As we have said before, comments are the engine that drive this website. Since we launched in 2007, we have recorded 2.78 million comments left on this site by our users. Of this number 1.51 million were discarded or deleted because there were considered as spam. The remaining 1.27 million were the good and published comments on the site.

This year we decided to give the award to the top contributor to the 1.27 million comments left on the site since we started and the award goes to the user with the ID Nostradamus for contributing a whopping 7,427 comments over the years.

Below is the list of the Top Five Contributors on the Site

Position ID Number of Comments Posted
1 Nostradamus 7,427
2 Jay Jay 6,774
3 Mushota 4,062
4 Nubian Princess 4,044
5 Senior Citizen 3,268

    • NO. THIS IS NOT RIGGING – REMEMBER AT ONE TIME MUSHOTA WENT MISSING ON THE WEBSITE AND WE WERE WONDERING ABOUT HER WHEREABOUTS. SUDDENLY SHE SHOWED UP AGAIN (MORE COMPOSED THAN BEFORE).

    • Kudos to the winners, especially to my fellow Tubulu @Nostradamus. Make the most of your time and reward yourself more handsomely this year, Bro (Luapula Premier) … Happy New Year!

    • @Nostradamus….Niwebo wabako. I wonder what time you go for work. Lol….come and buy some beers we celebrate i am in Chicago.

    • With all these internet connectivity problems in Zambia plus Zesco’s perpetual blackouts, you’ll notice that most people blog only using office hours, and considering the poor state of our economy, it’s clear that most bloggers use their employer’s internet facilities for blogging, making them unproductive in their jobs. Confirm with the relative low blogs on your weekend articles

    • 7000 comments??? Holy smoke! Some people have too much time on their hands.

How ’bout rewarding the best comments???

  1. Congratulations ba Nostry, i also congratulate myself for contributing to your willing when ever i used your name. LOL
    Big Up Bro Nostry..

Next big thing you have to do is jointing the most progressive party in Zambia The P. F.

  2. So even irrelevant comments for as long as you have commented it counts. Then if the winning is how many comments you’ve made only those who have less things to achieve in life will be winning. Some people are too busy with work and can not afford to be forever on LT to be making comments

    • …@Dombwa…
….LT site is available 24/7…..unless your job involves 12hr night shifts and when you knock off you are too tired and sleepy to blouse thru any site….or may be you rely on internet cafe’s…..
….if u are some-one like most of the bloggers who always itch for latest news in Zed…you would manage to spare atleast ten minutes of your busy schedule

    • in addition…
…mind you this data is for over a 9 yrs period….assuming an average of 10 articles for 365 days….posting comments to every article over the said period adds up to 32,850 postings…meanwhile the most consistence blogger only managed slightly over 7, 000 meaning he still had plenty of time to do other equally important things…

    • come on guys! seriously, those awarded people are jobless. they have nothing to do only blogging LT every single minute…

    • @Dombwa, you’re very right. 7427 comments in 9 years averages just over 2( say 3 ) comments per day. But we know and have seen that in the case of these top 5 bloggers an argument would ensue amongst themselves or other bloggers ( certain times unrelated to the news item) and result in each one of them blogging at least 10 times per day on a single topic!

  3. NICE APROACH BUT IMPROVE THE CHECK LIST WHICH SHUD MAKE WRITERS REDUCE ON HATE SPEECH,INSULTS WHICH IS GOING UP LIKE THOSE OF ZWD

  4. L T a blogger is someone who runs a blog. With respect to your site only these are not bloggers. Terminology

    • ..@kuya bebele…..
..’blogger’ is just one of those English words which have been accepted in online publications to refer to anyone who either posts an article or just a mere comment to any site….go to MSN UK or Yahoo they use the same terminology to refer to one posting a comment…
…apparently you have not given the correct terminology…what should we be called..??..@ vizungu suggests ‘posters’…..see how awkward it is…bola panshi please

  5. Wow! Congratulations Nostradamus. 7,427 very noxious, irritating and worthless comments and you win an online award! Life could not be any fairer..!

  6. this selection process should have included number of positive feedback [thumbs up] for comments posted.
I could have just been spamming the all topics with irrelevant comments and could wave been numero uno…

  7. Ba Lusaka Times, But when is my award coming? I thought I was supposed to be on forth or firth position.
I contributed alot of positive comments also.
Mwebantu Media and the Watchdoog should emulate your good work.

  8. If the discarded 1.51m posts were considered maybe the winner would have been……………………. Anyone guess?

    • mushota. and for all the bloggers shortlisted, do they have anything else to do. I mean 7000 comments, i dont know how long each comment was, but that amounts to write a book!!

  9. The five people above work for the Special Branch and some are paid Political party rabble rousers. How can any sane human being spend that much time posting rubbish on the internet?

  10. Did I miss something? Were these LT winners supposed to contribute their winnings to a Charity? You need to change the criteria. Posting is okay, but it should be what you say that matters.

Did I miss the pictures of Mushota handing over her cheque to some starving babes? Or is it all a UPND con?

Personally, I do not think Nostradamus should win, no matter his contributions. Is he not a bit anti Zambian? Probably am mixing him up with a pugnacious UPND. PARDON ME!

  11. @Scrutinizerer. You seem keen on using the internet. How about using it for spell check as well? “blouse” really?!? You just made my day, kikikiki! You want to check out something on the internet, just put on a “blouse”, hahahahaha!

    • …hahaha….man nga tulimu fast you just translate straight from vernacular….I noticed the mistake but I said what the heck…im sure abena Awe Sure will know what I mean…thanks man…

    • …hahaha….man nga tulimu fast you just translate straight from vernacular….I noticed the mistake but I said what the heck…im sure abena Awe Sure will know what I mean…thanks man…

  12. #Dombwa, I agree with you. I like the freedom on LT but true awards should be based not on how many comments a person has made but the quality of comments. LT is actually supposed to let the bloggers vote for the best blogger than them choosing based on the number of comments mad. So I can come and insult every day and end up being the best blogger. Now I know why Zambia is the way it is today. #Wanu Ngwee, some of us have personal Internet 24/7 but we choose to use different ID’s during the week or weekend. And when we don’t blog,t does not mean that we don’t have Internet connectivity
