Zesco go second after shooting down Eagles

Zesco United beat Green Eagles 1-0 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium to move into second place on the FAZ Super Division table.

The defending champions win ties them on 29 points with Zanaco from 13 and 14 matches played respectively.

Zesco midfielder Mwape Mwelwa fired in the games lone goal from the edge of the box in the 19th minute.

The goal was the back-in-favour midfielders’ third successive goal for Zesco this season.

Meanwhile, Zesco’s win is a big boost ahead of next Thursdays evenings big Copperbelt away to Power Dynamos in Kitwe whom they have displaced to third place for at least 24 hours.

Power will host Red Arrows on Monday evening at 17h30 at Arthur Davies Stadium.

Victory for Power on Monday night in Kitwe will see them go top of the table.
