“THE schemes by the Patriotic Front (PF) to attempt to rig the general elections is a sign that the ruling party has lost the confidence of Zambians and can only resort to electoral malpractice to cling to power, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has charged.
Mr Mwamba whom is UPND vice-president for administration has alleged that some former PF supporters had revealed that the ruling party was encouraging its cadres to obtain more than one voter cards in a bid to rig the general elections.
Mr Mwamba said the ruling party should stop fantasizing that it was going to win the general elections scheduled for 11th August because Zambians were determined to change Government and that the UPND was the only alternative.
He explained that a former PF member who has defected to the UPND had produced three voters’ cards which he acquired illegally.
Mr Mwamba who could not give the name the former PF member said such matters should not go unattended to as it could be seen that the PF had started rigging even before people started voting. He said the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) had to clarify how it was possible for one individual to have three cards. ‘’ As a party our position would be that we have to petition the ECZ, they need to explain how one person can have three voters cards under one name, ‘’ he said.
UPND has to demand AUDITING of the voters roll! And all duplicates have to be deleted and removed from the voters roll. So if the name Paya Panga with same NRC is listed in both matero and in chawama, you have to delete one record because that is FRAUD!
So UPND, seriously engage the courts and the ECZ to sort this one out. Learn from opposition in KENYA, you have to be pro-active, no one will fight your battles! Get the ECZ voters register audited! Stop sleeping!
Also, on voting day, make sure before you sign off, all votes are properly added up!

Certainly, such reckless statements are a prelude to fuel despondence in last hope of pushing for a wishful GNU. Tough luck this is a strategy of vanity because a few useful inimical front agents of foreign corporate interests will never be allowed to risk the peace, unity and security of our dearest country. UPND thinks they can use Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)’s template in Zambia. Go ask Mozambique’s Afonso Dhlakama if Renamo has scored with that template. UPND is very weak and vulnerable if they have to shove anarchy on the throats of Zambians.

But what was is rigging @ The Real People? Is it not manipulating outcomes? If it is, it can be done at any point in the process right? And the 2016 electoral process has started with massive voter registration. With the next major phases being the campaigns somewhere around May and the the actual vote casting – and rigging can can at any of those points.

Comment: iam a zambian who lives in zambia. This means that challenges affecting the country also affect me. However, i strongly feel that changing the government at this juncture for me is not right way to go. I feel president Lungu means well for this country. Those who want to wrestle power from him at whatever cost, i don’t think they are doing it for me as a poor zambian but are doing for themselves. The Elections will be very peaceful and clean. I would like to agree with UPND vice president for administration, honourable GBM, it ‘s important tha they guard votes strictly. Ba GBM, with due respect, this is the whole reason why we need MPS with atleast a grade 12 certificate because they understand issues better. I was one of the Assisstant Registration Officers, and I can testify that alot of people, including GBM have more than one voters card but they are not appearing more than once in the system. If they are, the system will sort them out and they will appear in the exclusion list. They will not even vote. Please consult the relevant authority before you expose yourself as a dull vice president. Infact its a crime to possess more than one voters card. Report him to Police. You are even hiding his identity just because he has defected to UPND.
Does this mean you were also rigging when you where with PF?, Zambian journalists don’t know the right questions to ask its shameful.

Fat Albert is an illegal Vice President of uPMD. The uPMD constitution does not allow dual party membership, so GBM must forget about running mate, that is why HH says his least of worries is choosing between the two Vice Presidents. What he is worried about is giving the running mate to a prohibited immigrant as that would cost him some precious votes in southern province.
UPND are expecting to loss the eelections. So they are preparing execuses.
HH said same thing last time around..even now HH still maintain that EL rigged elections.
The bottom line is 50 plus 1 so much favor PF. HH was closer to EL last time coz turn out in EL stronghold was very poor. While turn out in HH stronghold was 99%.
PF understand this and will campaign and ensure that EL gets 99% turn over in PF stronghold.
