Chief Government Spokesman Chishimba Kambwili says he is not interested in lining up for a beauty contest with UPND Vice President Geoffrey Mwamba because he is a model.
On Tuesday, Mr Mwamba challenged Mr Kambwili to go for a beauty contest with me and allow women to choose who was better looking as he issued disparaging remarks directed at Mr Kambwili’ s physical appearance.
But Mr Kambwili said he will not take up the challenge because he is not a model but a politician and a servant of the people.
“I am not a model or a beautician. I am a politician and a servant of the people, I will not bring myself down to GBM’s level because the whole country can see that he is a low quality leader,” he said.
He said a man that indulges in insults proudly and calls for a beauty contest when he is aspiring to be the Vice President of a great nation cannot be taken seriously.
“If GBM is man enough I challenge him to a live television debate on national issues, such as the social economic and political situation in our country. I challenge him to address real issues that are affecting the nation, not his recent comic outbursts,” he said.
“I am not interested in modelling I am interested in improving the livelihood of the Zambian citizens. Since GBM feels like a challenge, let him come live on TV with me so that the nation can judge just how far his thinking goes.”
Mr Kambwili said he hopes and trusts that the UPND Vice President is not an ardent coward and is capable of articulating himself against me in front of the nation.

I believe it is time for our politicians to realize that the days of verbal lampooning without wit are now behind us or just disappearing. Now we need to redefine our politics and know the limits to which they can actually play a life-sustaining role in our citizens’ lives!

Wasn’t Kambwili condemned by UPND for his disparaging remarks about nalumango? This is what is sad about a once clean UPND but now embraced this man known for the sebana wikute theory and the nimpiya shabuteko principle and his uncouth habits . The thuggish William Banda and the overambitious Sampa. How do you now say you can change Zambia? When the difference is the same?
But Kambwili called Nalumango ugly. So what has changed?

When did Kambwili ever engage the nation in a profound discourse on the social economic and political situation of this country? He has so far only been popular for insults and tribalism.
GBM’s still the same man who once was the third most senior guy in this govt. He has actually acted as president under PF before, a feat Kambwili has yet to achieve. GBM left PF on his own.

I honestly believe if this debate will really take place that GBM is a better articulator of issues than CK.
A DEBATE BETWEEN KAMBWILI AND GBM ON THE ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND POLITICAL SITUATION OF THE COUNTRY MODERATED BY GREVASIO ZULU ON SUNDAY WOULD BE VERY INTERESTING AND A CROWD PULLER. THAT EVENING NO ONE WOULD BE IN A PUB BUT AT HOME TO LISTEN TO SUCH A DEBATE.
I doubt if changwa would allow a GBM vs Chimbwili debate, it would spell doom for him because people will cry for a HH vs Changwa debate as the icing on the cake.

Kambwili call for a television debate with GBM as you are the minister of Information and has liverage over ZNBC. This Zambians have been calling for a long time now. Even presidential debates need be conducted on tv as is the case world over. Call for one, a challenge you need to relish with of genuine manhood

There is nothing for PF to debate but succumb to first round pinfall. There is too much against PF for Chishimba to defend successfully. GBM is street wise but also a veteran businessman and I doubt if many can really outdo him on matters of business and social development.
