The Electoral Commission of Zambia has disclosed that 301,103 new voters were added to the voters register during the first phase of the voter registration exercise.
The exercise ran from September 14 to September 21Â 2015.
A further 324,941 voters verified their details wit regard to transfers, card replacements and amendments.
2,342 were notifications of deceased voters.
The figures were released by ECZ Spokesman Cris Akufuna in a statement.
Lusaka has so far registered the highest number of voters with 61,906 followed by Southern Province wit 49,002 while Copperbelt as the third highest number of registered voters so far with 43,504.
Mr Akufuna also said that all persons with disability should ensure that their disability is recorded by a registration officer even if they are already registered.
He said the information gathered will help the Commission prepare adequately for persons with disabilities.

What are you doing about the registration exercise? Go and mobilise the party especially in our strongholds and be more effective. We don’t the repeat of January 2015 statistics. PF has to be very serious with this exercise. If you can’t see what UPND is doing now in Southern Province then you are letting President Lungu down.
