Beston Chambeshi has praised midfielder Shadreck Musonda for stepping up to the task after replacing red-carded goalkeeper Scott Ngokane in last Saturdays 0-0 away draw against Green Eagles.
Musonda swapped his number 12 jersey for the number one shirt after Ngokane was sent off in the 68th minute with Nkana already exhausted its substitutes.
“I am happy with the boy’s sacrifice and we have been using him a as goalkeeper in training and it paid off,” Chambeshi said.
However, goalkeeping is not a new experience for Musonda who was a number one in his early days at lower league side Mundeni.
“I was a goalkeeper before. I grown up in that sphere,” Musonda said who joined Nkana last season on loan from Kalulushi Modern Stars before making his stay permanent in 2015.
Meanwhile, the battle for the number one shirt for this Sunday’s Kitwe derby showdown against visitors Power Dynamos will be between fit-again Rabson Muchelenganga and Charles Mweemba.
Is that Ngokane a Zambian, his name sounds can be good for national team.
