affairs, bad governance, disillusionment with the presidential candidate, how in hell will this party get to win the presidential poll with the strongman MCS out of the equation? I see the 43% of 2011 diminishing to 20%! There is also the Malawian connection which is still hanging like a Damocle’s sword.

  16. Pf cadres those pictures you are seeing are pictures of real voters who have come on there on will to listen to HH.Lungu bused people from all towns in Copperbelt ,Lusaka and Chipata. These people who were seen in Kitwe most of them were not kitwe residents. Even nevers Mumba had a good number of people who were not bused but come from there home in chimwemwe. Dont be deceived with numbers the key is the number of votes one gets.Above all what Zambians need its quality leadership and not mob psychology.HH will prove bitter Pf that he is the best president that Zambia will ever have. VIVA FLIGHT HH .You the one with the favour of God.

  17. Incredible lungu spoke for six minutes only at the Mansa rally, which disappointed his followers. His wife took over and spoke beyond the time.(zambia.com). Some illnesses expose unexpected symptoms under strenous work like campaigns which can affect the health campaign of the campaigner. I pity his wife for doing the dirty job!

  18. UKWALOLO MWELA EKOTWALOLA MAYO …,PF SHOULD JUST ACCEPT MANY MISTAKES THEY HAVE CAUSED TO MANY ZAMBIANS AND APOLOGIZE FOR THEIR SINS.

FOR SURE ARE YOU DEAF FOR WHAT THE MANY CRIES OF EG, NURSES, FARMERS, TRANSPORTERS AND POLICE BRUTALITY ETC?

DULL PEOPLE WILL SUPPORT BLINDLY AND GIVE A VOTE IN PF.

  19. PF IS WINNING COME JANUARY 20 2015. THE WRITTING IS ON THE WALL. PF IS A POPULAR PARTY IT DOES NOT MATTER WHO STANDS. WHAT MATTERS IS PF. LET GO AS ONE FAMILY AND SHOW THESE POEPLE THAT PF WILL RULE BEYOND SATA. WAPYA TWAISA LIKE RAMPAGING HORSES!

  20. lets face reality PF is a national party driven by a lozi woman mama wina. PF has done it more than we expected. The best we can do is to suport lungu who is more experienced than HH.

  21. If these boys HH and Nevers do not heed the wise counsel given to them to contest 2016 and not 2015, thye will have only themselves to blame and we Zambians will hold them accountable for what will happen to the country.
    1. Chances of losing to PF are very high, splitting of votes between MMD and UPND is a physical reality and not a mathematical chance, as we have seen it countless times before.
    2. When UPND and MMD lose to PF in 2015, there will be no new constitution, or maybe cosmetic changes. PF will interpret, and they are entitled to, the vote as approval for their poor policies and poor governance.
    3. HH and Nevers can expect more abuses of the POA
    4. They can expect more harrassment.
    5. They can expect to spend more time behind bars than on the campaign trail.

  22. 6. The can expect the public to lsoe confidence in them for being perpertual losers.
    7. They can expect the public to get used to mediocrity and lose all future elections.
    8. If HH and Nevers do not heed advice, they will have wasted their youth and energy as they will never get another chance at Plot 1 until 2021, maybe.

HH and Nevers can assure their future relevance in Zambian politics by helping the public not to split their votes and to vote out PF now or NEVER.
    Unite behind RB!

  23. Its so simplest why HH is having an edge over his counterparts as his seemingly four strongholds are strongly behind him. As this is not enough to himself-He seems to start commanding modest numbers in LSK,CB,Earsten, & Nothern Province including Luapula & Muchinga. However, PF,MMD,NAREP,FDD & UNIP as well as Green Party & HP are likely to draw from the same pots. This simple analysis will be much vivid starting from early & middle January as HH’sCandidature will be all over the country & much pronounced in his stronghold which will definitely have a multiplier effect to other un decided voters country wide.

  24. A. 2011 ELECTION RESULTS
    Party Votes Share, %
    PF 1,170,966 41.98
    MMD 987,866 35.42
    UPND 506,763 18.17

    MMD+UPND: 1,494,629 53.59%

  25. B. ANALYSIS FOR 2015 ELECTIONS
    1. A united MMD can still retain a good share of votes in 2015.
    2. But under Nevers Mumba the MMD has drastically reduced its share of national votes, as can be seen from parliamentary by elections so far.
    3. For all UPND efforts this time around, to win this election they need to increase their votes by an impossible 100%.
    4. Let’s be generous and give them a 50% increase, UPND gets 760,000 votes.
    5. Any increase in UPND votes is more likely to come from a reduction in MMD share rather a major reduction in the PF share of votes.
    6. This means that the total share of UPND+MMD remains constant and greater than PFs, but individually they are still less than PF.
    7. PF wins 2015 if UPND/MMD split their votes.

  26. 8. The only way PF can lose is by MMD and UPND combining votes in an alliance.
    9. If PF lost 2015 they would become disorganized (if the party doesn’t collapse altogether).
    10. If this happened, certainly PF will never be a factor in Zambian politics again, leaving the field to UPND and MMD in 2016.
    11. The best strategy for 2015 for UPND and MMD is an alliance behind RB just for the remaining period before 2016. Come 2016, the battle is between UPND and MMD, and with far greater chances to Plot 1 for either HH and Nevers once PF is out of the race.

    • @British Strategist. Voting is never static just as the mood of people is never static. One wins or loses an election depending on the mood of a people at a particular point in time. Please get yours stats a throw them into the bin!

    • Are you not in Zambia to know the composition of the current cabinet, or you just want to be funny enough to want to get it from someone else?. Can you be serious!

  27. @BS-Waste of time!Zambians are not static in voting if your analysis was to stand for anything RB would have won in 2011. Hope you are not fixed in your social economic endeavours as you sound to be very myopic in your analysis. Can not start lecturering you but better upgrade your grey matter! Viva HH for some people do not really know why UKWA SATA was voted into office. That time MMD was so arrogant & started embracing corruption & Sata was the only option after the demise of Mazoka & Mwanawasa! Now the ball is in HH’s hands -my foot!

  28. Twanaka all the candidates are thieves and lairs and my i.d.o.t countrymates are busy following blindly mwema zambian mulibamusebanya sana, let them have a live debate on znbc so we hear from them all cant you see its the same lies during campaigns mulifikopo sana wake up otherwise twakulachulafye ififine

  29. Aleisa Aleteka….Viva HH

at EL rally in Kitwe? those were hired crowds to cheat EL that he has support. those were not Kitwe residents, ask me.. i was there to just catch a glipse of drunkard stargerling ne nkonto

    Viva UPND, Viva HH

  30. The civilised Sam hehehehehe, but tell me how HH is going to turn the double the votes that he got in 2011. Unless you say that PF, MMD, and all other parties are sleeping while only UPND is campaigning, or that voters will just change overnight, and for that tell me any magical message in the current UPND campaigns to sway the voters who did not vote UPND last time. I know it’s hard for you to accept, but the Sata message/legacy/vision is still a strong brand in Zambian politics today, despite that it was based on nothing but outright lies. I feel pity for HH. The young man, an otherwise intelligent son of Zambia, should become President of Zambia in 2016 for 5 years+, but for ostriches like you!
Finally, see me on LT this time next year on Wednesday 21st January 2016. Cheerio!

  31. The civilised Sam, sorry I meant see me on LT this time next year on Wednesday 21st January 2015. You will not able to see me in 2016 because with intelligent but incorrigible cadres like you today, by 2016 there will be no LT or opposition parties and Zambia will have become a PF neo-One Party Participatory Democracy, or equivalent, as Mathematicians would say!

  32. I can’t believe that people here don’t know that photo ops with children are de rigeur for politicians. They are supposed to – It improves their image.
It’s the same all over the world, dimwits! Ati ‘voter’s card’.

Let me go and visit other more intelligent sites for a minute before my brain is infested with nonsense
