Salulani suffered a hip injury in the first half of Zambia’s 1-0 win over Uganda on January 23 in Rubavu.

Zambia team physician Doctor Joseph Kabungo said Salulani has a suffered a hip contusion injury.

“He has a right hip injury and he’s on treatment. He cannot play against Mali. We will continue with treatment and assess his progression going into the quarterfinals,” Dr Kabungo said.

Salulani who has started in both Group D games, won the match of the match award in Zambia’s 1-0 win over Zimbabwe on January 19.

    • The usual mediocre thinking of an average Zambian. You should aim for a win all the time. That is how you ended up exporting all your maize after four consecutive bumper harvests, thinking you will always have bumper harvests and if all goes wrong you will import from Brazil. There is a price to pay for mediocrity. You aim for a draw, then you lose and face a much more stronger opponent from the other group. just like you export your maize cheaply to Zimbabwe, Malawi and South Africa only to end up buying maize at three times the price from Brazil
