The Zambia Police Service wishes to advise the nation on the forthcoming inauguration ceremony of the Sixth Republican President of Zambia and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu and his Running mate Her Honour the Vice President Ms. Inonge Wina that considering the many people that may wish to witness this high profile event at Heroes stadium in Lusaka, it has become necessary to institute the following measures:
Security
Access to the stadium shall be on first come basis and once the stadium is filled to capacity all gates shall be closed. The Zambia Police Service has been informed by the office of Secretary to Cabinet of alternative venues where people can follow the proceedings on big screens. These venues will include among others the Levy Mwanawasa stadium on the Copperbelt, Nkoloma stadium in Chelstone area and the show grounds in Lusaka. Access to the designated VVIP sections of these venues shall be strictly by card. Any unauthorized attempt to gain access to these sections shall be sternly dealt with.
In view of the high profile nature of this event those intending to attend are advised to be at the stadium early for security clearance and other formalities. No offensive articles shall be allowed into the stadium and this shall include any type of bag or bottle. At all times those in attendance are advised to remain calm as adequate security measures have been put in place.
Motorists
Contravention of Traffic regulations shall not be tolerated and erring motorist shall be dealt with. We are advising motorists and the general public to conduct their activities within the confines of the law. All traffic proceeding out of or into Lusaka shall be diverted away from the Heroes stadium. Police traffic officers will be deployed to regulate, direct traffic and all motorists are advised to comply.
Media
For comfort and safety of all in attendance the following guidelines have been made in respect of accredited media personnel:
- The national, international and institutional press will have access to certain areas or specific locations, as defined, to cover the event.
- Only journalists who have been duly accredited and that submit the credential to the authorities the day of the event will be allowed to these areas.
- All the journalists present in attendance must display an accreditation media card at all times.
- All media equipment and media personnel shall be subject to security screening before gaining entry to the stadium and designated places.
- Media personnel must ensure they gain entry and setup their equipment before the commencement of the event.
We are urging all political party leaders and the general public to ensure adherence to the set guidelines of this important National event. You may be all aware that we shall have foreign Heads of State and other Dignitaries hence the need to comply with the laid down guidelines.

The real waste of time was the court cases.
Lungu will never be free as he has been in the past, these are the consequences of forcing oneself to rule people, dictatorial features will develop in him till fate catches up with him, no one was searched during the pf campaign lauch, people were drinking in the stadium, even cadres were controlling policemen…. Take not that the campaign and this inauguration ceremony are different events no heads of state was invited to the campaign and they are now and not only because of that Lungu is now a president being ushered in to office

I am also looking forward to here that Lungu is dead. I really feel proud when evil men perish.
