Originally from Greece but born and raised in Lusaka, Kiki Militsis loved singing and performance from her early years. She took up piano and ballet / tap dancing lessons and went on to perform in various productions at The Lusaka Playhouse from as young as 5 years old and throughout her teens. She studied at The International School of Lusaka, and was awarded the Music Award at her graduation.

She moved to the UK in 2001 to further her studies & career, training to a high level (Masters in Music Performance) and gaining an array of experience as a performer and teacher. She performed with bands and independent artists both live and in the studio was also a regular judge for “Live and Unsigned” & “Open Mic UK” – dubbed the UK’s biggest music competitions for original bands and singers – alongside renowned industry professionals.

Having recently returned home to Lusaka, Kiki successfully continues her music career. She joined the judging panel for ‘Dreams’ Season 3 alongside legendary Brian Shakarongo and Cactus Agony – a nationwide singing competition which aired on National TV (ZNBC). She also performs as part of the band ‘Ben & Kiki’ , their ever increasing popularity taking them all around Lusaka and nationwide. This year she was chosen as one of the brand ambassadors for Proflight Zambia’s ‘Fly5? campaign

Kiki is excited to have returned home to Zambia and keen to leave her mark on the local music scene, having already turned her focus to writing and recording, and working with local artists. Her residency at The Misty is where she showcases her love for classic and contemporary jazz and blues repertoire; for which her rich, soulful and haunting voice delivers a captivating and moving performance.

  2. Originally from Greece but born and raised in Zambia? LT please be serious. There’s no such thing. It is either her grandparents or her parents were ORIGINALLY from Greece. She was BORN in ZAMBIA and technically she is therefore NOT from Greece.

  3. Wow just came across this! Though my surname is spelled Militzis. My ‘blood’ and heritage are Greek and beloved Zambia is my HOME. I am proudly Zambian. How’s that? 🙂
