Zesco move to 2nd place, Zanaco wallop Dynamos

Zesco United moved into second place on the FAZ Super Division table after a 2-0 away win over Napsa Stars in a delayed Week 2 fixture at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.

A brace from Kenyan striker Jesse Were in the 32nd and 62nd minutes handed Zesco their fourth straight win in as many Super Division games played this season with three matches in hand.

Zesco topple Nakambala Leopards from 2nd place to 3rd only on goal difference on 12 points.

Meanwhile, across town at Sunset Stadium, 2015 runners-up Zanaco made easy work of Lusaka Dynamos whom they crushed 4-0.

Fashion Sakala scored a brace in the 18th and 38th minutes after Charles Zulu had put Zanaco ahead in the 7th minute.

Isaac Chansa scored the third goal in the 34th minute to help Zanaco stay unbeaten in the league from three matches played with another four in hand on maximum 9 points.

Zanaco’s victory also saw them make up for last Tuesday’s exit from the 2016 Confederation Cup when they lost 3-0 away to Stade Gabesien of Tunisia to bow out 4-1 on aggregate.
