Chipolopolo defender Christopher Munthali says he will not appeal the two-month ban slapped on him by FAZ for breaching his contract with Power Dynamos.

The Football Association of Zambia Player Status Committee on Wednesday banned Munthali from all football activitiess and ruled in favour of Power after he signed another contract with Nkana in December claiming he was a free agent.

Munthali say he is ready to serve the ban.

“I have nothing much to say now but I am not appealing the ban. Yes, I am ready to serve the ban. I will just focus on training,” Munthali told Radio Icengelo on Wednesday.

He has been ordered to report back to Power.

His contract with Power expires on December 31, 2016.

  1. Comment: Go back to school and also concentrate on your training. Don’t leave it to late coz you’ll regret. Football alone won’t get you anywhere . You’ll be loved when you go to school by all Zambians.

  2. But what is Nkana doing to the exco members who handled the illegal transfer? Some one there should resign or be fired. GUYS, LET’S BE SERIOUS at Nkana. Ifyakufyusha ba player ubushiku fyamu welensky. This is modern football now.

  3. I think Munthali is now comfortable with a Surf and plasma TV he bought in Rwanda. He can now forget about football as these two items will sustain him for the rest of his life.

  4. Ba Munthali, you need to go back to school so that in future such things do no occur. At least wil be able to understand the contract than letting school dropouts do it for you. In this modern football era such mishaps should not be happening. That’s why we need a grade 12 certificate as minimum basic requirement in all sectors.

  5. My question is, will Munthali play for power with passionate? His heart is at Nkana where he explicitly wanted to be this coming season.

    • On a serious note, there was another ‘Contract’ that was being brandished by Nkana claiming Munthali’s contract ended December 2015 and was purportedly signed by Power and the player himself. What has happened to that? Do I smell forgery, uttering..?

  6. Responding to Vizungu, let the law takes its course on the second contract which was being brandished by Nkana claiming Munthali’s contract with Power ended in December 2015. This contract which had both signatures of Power Officials and the player himself had been altered from the original copy.
