MMD predicts PF’s victory in Senga Hill

The opposition MMD in Northern Province has predicted that the Patriotic Front will scope tomorrow’s Senga Hills Parliamentary by-election in Mbala district.

MMD Provincial Publicity Secretary, Cephas Bwalya, says after campaigning with the PF, the MMD was satisfied that PF candidate, Kapembwa Simbao, will carry the day.

Mr Bwalya told ZANIS in an interview that the MMD in the province decided to support Mr Simbao so that he could continue with the developmental programmes initiated in the area, saying he was one of the few former MMD Parliamentarians that had delivered in their constituencies.

He noted that time had come for politicians to put their differences aside and begin working together to develop the country.

Mr. Bwalya appealed to voters in Senga to turn out in large numbers tomorrow and vote for the PF candidate.

The seat, which is being contested by PF’s Kampembwa Simbao and UPND’s Giles Yambayamba, fell vacant after nullification of the 2011 election of Kapembwa Simbao for electoral mal-practices by the Supreme Court early this year.

Meanwhile, the MMD in the province will next month hold its first ever provincial conference with a purpose of reviewing the party’s performance and strategise for the 2016 general elections.

Mr Bwalya says the conference will also afford the grassroots an opportunity to keep abreast with the party’s policies.

He said the party will bring together all the official party structures from ward level in all the districts of Northern Province.

Mr Bwalya added that over 3 000 party delegates in good standing with the party will be allowed to attend the meeting.

  1. This useless, finished and redundant party is still issuing statements. it allowed itself to massacred by Rupiah Banda

  2. Come 2016, this MMD-PF secret pact will render the opposition ineffective. I foresee MMD off-loading all it’s law makers to PF and liquidating itself as a result. Eastern province will especially be disastrous to the opposition in 2016. Signs are looking ominous on the horizon judging by the Senga Hill machinations. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth out there!!!

  3. BWALYA this is double standard you are the same chap who were calling for expulsion of Simbao and Simfukwe from MMD now u have turned around supporting him when he is standing on PF ticket what type of politics is NEVERS MUMBA teaching you? Now all of you including your failed pastor u should stop insulting RB for supporting PF on 20th January Presidential election. You chaps you have been bought to kill MMD that is the reason u dont want RB who is trying to build the MMD, NEVERS MUMBA is a bad politician who don’t deserve to lead this mighty party. Where are u getting the money to hold your Provincial Conference? When NEVERS MUMBA has no money.

  4. Choose the correct answer for tomorrows MPs elections.

    A .UPND 3, PF 0
    B .PF 3, UPND 0
    C .UPND 2, PF 1
    D .PF 2, UPND 1

  5. Bwalya should realise that pride makes a man artificial while humility makes him real. Why count the chickens before they are hatched?

  6. Can any one make sense of this. You nullify a seat because the candidate won the seat through corruption then you allow him, a corrupt person, to recontest the seat. The message I am getting is that there is nothing wrong in winning a seat through corruption because even if you are found guilty there will be no charges laid against you.

  7. With this type of politics, I really fear for this country. Same difference in Masaiti. Now your guess is as good as mine as to where we are headed. Congo, Zimbabwe, CAR, Somalia, Ukraine? Kaya.

  8. Bwalya is very right.people should not judge mmd by its. Recent presidential results.mmd membership o which majority didn’t vote due to confusions brought by) and other crooks, while the rest of mmd members contributed to national Aparthy. So just wait and watch.Nevers knows what he is doing,we shall stand with him and he will lead ths country. Matter of time.

  9. The fact is UPND will 100% lose in Chawama.this party is almost not there on the ground in Chawama.then Senga Hill is now under PF.i guess UPND’s real chances are only in Masaiti.so its likely to be PF 2 UPND 1.but never rule out PF 3 UPND 0!!!THE IMPOSSIBILITY IS PF 0 UPND 3 OR PF 1 UPND 2,THIS WONT HAPPEN 100%!!!

  10. asemble all political leaders in zambia and get a neutral person from any place in the world and ask him or her guess who the President of Zed is,belive u me,that person,as he/her points at HH tell u not to fool him/her next time.
