As Zambians from all walks of life yesterday converged in different places in observance the now National Prayer , Bible Gospel Church in Africa (BIGOCA) Over-seer Bishop Peter Ndhlovu is of the view that the country needs more prayers in view of various social-economic challenges.
Dr. Ndhlovu says following yesterday’s nationwide prayer, fasting and reconciliation, God has decreed and blessed Zambia forever adding that no-man could reverse it.
The clergyman paid homage to President Edgar Lungu’s declaration of 18th October , 2015 as a day of National Prayers saying the decision was inevitable as the country is faced with many challenges among them: the falling Zambian Kwacha, disrespect for elders and a near absence of civility in discourse, high unemployment levels , and high poverty levels, among others.
The clergyman said this yesterday at the Lusaka Show grounds during the national prayer, fasting and reconciling day which was attended by Republican President Edgar Lungu and his Vice Inonge Wina.
The event was spiced by local gospel artists who sung and performed various songs. Members of the clergy present commended President Lungu for declaring the day.
And Chief Chipepo of the Tonga speaking people in Gwembe district, Southern province said that no- sitting Zambian Head of state shall die while in office.
Chief Chipepo, who represented other traditional leaders in the country, said the prayers held today were a deal done because the Lord was changing the destiny and direction of the nation.
He proclaimed divine favour on President Lungu and the Zambian people for seeking God first in the face of the prevailing social- economic challenges facing the country.
And Northmead Pentecostal Assemblies of God Overseer, Bishop Joshua Banda prayed for unity, peace among the political players ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
Dr. Banda, who is also Senior Pastor, appealed the Electoral Commission of Zambia ( ECZ ) to ensure that it conducts and runs a free and fair elections in 2016 and beyond. He advised government to equip the Commission with the necessary and adequate logistics that go with elections.
First republican president Kenneth Kaunda also blessed President Lungu as he governs the country to greater prosperity.
Apostle Doctor Alfred Ndhlovu was overly dramatic, almost like Kambwili or some stuupid cadre…………?? Maybe am too critical, but I saw this in this BIGOCA man, typical of those brown enveloped days of FJT.
This was just a political gimmick, campaign tool and a way to woodwink dossy and ignorant Zambians all in the name of Christian nation, prayer and reconciliation. Politicians are hypocrites mwebantu; they can use anything including matters of the spirit to cheat people, for them to be seen like they are God-fearing. They have 2016 in-sight, remember. Just wait for 2016 and you will see pangas, bullets and insults will be flying all over.

Should it take a politician to call for prayer? why would a Bishop wait for a politician to tell them when to pray.

Various Cleaners at Lusaka’s show grounds this morning woke up to a rude shock; only to find used condoms littered everywhere…especially in hidden places – horse and livestock stables, drainages, merry-go-rounds, and even in open grounds: all this at a place where people were supposedly praying and fasting for reconciliation and their sins to be forgiven.
It appears attendants decided to break the fast at 18hrs by having illicit sex while others imbibed illicit whisky brews, popularly known as ‘ma junta.’
“This is the kind of typical behavior you find at church overnights – ma choir nama praise team, I’m not surprised” said one irrate cleaner.

The International Astrologist had told President Lungu two months before yesterday’s purported Sunday Service for prayer and fasting that on 18th October Zambia would experience the common Phenomenon of the Rainbow surrounding the sun. It was after Edgar Lungu was assured by the geographers that he chose 18th October 2015 knowing for sure that on such a date, a rainbow would appear and such a thing would happen and connived with certain pastors who were led by Bishop Chomba to blow it and claim it was God’s sign of accepting prayers.
