FAZ back-tracks on axing Janza

Share

The FAZ/Honour Janza soap opera has taken a twist with Football House insisting they are sticking by their man despite publicly jilting the interim Zambia coach for the full-time job.

FAZ said in a statement on Monday night that they are sticking by Janza after a dramatic 48 hours of emotional outpouring in the media by the Zambia coach after he was jilted by Kalusha Bwalya at the FAZ annual general meeting on Saturday in Kabwe.

Football House now insist Janza will be their man in to take Zambia to Polokwane in May at the South Africa 2015 Cosafa Cup.

“The Football Association of Zambia wishes to state that Coach Honour Janza is still in charge of the Zambia National Soccer team as Acting Head Coach,” FAZ stated.

“It is the Association’s wish to train all coaches at club and national level so that the standards of football in the country are in line with what is obtaining in the world.Hence the statement about Mr Janza’s qualification over the weekend was not a vote of no confidence in the coach, but an expression by the Association of its desire to raise the profile of all the coaches in the country.

“It is also important to note that Janza will also continue as Technical Director at Football House.

“Coach Janza has meanwhile expressed his willingness and commitment to serve as requested at any level of Zambian Football. Janza who is a holder of a UEFA B licence has been associated with Chipolopolo and other junior teams, including the women age group squads for a long time now. He was on the bench that won the Africa Cup in 2012 and was with Chipolopolo in Angola in 2010, where Zambia reached the quarter finals.

“Coach Janza is currently tasked with coming up with the Zambia national team which will be vying for honours at the 2015 COSAFA tournament which will be held in South Africa in May this year.”

    • If FAZ want to hire a foreign coach, they have to also find the money to pay that coach without recourse to funds from govt.

FAZ under kalusha has not added any value to Zambian football

    • Janza is clueless i have said this before no one wants to listen he is not taking the national team anywhere on this one Kalusha is right.

    • If not Janza, then another Zambian coach please. Our Kwacha is underperforming, we cannot afford a coach paid in pounds.

  1. When are you ever going to learn.Janza didn’t win a single game at AFCON and here you are again sticking to someone with a of chipanpante knowledge of playng football.
    Awe twakana

    • Awe kwena twakana. After reaching the dizzy heights of African Champions we have now become like any other team. Dont make failure normal

  2. When are you ever going to learn.Janza didn’t win a single game at AFCON and here you are again sticking to someone with a of chipantepante knowledge of playng football.

    • Exactly my thoughts,i dont even kno if he has ever coached a local football club,am sorry bt there r better local coaches lyk lwandamina and nyirenda

  3. Lack of leadership reveals itself in indecision, no vision flip-flopping. Janza should get himself a permanent job somewhere he will be appreciated.

    • Katongo misbehaved and he deserved to be chased. How can the whole captain take in a girlfriend at camp? What example was the captain portraying to his team? There is a reason why the team goes to camp and 2 of them are: to avoid them sleeping with women or taking alcohol that will affect their performance. The team must be disciplined – chapwa.

    • Ba C General fyakale ifyakukanya sex mu camp. Ask The English rugby team that won the world cup. Ask Germany. Nowadays trainers have discovered sex ihelps for a good performance

  4. Janza, if you have eyes please open them widely. The foreign coach whom they wanted to hire has refused to handle cosafa as it is mostly for local players and as such he is scared to lose and later on lose confidence from the soccer fans. He wants the AFCON where he can easily watch DVDs and make player selection.

As far as FAZ is concerned, you are fired.

If you have ears, listen and listen very hard.

ASK THEM TO GIVE YOU A CONTRACT IMMEDIATELY AND YOU WILL SEE HOW THEY WILL START SWEATING!

  5. I told tou football house has no plan to replace Janza. Kalu just reacted to a question at the AGM.
Whatever weaknesses Janza has, the FA is to blame for the failures of our teams. Look at the preparations before the last AFCON. The team only left for EG a day before their first march & you expected magic. Please!!!

  6. Janza is one of the fool Zambia has hired has a trainer, it is us the FAZ Councillors you hired him through FAZ executive and today he want to look us down fire the buger.

  7. FAZ, Keep Janza as you do not have the monies to pay Mzungu if he takes over. On the Italian coach you were saved by gvt by offsetting his salary, You own the Frenchman many months in salary arrear, how you want to accumulate another wage war?? SHAME

  8. Overhall the FAZ itself. It is full of people with selve praise. The fact that you are a good player on the pitch never mean you are good in tehnicala nd adminstration and that is what Kalusha Bwalya thinks. We need KHOMA at the helm of FAZ now and not tomorrow. Kalusha should vacate immediately, is it the only source of his livelihood? People must be open to some of these thieves, who think they are going to use the old glories of yester years to cling on to power—useless.

  9. THEY NEED JANZA FOR THE COSAFA ONLY! AFTER WHICH NI FLUSHING CHABE! TOO BAD BA HONOUR! ATLEAST YOU ARE GAURANTEED A ROLE AS TECHNICAL DIRECTOR! SO MWI PONTA BWANGU! KALU ALA CHINJA BWANGU!

  10. If I were Janza I would just quit and wait for offers. If you are a succesful coach the offers will be flooding in. Did Renard stay jobless after leaving Zambia? No Stephen Keshi won’t stay without a job the moment he leaves Nigeria. If Janza is the highest qualified coach in Zambia like I have heard from some posts here why is he crying for a job?

  11. its time we Zambians stopped believing everything foreign is superior, for Christs sake we are 50 years old! let a Zambian coach our national team.
