United party for National Development(UPND) President hakainde Hichilema has said that former President’s son Mulenga Sata has chosen to be on the right side of history by defecting from PF to UPND. In a statement to his supporters, Mr Hichilema said that Mr Sata has chosen to put national interest before personal interest.
Mr Hichilema, who described Mr Sata as a key figure in PF, said that the former president’s son has done what ought to be done when things are not as they should be and when leadership is absent or uninterested in delivering on what it has promised.

We are grateful to have received late President Michael Sata’s son Mulenga Sata into the UPND family today.
We understand the difficulties and troubles Mulenga Sata had to face when making a decision to leave his late father’s party, the Patriotic Front (PF), to join the UPND. But like many great leaders, Mulenga, who is a Lusaka Province Minister and also served as State House Deputy Minister and is also the former Mayor of Lusaka has chosen to be on the right side of history. He has chosen to put national before personal interest.
As a key figure in the PF, Mulenga has done what ought to be done when things are not as they should be and when leadership is absent or uninterested in delivering on what it has promised. This means a lot to us all because it involves serving the greater good of our nation by building support for peace, unity and progress.
Our forefathers joined hands and came together in 1964 and delivered independence. Great leaders in our history again united in 1990 and reintroduced multiparty politics. In 2016 it is time for Zambians from all walks of life to come together and deliver economic liberation under the UPND leadership.
To all our existing UPND members, our appeal once more is to be welcoming and accommodating to all our fellow Zambians that want to unite this nation.
We also received a number of other equally important citizens today during the press briefing at Chainama hotel in Lusaka, coming from various political parties and positions.
There is no time to listen to those with no vision or plan for suffering Zambians, and no good will ever come from dwelling on hate speech and divisive sentiments.
Welcome you all to UPND.

So many political failures have joined UPND of late. But alas! I am yet to feel their impact…Lupando Mwape, Bob Sichinga, Miles Sampa, Guy Scott & Wife, Maureen Mwanawasa, VJ, Mwaliteta, Felix Mutati and the so called MMD MPs, GBM, etc and now Mulenga Sata…At least GBM is busy insulting anyone who passes across his face including HH….Flight HH2016 has been overloaded with PF/MMD rejected excess baggage and is bound to crush on 11/08/16…and there will be no surviver.
The great thing with Zambians is that they don’t get dissuaded easily by so called politicians and their connections. There has been no dynasty established in Zambia. Starting with KK, Chiluba, Mwanawasa, Banda and now Sata. Non of their children have amounted to much politically. We are smart and don’t associate political success with family name. Just saying. I would like to know if truly this guy doesn’t have a grade 12 certificate. If that is the case then I applaud the addition of the clause in the constitution. People will put premium on education in Zambia.

What Cobra junior said is very true. You know, it’s not that we hate Lungu and support HH for no reason. Lungu is simply incompetent and does not what he is doing no does he understand what needs to be done. You hear it from what he says and see what he does. Don’t forget that Michael Sata sought an alliance with UPND for a better Zambia, when the country was in need of kicking out of office RB and the MMD regime….. The failed alliance meant the failure to liberate Zambia even with the victory of the PF alone…. Sata’s death was just to confirm that Zambia was not redeemed from the shacles of MMD.. and that was evident by the return of RB, DORA in EL’s PF and many more issues that have led Zed to be the division 1 type of a team in Zambia’s soccer scene… As for me and my house and friends we want to see a Zambia that goes FORWARD, that has a good shepherd, KACHEMA MUSUMA, as the Christians would put it, when talking about the One the know well to be their Good Sherphard…

Wise leaders wud not play scorn on Mulenga’s defection to the UPND, instead take time to put to an end the factors that lead to these defections. These are the same people who regrouped for January, 2015 elections but the results were different. Even now please wait and see the mighty hand of the Lord. There is no one who can change things in Zambia in one year, we have to change our mindset first ie the way our civil servants work and take accountability of our little resources.
