VICE-PRESIDENT Inonge Wina has directed Police to sternly deal with individuals perpetrating violence ahead of this Thursday’s Solwezi West parliamentary by- election.

Mrs Wina said there is a ward in Solwezi West where leaders of a named political party are dishing out money to some youths to harass Patriotic Front (PF) members whenever they visit the area.

The Vice-President appealed to political party leaders to restrain their youths from engaging in violence and not to use them to perpetrate the vice.

“If the perception is telling you that your party is losing an election, you don’t need to fight but unfortunately there is a ward in Solwezi West known for violence where leaders are giving money to young people to cause violence when they hear that leaders of PF are coming,” Mrs Wina said.

The Vice-President was speaking yesterday when she addressed a public rally at Mwajimambwe Primary School grounds to drum up support for PF Solwezi West Parliamentary candidate Martin Mbaya.

Mrs Wina commended PF members for conducting peaceful campaigns in the run up to the by-election.

“I salute you for keeping peace here,” she said.

Mrs Wina has also urged the electorate in Solwezi West to vote for Mr Mbaya in order to foster development in the area.

She said sustainable development can only come from the government and by working with the PF.

“The party that is controlling the purse is the PF at the moment but there are some people who are coming here to tell you to vote for them and they will bring development using their money. That is not possible,” Mrs Wina said.

She said PF wants to work with members of Parliament from all political parties to foster national development.

Mrs Wina said it is unfortunate that the United Party for National Development (UPND) does not want its MPs to work with the government.

She advised people to vote for Mr Mbaya who will work well with the government.

“We would like to have Martin Mbaya work with us and so remember that your vote is very important to the development of this place,” Mrs Wina said.

She said PF will remain in power even after next year’s tripartite elections.

Mrs Wina said Government has initiated a number of empowerment programmes for women and the youth
She is, however, disappointed that very few people in the region are accessing empowerment funds due to lack of proper representation to sensitise them on how to apply for the funds.

She said Government has allocated part of the Eurobond to the youth development fund and she advised the people to vote for Mr Mbaya who can help them access the fund.

Earlier, PF North Western Province chairperson Emmanuel Chihili and campaign manager Richard Kapita said it is now evident that victory is certain for the ruling party in Solwezi West.

  1. Vice President Inonge, you are supposed to be helping your boss sort out the endless list of economic problems he is buried under. Instead the whole time you are busy campaigning and squabbling with the opposition.

I believe Lungu is not making the best use of you as a Vice President or maybe you are incapable that’s why he has you constantly going mu mishi

    • Is there no other polical message other than blackmailing voters to exchange their vote for development which they are already entitled regardless? Our parties in government are never sincere, they play the same song from UNIP to PF thus far. Waiting for a pary and government that will change the tune.

    • There is no commitment to ending political violence by the Edgar and his PF.Just rhetoric. Was it not Edgar that was caught on video encouraging violence in Kapiri when he was Minister of Home Affairs. Mwanawasa (mhsrp) was the man, he took the bull by its horns. Stopped nonsensical cadre violence, airport escorts and took the kids of the streets. 2016 , PF kaya babele

    • The designer of her head gear didn’t think it through… Or maybe it explains why TNORF CITOIRTAP love looking backwards using smoke and mirrors… The cultural identity bracelets rule supreme. Plastic or Ivory, ma’am? If you say politically correct plastic then… Sorry what is she talking about? I am distracted by the ugly campaign shirts. My point. Give designers jobs. Freelancers are used to temporary passing phases and can work for all teams… Chuckle

    • Amayi Veep, please stop politicking all the time when the economy is in trouble. Solutions please is what we are looking for.

  2. Bo Inonge u should have morals u are old enough. Kafwaya was one of the main speakers at your campaign rallies was that a gvt or party activity? is it not your party that thru masumba is,buying cards at k100? ditributing bicycles, rice watches and cooking oil to electorates? little wonder u were not truthful even in your marriage.

  3. I THOUGHT INONGE WINA WAS A LEVE-HEADED PERSON. I DIDN’T KNOW THAT SHE HAS BEEN CORRUPTED BY LUNGU AS WELL. WINA IS PROVING TO BE ANOTHER THIEF IF PF. SO WINA IS AS WELL SCHEMING TO DESTROY OUR COUNTRY. HOW CAN WINA ADVOCATE FOR PEOPLE TO VOTE FOR THIS CROOKED PF GOVERNMENT, SO THAT PEOPLE CONTINUE SUFFERING LIKE THEY ARE NOW. ABASH PF! ABASH WINA! ABASH LUNGU!

  4. Bo Inonge amuna ma swabi? All you people are good at is campaigning. You and your boss can’t even call a press conference to ensure the citizenary that your government is working to address the prevailing issues in the Country but instead when it comes to compaigning for bi-elections you are always vocal and Zealous.

    • @ Debo
Come out of your slumber iwe. Are you the only one who never saw the President address the nation on 18 September 2015? Anyway badala, get your facts right. In PF, we don’t believe in too much talking but action and am sure once you read the speech, you will agree that all issues were addressed and the roadmap given.
Now do your part and work for your bread instead of just criticizing.

    • Last time the difference was 27 000 votes.

And that was before the collapse of the dollar, load shedding , massive job losses, quadrupled cost of living!!!

The lies of more jobs (now no jobs), lower taxes (now multiple taxes), more money in the pockets (now kaloba and corruption plus misery yama broke) have now caught ba PF!! Donchi kubeba,,,,,,,

  5. Ati its PF controlling the’ purse’ now,Ati part of euro -bond is meant for youth fimofimo,Ati UPND is going to develop the area using their own monies-I can now clearly that PF officials will be in trouble after their tenure of office due to corruption & no one must cry foul or witch -hunting! I really wonder why some institutions such as ACC,ITZ SACORD & NGOCC are not condemning all these hollow compulsions from these riff raffs morons masquerading as PF officials or even cite them for corruption! These stupid shameless looters are using our tax revenue to rant foolishly countrywide & they get paid for that! Its now a must & need for all well meaning Zambian to issue a red card for these fools! No wonder Luo & Dora are now very careful in their shallow ***!

  6. Bo Inonge don’t reduce yourself to that level. Why are you spreading rumors. Name the ward & the party.
The position of Veep or deputy head of govt has very little to do anywhere in the world. To make matters worse in our case Inonge is more politically astute & stronger than ECL. So Inonge will always just be flying around because no one is comfortable with her sitting in Lusaka.

  7. Ba Inonge you are too old now,go and rest.We can see age has caught up with, can’t reason properly. Yes, the money is with PF “for now” that’s the point.

  8. Grandpa Bo Inonge is a typical example of a token appointment…you will never find her at functions of economic importance…they crooks send her in the bushes to lecture whilst they do contrally to what she is ignorantly talking about.

  9. There is a ward in solwezi West known for its violence…….?! Bo Ma inonge,Let the police deal with this ward other than accusing your opponents of dishing out money to sort out your pf cadres as you claim. It seems “up and down” may get these two seats. I passed through both areas recently

  10. UPND is a violent Party and little wonder they will never form govt in Zambia.Who are they to hold the people of NWP hostage ? Police should immediately cage these chaps.

    • mwisho we are not hostage to UPND but except we dont practice belly politics and our freedom is not bought or compromised like that of Mpombo, Kanene, masumba and Nyama soya. These criminals are the *****s ECL brings to campaign here. This is not chimbokaila its solwezi west with free rational minds

  11. Solwezi urgently needs the guys from ZP’s Maintenance and Public Order Unit (Kanfinsa Paramilitary Unit) to come and discipline them. You can’t throw missiles at the Presidential or VP’s motorcade and you go freely!!! Who knew that Lusaka’s Chibolya Compound can be this quite? Again Police had to tear gas these backward thugs after they tried to throw missiles at the VP’s motorcade at Kyawama market.

    • The woman needed a stone in the mouth to stop talking rubbish. May be she is experiencing the old flashes!
      Just go home bo Inonge.

  12. One would expect that the vice president and the entire government will address real issues affecting the people such as poverty among ordinary Zambians poor and delayed salaries for civil servants but to the people’s surprise she only talks about politics it is unfortunate that things are happening the way they are in this country

  13. These UPND chaps should immediately be arrested. They are becoming violent because they have realized that PF has now penetrated NWP and Western. They are now remaining with Southern province.

    • Even Southern Province has been lost to PF and that’s why UPND is in this panicking mode! I was this in Sinazongwe, PF has penetrated the UPND bedroom!!!

  14. Putting ED’s picture on the sleeve is hilarious. I like the top photo although on a tee shirt that image could really frighten small children…. Haha.

  15. This woman is a snake. This is the same treacherous woman who double played scott and lungu. She’s not trustworthy at all even at her age. Shameful.

  16. When we lose 2016 elections,i will have to retire to my farm to concentrate on farming. My money is finished and i am tired.

  17. God who is telling lies ? who has money between PF and UPND ? Inonge wina dont tell lies . Tamumfwa nensoni yaba ! you think upnd can fight when the ff dogs the police are watching ? if Veep could be a pathetic lire who shall tell the truth ? we dont want development that is only promised when the is a bye election

  18. Please respect our mother…..Her honor The Republican Vice President of Zambia. She is a woman of high integrity.UPND being a tribal party are saying Presido Lungu was wrong to appoint some one from Western as Veep and you in NWP who are related to Wina are busy yapping up and down slogans. What kind of people are you ? dont you think you are just being used ?

  19. UPND are not tribal and that is why they are winning next year. This Wina woman left UPND because her tribesman Sakwiba lost. She is now exploring for a Lozi president project in PF.

  20. Just becos the youth no longer support you due to the fact that they cannot find any jobs
don’t blame opposition for something that is not true . sort out the mess you have created and perhaps they might support you

  21. This expensive and endless season of electioneering is most shameful indeed! I do not think there is any people in the world today that has so badly misunderstood democracy! And looking at the dear cost of this charade amidst such a calamitous decline in the country’s economic fortunes, one wonders why these PF lumpens cannot see that their mission is a disaster. Blind in the most extreme the people ruling Zambia are indeed.

  22. If only bloging was this civil, away from insults, save for a few uncultured blogers, like Manzo, (talking about her marriage? How petty!) I would be reading LT daily. The insults spewed on this site are nauseating to say the least! But am happy with the level of respect this woman commands. Let’s respect our women. And one wonders why a very precise blog from Ngombala Muhapi wa Linaha would get a down tick. What do Zambians have between their ears, hope it’s not sewer water!

  23. Inonge Wina should retire. How can a person of her age be talking about trivia. Honestly how does this woman even represent Zambia?

  24. We have not yet penetrated in SP Sinazongwe. We ar still struggling to penetrate and am not sure if Siamunene will make it next year in this area. I see Siamunene losing terribly. I wonder why Chagwa gave this danderhead a job of defence minister. This is a stronghold of UPND and we are just trying to test the people of SP but its not easy.
