8 UPND CADRES WERE ASSAULTED BY PF CADRES IN MTENDERE COMPOUND, SAYS POLICE IG

EIGHT members of the United Party for National Development (UPND) have been assaulted in clashes between their party and the Patriotic Front (PF) cadres.

Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja has confirmed in a statement today that the eight were injured during a political violence between the two political parties at Zambeef in Mtendere compound yesterday.

Kanganja says the incident happened when the PF cadres were waiting for their parliamentary candidate Nkandu Luo while the UPND cadres were passing through dropping their political fliers.

The IG has named the eight injured UPND supporters as Austin Simweene aged 21 of Bauleni compound, Peter Mukupa of Mtendere East, Kebby Muchala Lungwe aged 29 also of Mtendere East, Thomas Phiri of Bauleni compound, and David Mweemba Malama of Bauleni compound.

Others are Tyson Zulu of Kalikiliki, Mildred Kailu aged 46 of Kalingalinga, and Obert Hankamba aged 37 of Mtendere compound.

“During the same confusion, two Samsung phones valued at K7 000, K18 000 cash and a laptop valued at K5 000 all property of Kosamu Tembo are reported to have been stolen,” Kanganja says.

“A public address system valued at K15 000 belonging to Panot Ngandu of Mtendere compound was also stolen.”

He says medical report forms were issued to those who were injured and that dockets will be opened as soon as complainants take back the said documents.

“We have instituted investigations in the matter and whoever will be found wanting will be dealt with accordingly irrespective of their political affiliation,” says Kanganja.

      #chagwamustfall!! #PamaFikuyabebele!!

      I thank you!!

    • Don’t be so stupid !! Of course they were on campaign trail. As ZAMBIANS, THEY HAVE FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT. How is that you PF people have the same brains as your leader Iungu?

    • PF cadres were only interested in stealing as per they style of doing things in PF. Stealing is at the center of any operation in PF

  3. UPND please listen stop starting up fights when rich people are having coffee you having shake shake and losing your minds

    • PF please stop accepting 50 kwacha to kill people while your leaders are amassing million in dollar terms of tax payers money. Pretending to be working since may but in actual fact siphoning state resources and giving you pocket money.

  4. So brothers you have seen busy throwing stones at UPND bus ati we are killing Tongas kasha you killing your brothers and sisters. Most of the pipo in the bus were Easterners and bembas.UPND now belong to all people no one can claim to own UPND.So brothers seize fire we are Zambians.HH can be trusted after all he is a Zambian.

  5. I doubt really if it’s genuine PF cadres cos of this operation watermelon. I suspect that they failed to share the cash given by HH hence stoning each other

  6. This useless PF IG cadres is being economical with the truth. How can they say the two camps clashed when it is all there to be viewed by all; a blatant attack by PF. Kanganja, even if it is sebana wikute, surely at your age haven’t you gathered even a bit to afford mealie meal and kapenta rather than basturdise your soul for a bowl of porridge in the order of Esau?!

    Mune bello yalila……..

  7. The IG Kanganja has spoken. Why doesn’t Essau Chulu of ECZ get it? PF cadres attacked UPND supporters while they were distributing flyers in Mtendere. For a change Chairman of ECZ ,Justice Essau Chulu should display some professionalism and condemn PF as aggressors. If Chulu can’t do a simple thing like this how can we trust him with counting election results and announcing a Winner if the loser is his appointing authority? How can ECZ be trusted? They need to do something positive to earn the respect and trust. With one day b4 the Polling Day where is the Final Voters Register? What ECZ is doing with the Final Voters Register is a recipe for disaster. Lets hope many voters have not been disenfranchised. Zambia Forward with HH and UPND.

  8. Is it because of the presence of the international observers that the country has returned to normalcy?Interesting, even Kanganja has abandoned his role as a PF Party cadre now, or could it be that it is obvious that Lungu has lost the presidency?

  9. Once again UPND acts to provoke violence so as to be seen as the victims, the cowardice and evil minds of UPND leadership and their cowardly bloggers never cease to amaze me! YOU CAN FOOL SOME PEOPLE SOMETIMES BUT YOU CANT FOOL ALL THE PEOPLE EVERYTIME!

Why causing trouble? The PF cadres were provoked by these violent UPND thugs. The Law will clearly find UPND thugs are to blame.

  10. Here again Lungu will say that he does not control cadres, for his job is just to ensure that there is peace in the country; WHAT A RHETORIC! This man just denies everything he is responsible for. Can you imagine a five year term under this lunatic? Zambia wake up and vote him out tomorow. Iam concerned because I have relatives there in Zambia.

  11. This is a first for Kanganga to admit that PF cadres assaulted UPND. But if the offending cadres were UPND, they would have been in police cells by now. lock these PF cadres. they mocked God praying and then committing acts of violence to ask for another prayer later. Lungu has lost control of Zambia.

  12. Kanganja, blood is on your hands. PF is using you to cause violence. You fail to arrest PF terrorists and you shoot innocent opposition political cadres. You have failed to arrest the Officer who shot Mapenzi. Please be aware PF will leave office but Zambia will remain.

  13. Real Watermelon at work in Mtendere hahaha kikikikiki. Pwitititi. Don’t think Zambians are not intelligent even those of us who are not educated can differentiate green from another colour.
It’s just a few hours of hiding in idioms. We will hear real songs from some people. Can’t wait!!!!!

  14. UPND AND ITS KAPONYAS ARE DAY DREAMING,H.H WILL NEVER MAKE IT TO PLOT IN 2016,HE SHOULD WAIT FOR 2021 MAYBE BECAUSE PF IS GOING TO SWALLOW THIS SMALL UPND LIKE A SHARK SWALLING KAPENTAS.E.L LUNGU WILL DEFINATLEY BE IN PLOT NUMVBWER 1 UNTIL 2021.MY PREDICTION IS PF ARE GETTING NOTHING LESS THAN 65% OF VOTES .ZAMBIANS HAVE SEEN WHAT PF HAS DONE IUN 5 YEARS WHICH M.M.D FAILED IN 20 YEARS OF RULE.VIVA PRESIDENT EL. LUNGU VIVA PF ,WE ARE WITH YOU ON THURSDAY.FRIDAY WILL A BIG CELEBRATION FOR THE PRESIDENTS SWEARING IN CEROMONY AT HEROS STADIUM SORRY MR H.H. NOT THIS TIME BUT KEEP HOPEING FOR THE BEST IN 2021

  15. Don’t worry Mr Kanganja, your job is safe. PF is winning so just deal with these tribal trouble makers who think Southern province extends into Mtedere.
