Mighty beat Forest Rangers

Mighty Mufulira Wanderers on Friday picked up their first win under Portuguese-born coach Paulo Silva from his two games in charge.

Mighty beat Forest Rangers 1-0 at Shinde Stadium in Mufulira to hand Silva his first wins from two games in charge after kicking off his tenure with a 1-1 draw away to Zesco United on Tuesday.

Striker Rahim Osumanu headed-in the winner in the 27th minute off a Taonga Bwembya cross.

It was the Ghana-born strikers second successive goal after scoring in that draw with Zesco.

Osumanu could have walked away with at least a hat-trick but his 14th minute and 47th efforts were parried and saved respectively by Forest goalkeeper Jairos Mulenga.

Forest had a great chance to secure an equalize in the 83rd minute but Nawa Nawa failed to connect with Logic Chingandu’s cross.

Mighty rise to 11th place on 21 points, three behind Forest who stay put in 7th position ahead of the rest of the Week 18 games that will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
