Ronald Kampamba’s came on in the second half for Egyptian club Wadi Degla but could not stem his side’s’ defeat on Thursday night away to Al Ahly.
Wadi lost 3-1 away to Al Ahly in their Cairo derby.
The result saw Wadi fall to 7th place on 50 points with three games left to ended any slim hopes in the race for the third place spot that guarantees a CAF Confederation Cup slot.
Kampamba came on in the 65th minute with Wadi trailing 3-0.
The Zambian striker then played a through ball for Nigerian striker Stanley Ohawuchi in the 77th minute to score Wadi’s consolation goal.
Wadi’s hopes of a continental slot now lie in the Egypt Cup where they have reached the quarterfinals.
