Botswana edge closer to U23 date with Zambia

Botswana Under-23 edged closer to a 2015 CAF Under-23 Cup qualifier date with Zambia after winning their first leg tie against Kenya over the weekend.

The Young Zebra’s beat Kenya 3-0 in a preliminary round, first leg match on Friday in Gaborone.

Omaatla Kebatho scored a brace while Onkabethet Makgantai notched the other goal.

Kenya suffered a further setback when John Wanyonyi was red carded.

Botswana will travel to Nairobi on May 10 for the final leg with the winner hosting Zambia on May 23 while the final leg is scheduled for May 30 in Lusaka.

Winner will play Cote d’Ivoire in the final round qualifiers with the first leg scheduled for July 18 at home and the return leg to follow on August in Abidjan.

Victor will qualify to the second edition of the CAF U 23 Cup to be held in Senegal this December where the four finalists at that tournament will advance to the 2017 Rio Olympics.
