Ex-Zambia and Green Buffaloes striker Dudley Fichite was on Thursday sentenced to 25-years in jail with hard labour for defiling a minor.
Lusaka High Court Judge Sharon Newa said Fichite’s sentence is a warning for anyone abetting defilement in society.
Fichite on a date in December 2014 defiled a a 10-year-old minor who was on holiday at his home.
The minor was later infected with HIV-AID and Syphilis following the act.
Fichite, 36 who is a Staff Sergent in the Zambia Army, was prior to his conviction assistant coach at FAZ Division 1 club Riflemen.
Very sad and pathetic behaviour, especially from a public figure who should have been a role-model to the youth. Perhaps we should blame it on his name…Please chose good nanes for your children.

Unfortunately Fichite can’t sing praises to Lungu like General Kanene. Maybe, and only maybe Kalusha can beg Lungu tomorrow so that Fichite can be pardoned on Monday, they (PF) may earn some votes from Green Buffaloes sponsors.

Extremely sad for the poor girl. I remember watching him play for GBFC with the Katongo brothers, when I was a kid. Very disappointing.

25 years in unreasonable. This child has a disease that will likely kill her and cause her so much pain and trauma. Life imprisonment is befitting for what he did. Let this be a lesson to the Kanene’s of this world. And then some a.ss goes and pardon’s him. This is what we call a lack of vision and leadership.

I only remember war chap at one of the Africa cups where Zambia of course performed poorly and was eliminated in the first round and the commentator kept calling him as Fichait.
