PF does not have the numbers to pass the constitution bill – Chama

Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Chama
Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Chama

PF Secretary General Davies Chama has said that the ruling party does not have the numbers in Parliament to single handedly secure the passage of the Constitution Bill into law.

Mr. Chama said that contrary to suggestions by the Grand Coalition on the Campaign for the People Driven Constitution that it practically has 109 members in Parliament, the ruling PF only has 87 members.

He has told Qfm News in an interview that the fact that it will require at least 106 Members of Parliament to get a majority vote in the House, the success of the Constitution Bill depends both on the PF and the opposition.

Mr. Chama stated that this means that the ruling PF will not get the blame if the Constitution Bill fails in Parliament.

He said that there is nothing more the ruling PF can do other than what it has already done by taking the Constitution Bill to Parliament.

Mr Chama stated that the ruling party only hopes that MPs will support the Bill when it comes up for debate in the House.

Mr. Chama said the ruling party wants to put to an end to the debate on the enactment of the new Constitution once and for all.

Meanwhile, Political Activist Dante Saunders has demanded that PF Secretary General Davies Chama apologizes to Zambians for telling them to urinate in Lake Kariba in order to fill up the lake for power generation.

Mr. Saunders said that Mr. Chama ought to know that his remarks are tantamount to insulting Zambians including elderly people.

He has told QFM News that it is disappointing that Mr. Chama did not consider how injurious his statement would be to elderly people.

Mr. Saunders said that it is sad that Mr. Chama has continued uttering irresponsible remarks even when he came under attack for his tribal remarks against the Tonga Speaking people earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Mr. Saunders says both the ruling PF and UPND should take responsibility for the recent violence in Kitwe and Mongu.

    • This Chama and Lungu (his president) are totally differed.
      1. He held a joint declaration with Miles Sampa, after Lungu called Sampa as Mukukulu.
      2. Chama missed a tour of Bauleni, for first time.
      3. Chama says PF is to blame for not having enough votes on constitution, but his president said DON’T blame PF government.

      Signs of separation:

  1. Chama is not a Christian he hides in christianity. Today they are in power but anything is possible during 2016. Let him torn down.

    • What is a true christian? What were your ancestors before the white missionaries came on your land? Wake up from your folly and research about who you really are INSTEAD of being cheated by your slave masters.

    • Jesus himself was not a Christian, assuming that he actually lived.
And Christianity did not exist for many years after he was said to have died.
The books that speak of him came into being less than a thousand years ago!

    • @ Sattish

Stick to your Gods, leave Christianity for Christians to comment about otherwise comments about cooking the steak or worshiping snake may follow.

  2. BA CHAMA DON’T FOOL US, WHEN WE KNOW THAT YOU HAVE TAKEN ALL DEPUTY MINISTERS AND OTHER APPOINTED MPS UNDER PF CONTROL.

  3. Chama surely takes us for ***** how many opposition MPs are on ministerial payroll and then you have R. Banda’s MPs from MMD…and this empty tin is also the chairman of ZRL, image being a fly on wall in that comical board room; probably talk football to clock up allowances

  4. boring UPND, do you really have to say something on anything? So when PF politicians fart you will just have to open your mouth, swallow the smell, and say something mwa?

  5. How is this Saunders thing referred to as a political analysts instead of a upnd cadre? media can you please correct that misleading title

    • Saunders whoever he is a just a useless UPND cadre. These are the chaps that were stealing our resources in UNIP era and they still want to steal more with their crooks in UPND. Thank God, it will never happen.
How come Maureen Mwanawasa is the only former first lady who is so desperate to associate herself with crooked thieves after all the damage she did when his husband was president? Doesnt this ring a bell? Where is the Maureen Mwanawasa foundation? Can she account for that money that went into that personal kantemba?
And how far has the K Billion HIV anti retrovirus money case gone? Zambians must learn to be harsh and turf with these thieves.
Let Maureen Mwanawasa be careful this time around otherwise, we will unleash imimbulu on her.

  6. HOW ON EARTH CAN A COUNTRY WITH AN AGENDA FOR THE COUNTRY HAVE PEOPLE LIKE MORON DAVIS CHAMA AS ONE OF ITS LEADERS AND A PROMINENT LEADER FOR THAT MATTER? IF IT WERE IN OTHER COUNTRIES LIKE BOTSWANA, DAVIES CHAMA WOULD HAVE LONG BEEN FIRED AFTER INSULTING CITIZENS THAT THEY SHOULD ALL GO AND URINATE IN KARIBA DAM TO FILL IT SO TURBINES CAN START ROTATING, BECAUSE SUCH UNPALATABLE LANGUAGE IS UNHEARD OF IN SUCH CIVILIZED COUNTRIES. ZAMBIA IS INDEED BACKWARD WHEN IT COMES TO GOVERNANCE BY POLITICIANS. IT’S LIKE IN ZAMBIA WE HAVE NO LAWS AND NO GOVERNANCE POLICIES. ZAMBIAN POLITICAL LEADERS ARE FULL OF HATE AGAINST THEIR OWN CITIZENS WHO EVEN VOTED THEM INTO POWER. ZAMBIA IS A VISION LESS COUNTRY.

  7. African leaders are some of the most primitive beings on this earth. Even when they have failed miserably and people show it clearly that they don’t want them any more, instead of doing the honorable thing by resigning, they still want to impose themselves on people by clinging on to power. They now feel they are the masters over the electorate! What a shame!

    • @ Kaputo Davies
So you are implying that even your ka Under 5 and entire opposition, UPND inclusive, are primitive because they are all Africans, so why then do you contradict youselves by over rating ka failed HH politician?
Think before you open your mouths and put rubbish on paper. PF Government has NOT FAILED AND IT WILL NOT FAIL! Challenges are for real men to over come and President Lungu is equal to the task, not your Under 5.

  8. @UFO or whatever you call yourself! To start with am non partizan but just an interested person in what is happening in the beloved country of my birth! If I may ask you! how has PF or indeed Lungu improved you life and that of your family since they assumed power! Answer that question honestly in your heart! You cannot compare yourself to me in terms of everything! I don’t know you but I know am better off! Believe or not, what am saying is the truth! Insult me but its you in Zambia who is feeling the heat! Grow up, get a life!
