Well known PF thugs attempted to harm UPND President Hakainde Hichilema as he arrived to inspect the new UPND Secretariat in Kitwe’s Chachacha Compound.

The PF thugs, driving a KB Isuzu van registration number ABD 4874 and carrying various types of dangerous weapons, followed Mr. Hichilema’s convoy up to the UPND Secretariat.

As UPND, we have always insisted on issue based civil politics that addresses the needs of our poor people currently facing economic challenges.

We have so far had wonderful reception in Luapula, North-Western Provinces, and we must enjoy our stay in Kitwe as well.

We have always denounced violence of any kind but like we have consistently said and as evidenced from the recently ended bye-elections, our colleagues in the PF have now graduated from mere Pangas and machets to using guns.

They are clearly not ready to engage in civil dialogue and politics and from our own intelligence reports, they wish to use this same formula at a large scale as we head towards next year’s general elections.

We hope the police will thoroughly investigate this matter because we believe there should not be a no go area for any political leader regardless of their ideas.

Our programme of thanking voters across the country, will go ahead as scheduled as we cannot be intimidated by sponsored thugs by known politicians.

Our plea is that these youths need decent education, jobs, and a better life for all Zambians.

Our miners are losing their jobs and even those working are currently working under deplorable working conditions, coupled with an ever-rising cost of living.

These are the issues that matters the most to our people.

  1. Typical of pf locusts. What do u do to locusts? Fumigate them. If this is the way pf wants it, then it is WAR!!

    • I was glad President Lungu has directed the police to be professional and deal with these useless thugs in PF. I hope the police will not listen to contrary advice from Chishimba Kambwili. Stay safe HH, this country needs you

    • Kitwe, Ndola, Copperbelt people will come out and welcome you to pass time! When it comes to voting they do otherwise. They have been doing it for years including during Mazoka’s time before the so-called tribal tag was created. Mazoka would have won in 2001 but Ndola his home town rejected him. Mazoka was so cool but the Copperbelt made sure he never made it to State House.

    • Politics is not an end, but a means. It is not a product, but a process. It is the art of government. Like other values it has its counterfeits. So much emphasis has been placed upon the false that the significance of the true has been obscured and politics has come to convey the meaning of crafty and cunning selfishness, instead of candid and sincere service. Calvin Coolidge.

    • Heartless comments like one above and others from jobless and hungry thugs paid by PF fat pig. The thugs are foreigners who ran away from a country that has never seen peace up todate. They roam the CB and Lusaka. It is the fat pig who has vowed against Tongas,he has vile language against Tongas whenever he vomits his rubbish, he’s the archtect of the talked about secession!

  2. That’s why POA is important which you think is useless . getting a police permit and conduct your business is simple but you choose not to. Govt will never be held accountable should you be attacked by thugs because you don’t want to follow the law .

    • If PF cadres do it, PF will be held responsible. Freedom entails enjoying one’s rights without being threatened!!!

    • Nothing may be done now by Stella Libongani, but truth is something will be done by those being harassed now and tomorrow! Antonio Mwanza rightly put it: You cannot crush people!!!!!

    • Mr Square Pants…. despite being in diaspora, you are African at heart and your mindset is indeed African. You got your independence and yet still want to deprive yourself of your rights as a citizen. POA was initiated to intimidate others..!

    • @Sponge bob and your PF minions can you please comment objectively and stop thinking using your back side because its not good for the country.

UPND and HH mean well for the country.

  3. Ladies and gentlemen, this is not the Zambia we grew up in. The political intolerance got out of hand as soon as PF started governing. Everyone knows that being in power is sweet, but to these people, the word has taken on another meaning. No one owns this country, it belongs to all of us. Can someone stand up and tell me that Zambia ni country ya anyina? Right now, the need for alternative leadership is more paramount than ever as almost on a daily basis, the number of challenges this country faces continue mounting exponentially. Each of those weapons in the picture has the capacity to kill and the police unfortunately just look on. Do they want to intervene when people are gravely injured? Is this really the country we want to live in?

    • All God fearing believers in UPND and HH need to pray and surrender their hearts and all their plans to God who can see all things because nothing is hidden from him. This is a spiritual battle and it will be won in prayer, by faith and being in tune with the Holy Spirit as much as Jesus has already won the war, more tricks of the defeated devil will be manifested towards elections and during elections but thank God that the Holy Spirit will reveal everything that is yet to come, the key is being prayerful. The Lord would reveal to Elisha every evil thing that was being planned. Believers should not be taken by suprise by anything.

    • Believers should wake up from slumber and pray.Economic performance and strategy is good, however God ‘s intervention is even greater. When Economic performance and God’s intervention are combined the resullts are even better. God has given us everything that pertains to Life and Godliness.

    • Remember Mulobezi and Livingstone violence perpetrated by UPND thugs. Taste of their own medicine.

  4. Edgar Lungu the drunkard is now running mad like a rabid dog. He is desperate wanting to win the 2016 presidential elections at all costs of which he wont manage.

Edgar Lungu is the loser of the 2016 elections.

    • @Hildah Malama; you remind me of a jealous ugly girl in school who keeps calling the prettiest and popular girl in school a pr0stitute and yet regardless, she still remained pretty and popular. You are always calling Edgar Lungu all manner of variations of the word drunkard but he still is president!

  5. Its really very unfortunately if it’s true. I believe that President HH should realize that he isn’t an ordinary citizen like many of us, he needs police protection. These violence haven’t started today, infarct even the same William Banda who was welcomed in UPND is a thurg who is not suppose to dine with a normal human being. Mweetwa why are you crying to us, inform the police we are not interested. All of you politicians are the same, don’t convince us that you are better than them, its a lie.

  6. The laws are clear, stop behaving like a pseudo President but notify the police when having public meetings then you will get police protection! Dont cheat yourselves that everyone loves you!! Simply follow the law and spare us with cry baby alarms! When you are told to notify police you react with arogance and run away from the Police but when your fellow thugs over power you, then you want to play the role of a victim and rush to the same police? Grow up!

    • @Kitwe boys

You must be a f00l who has lost all his thinking ability because being an employee of the PF thugs.

Don’t you that HH obtained a police to tour the country and the police knew his where about.

If your are a normal human being you will remember that he wanted to thank people across the nation just the bye election but PF refused to grant him the police permit and he obliged. After the donors pressurised the PF to let the opposition enjoy freedom of assembly and expression as a condition to receive grants, that when they allowed HH and UPND to go around the country thank the people who voted UPND.

Whether you like or not, HH and UPND will form a government soon.

      Viva HH and UPND.

    • So how do you know he never asked for police permit ba Kitwe boys? Coz that would have been the first thing the police would have said. Did you take time to find out or your are talking out of your bums like every PF cadre here?

  7. Yaba! That picture looks staged! Just because that’s what happened to you so you want to play the same trick? Common UPND you can do better

  8. I guess the professional police will say the PF vehicle was headed for a construction site and meant no harm to the UPND leader!

  9. Always seeking public sympathy, what kind of politics are these bwana HH, stop alarming people instead play smart politics.

  10. Good evening gentlemen,
I have told you before, but you do not seem to believe me. These are the acts of under five, and still has not grown up.

  11. Mu Zambia! uku shi shi ta! Akalisukulu! People are depriving you of all the basic needs of life to develop and you continue shouting! Ati ifintu ni Lungu! What is good about Lungu? You don’t know! You are very dull and uncivilized! Continue suffering, you will eat the Nyanja and Bemba languages!

    • And yet the last set of by-elections countrywide, PF got 100% of the parliamentary seats and 7 out of 8 ward councilor seats. Common voters have appreciated Lungu and HH and his band of kachemas will gnash their teeth come 2016.

  12. Those are UPND cadres who put those stones there.why should a PF cadres harm HH today when general elections will be in 2016?it doesnt make sense!!THIS IS ONE WAY OF ATTRACTING ATTENTION BY TRIBAL HH!!THIS MAN DOESNT LEARN LOCAL POLITICS!!IN JANUARY 2015,HE MANAGED TO ATTRACT HUGE CROWDS ON CB AND IN OTHER PROVINCES,BUT WHEN VOTING DAY CAME,MAJORITY OF THOSE WHO ATTENDED HIS RALLIES NEVER VOTED BUT JUST STAYED AWAY AS THEY DIDNT SEE HIM AS AN OPTION!!CB WILL NEVER VOTE FOR HH IN LARGE NUMBERS.COME 2016 PF WILL BE FIRST FROM THERE!!

  13. Utumabwe tubili ati dangerous weapons imwe Ba kabwa! You ain’t seen nothing yet. Mukamwenako! 2016 you will swear you never allowed that moron to run for elections again! Ilya mwavotele guys ala mwalilufyanya you will see what munsholomwe saw this time around. We shall again eat the HH mulla through his usual dull campaign agents. Bring it on !!!!! Kopala no size.

  14. All MPs from PF,MMD,UPND, ETC voted to increase their salaries in parliament!!Patrick Mucheleka,Garry Nkombo,Jonas Shakafuswa,Brian Chituwo,Kapembwa Simbao etc even demanded that MPs must be on life pension and that Govnt must build them houses after their terms end!!SO YOU SEE THAT ALL THESE POLITICIANS ARE THE SAME?THEY ARE IN POLITICS TO EARN MONEY AND NOT FOR A SERVICE.NOW I WANT TO HEAR WHAT HH WILL SAY ABOUT HIS MPS WHO SUPPORTED THIS!!even HH is spending sleepless nights hunting for votes across Zambia not that once he wins,he will provide a service, but to make money for himself and close friends!!!SO VOTERS NEVER BE CHEATED BY ALL THESE POLITICIANS!!THEY WILL NEVER IMPROVE OUR LIVES!!LETS JUST WORK HARD!!SOON I’LL STOP VOTING!!!

  15. We thought this thuggery went with late Micheal Sata in the PF, but they are now graduating into full time gun trotting war Lords. Zambians we must arm ourselves ahead of 2016 general elections. Mugs be is finally here under Lungu more than under Sata.

  16. The sad thing here is that Mr Lungu should be condemning these activities but he is obviously not. is it because he is so aloof and does not care about the implications of this. today HH and UPND is being harassed, who is next??? clearly Lungu should not delude himself that he is immune to these activities, it is just a matter of time, as they say Karma is a bitch, what goes around comes around

  17. The writing is on the wall, only a fool can not see that HH’s time is fast approaching! PF will soon be leading a quiet life! Of course out of shame after losing to UPND next year!

  18. PF cadres are making the job of his Excellency Edgar Chagwa Lungu difficult because they think in their own minds fighting opposing views is the best way to go. intimidating others because we rule today is good politics no its not so. We are all Zambians including those who oppose no need to shoot each other.

At a time when our politics seem broken at the national level, now might be a good moment to think through the executive skills needed for success as the nation’s CEO.

I don’t make this observation with any particular candidate in mind for the presidency in 2016. I’m far less interested in the outcome of specific issues than in the process for coming to grips with them. Whether it’s sensible long-term budgeting, schooling, tax reform or infrastructure, we need a leader who will take up a serious process to…

  20. address issues.

It’s surely true that our finest presidents haven’t had significant business experience. Being a log-cabin lawyer or patrician farmer doesn’t count. The achievements of Lincoln or FDR or Truman or Reagan were in fact largely a product of classic political skills. But there are elements of being president—the country’s chief executive—that demand what brilliant business leaders do. And as the U.S. government has grown to be the largest enterprise in the world, the abilities of those trained to run enterprises are worth considering.

The talents that great CEOs possess fall into five categories:
•People: It’s essential to hire, coach and retain individuals who work as a team. The Cabinet and the agencies, as well as Congress, work best when they’re rowing together…

  21. That doesn’t mean everybody agrees. But the relentless infighting that has come to dominate Washington produces gridlock. A president with deep experience herding cats at a large company might offer a way that seems to escape career politicians.
•Objectives: A team works best when it knows what winning actually is. The best CEOs set priorities and give everyone a “line of sight” to goals. That means creating projects with champions, deliverables, timetables, budgets and support—in pursuit of a realistic strategy. Platitudes and speeches don’t cut it.
•Communications: The best business leaders ensure that their words and actions match, publicly and privately. Sometimes such traits are lacking in our current leaders. Charisma of course counts, but demonstrated performance comes first…

  22. Many top CEOs communicate effectively without oratorical flourish.
•Culture: Great CEOs celebrate the core values of an enterprise. Culture can become the widest, deepest moat to protect a business and give it staying power. Our political culture, to put it mildly, has turned toxic.
•Accountability: A team needs to be accountable. If you can measure whether you’ve reached a goal, you can allocate resources and you can motivate the troops. You get what you measure, because measurements tend to drive individuals to optimize their “scores.” How many political leaders declare success without ever explaining to us just what metric they’re using?

  23. success without ever explaining to us just what metric they’re using?

When we think of a head-of-state, most of us imagine a spokesperson who symbolizes “American values” and makes us feel good. That’s fine, but more important these days ought to be a president who has the skills to thrive in all five categories described above.

The federal government is a multi-trillion-dollar business. But without the discipline of the marketplace, it’s become bloated and unaccountable, driven by ideologies more than practicalities. Indeed, if USA Inc. were a market-constrained enterprise, it would’ve failed years ago. It rarely sets clear priorities. It doesn’t meet its budgets. It fails to deliver on promises. A business and a brand performing the way we’re headed would risk oblivion…

  24. would risk oblivion.

“Government” and “business” aren’t synonymous. Government isn’t driven, and shouldn’t be driven, by a profit motive. CEOs often govern on their own, whereas presidents must work with Congress and rightly must consider public opinion. And when it comes to governing, ideologies do matter—but maybe they should matter a bit less than running the machinery of government effectively, with a clear strategy that’s aligned with objectives and measureable results.

Competence should trump adherence to dogma about this hot-button social issue or that conventional foreign-policy wisdom. I’m not suggesting that Donald Trump is the answer either; if one views him through the lens of the five key things great business leaders do well, he may seem more of a caricature.

    But…

  25. But it could be interesting to see a Jeffrey Immelt of G.E. or a Howard Schultz of Starbucks as part of the national conversation. The former’s a Republican and the latter’s a Democrat. Or add to the mix Alan Mulally, the former Boeing executive and Ford CEO (whose politics I don’t know). All have been superb leaders, with stated goals, demonstrable results, and responsible stewardship. And, of course, Mike Bloomberg, an independent, thrived in three terms as the mayor of New York City.

It may well be true that any of them—as well as other CEOs—might flee from a presidential candidacy. They might invoke the quip of the late New York Times columnist William Safire when his name came up as possible secretary of state to the first President Bush: “Why step down?”

  26. The answer would be to address the obvious issues we face. In selecting our next president, let’s remember that we’re actually hiring our nation’s next CEO—and take into account the skills that our best business leaders have honed

“‘HH we are learned and are alive to world best politics and selection of leaders From this well researched and written work, your business acumen portrayal of Zambia’s next president is far short of the qualities and you certainly can not go on wasting voters time simply step down and Give to Garry or Cornelius You cannot win in current UPND ideologies and Policies”

  27. Shame on PF thugs! Why troubling yourselves with HH who has no impact in Zambian politics.Just leave him let him go round the whole nation.Let him waste his resources and us people let us eat with him.He can’t be the president of Zambia.Galu wacabe-cabe HH!
