Evans Kangwa ends 5-month goal draught

Zambia striker Evans Kangwa on Saturday night scored his first goal in five months in the Israel league for Hapoel Ra’anana in their relegation phase play-off win over Ashdod.

Kangwa scored Ra’anana’s second goal in the 42nd minute to hand them a 2-0 lead into the break.

The Zambia striker went on to play the full game.

Kangwa’s last league goal came on November 1, 2014 incidentally in Ra’anana’s 2-1 away win at Ashdod in a match he scored a brace.

The goal this past weekend was his fourth from twenty games played during his one-year loan deal from Nkana.

Meanwhile, Ra’anana lead the eight-team relegation play-off after the first round of games played.

  1. Good ending. The team which is in relegation. Work hard next time when we will leave you for national duties you complain. because you performance is below average. However good ending

  2. Very inefficient in front of goal; unless he is now a defender in Israel – scoring 4 goals in 20 games, that is a return of 20%, and you wonder why his team is fighting relegation! So, will we have to wait for 5 games for him to give us a goal at National Team level as well?

  3. Our coaches contributed to Evans’ sloppy performance. When he became a hot property in 2012 they hardly featured him until he began to wane due to poor-featuring record!
