Fit-again Kalaba fires Mazembe to victory

Rainford KalabaZambia captain and midfielder Rainford Kalaba returned from injury to lead TP Mazembe to victory in the CAF Confederation Cup on Wednesday.

Mazmebe beat MO Bejaia of Algeria 1-0 at home in Lubumbashi to stay top of Group A.

Kalaba, who missed the 0-0 away first leg match a fortnight ago due to thigh injury, scored for Mazembe in the 61st minute.

He was later substituted in the 85th minute.

Midfielder Nathan Sinkala played the full 90 minutes and was one of two Zambians in the 18 players selected for the match.

Mazembe lead Group A on 10 points five ahead of Medeama of Ghana with two games left to play.

  1. Now Zambian players like Kalaba and others should replicate that fire power when playing for our national team not just headlines in foreign countries unless you Guys tell us that you are not Zambians. Congrats to TP Mazembe and Zesco for good performance.
