Nkana visit derby customer Chilumba

Share

Power Dynamos coach Tennant Chilumba feels the pressure on Saturday when he faces Nkana for a sixth time hoping to end an agonizing record against his nemesis.

Despite saving Power from the drop in his first season in charge in 2013 and leading them to a second place finish in 2014, Chilumba has never beaten Nkana.

Chilumba, who has dodged to comment on the derby all of this week, has lost three and drawn two derby clashes since arriving at Power in the winter of June, 2013.

He heads into Saturday’s showdown on the back of back-to-back defeats to Nkana after losing 1-0 in the first leg away and 2-1 last October at Arthur Davies Stadium.

The pressure is even more on him this weekend after exchanging places with Zanaco in 3rd and 2nd place respectively, tied on 42 points.

Power are in danger of losing pace with leaders Zesco United who enjoy a seven-point lead with eight games left after this weekends Week 22 fixtures.

This is after Power lost 1-0 away to homeless Mighty Mufulira Wanderers last weekend at Kafubu Stadium a result that handed their hosts their first win in their opening match of their six-home game ban.

Meanwhile, Nkana coach Aggrey Chiyangi will be making his derby debut against the club he played for from 1983 to 1999 following his appointment in May this year.

An away triumph will cement his place in Wusakile as to where his loyalties lie in Kitwe.
